We worked with Hailey as our mortgage broker at Pacific Home Loans for our home purchase in Kauai, and she was excellent throughout the entire process. She and her team really went above and beyond. She researched a ton of options for us, walked us through each one thoroughly, and gave clear, practical advice without ever being pushy. We always felt like we understood what we were choosing and why. She was available pretty much all the time and stayed closely coordinated with everyone involved to keep things moving. This was a complicated deal with a lot of moving parts, and she somehow made it feel simple on our end. She also got us a great rate, which obviously matters, but what stood out more was the amount of effort and care she put into making sure everything came together smoothly. Overall, just a really solid experience. I'd absolutely recommend Hailey and her team. read more

I got into a bad situation where a lender ended up not being able to meet multiple loan estimates provided and wasted enough time that I was not going to be able to meet a closing date on a house I had a contract on. I called Pacific Home Loans and began working with Hailey Baclig. Hailey immediately understood the urgency of my situation and was able to get me final approval for closing in only 10 business days keeping me from losing the house. Very professional company. Highly recommend and will use again in the future for home loans / refinancing. read more

Aloha! I successfully recorded on my Hawaii condo refinance today, yay! This was all made possible by the amazing team at Pacific Home Loans! My lender, Cindy Fuentes, was wonderful to work with, she is so sweet and friendly, and very knowledgeable in her field. She let me know what to expect each step of the way and was super quick with responding whenever I had any questions. We ran into a hiccup with the condo master insurance binder, as the master insurance policy had recently changed. Cindy and Steven Mangum worked with me to help get this resolved with the condo aoao quickly so that we can proceed with a very smooth closing. I am so grateful to Cindy, Steven and their entire Pacific Home Loans team for making this happen...and making it happen on a low interest rate, making my payments per month much lower. I highly recommend Cindy Fuentes as your go to lender, you will love working with her!! read more

What a breeze! And so appropriate as I was purchasing a condo on Maui...Cool ocean breeze, lovely sunsets...but I digress. First let me say that numbers, legalese and paperwork is NOT my forte. I will admit that the original email Steven sent me looked daunting, but I really wanted to make this purchase and move to my dream location. I opted to just go into the office and meet him. He was so patient, and explained everything. And a BIG shout out to Janelle...she is awesome. Considering we did all this in a mere 5 weeks, start to finish, and that included Christmas and New Years, I would highly recommend the people at Pacific Home Loans! read more

I agree with Michael F's review from 2015. When we first purchased our condo on Maui, we wanted to work with Steven and he couldn't deliver. We decided to give him another shot as we wanted to move forward with a refinance. Our property is a bit complicated because it's a condotel with a large number of timeshares & a board that doesn't want to increase it's insurance coverage to meet new FHA requirements. That limits the number of lenders we can work with & we've gone through a number of application processes only to have lenders reject the property after all that work (and credit pulls, which end up on our credit reports). We explained all of this to Steven & asked him for rates. He refused to give them without an application. Multiple emails later he finally gave us numbers, but not the ones we wanted, due to being "busy". I said we'd wait. He said he'd send them. Two months later, I follow up with the same email chain and he takes me through the same run around again. Wanting me to call him. I just want two numbers. Not a phone call. Not a sales job. When you can't be upfront with folks and you run them around, why would I trust you with my home? My biggest investment? I don't find him to best honest or trustworthy and I would strongly urge you to look elsewhere for financing. read more

I highly recommend Steven and Pacific Home Loans! I refinanced my home and he and Michelle were fantastic to work with. This can be a long and confusing process but they simplify it as much as possible for the client. They are professional, honest and efficient! I got the best rate possible, better than anyone else I spoke with, and they were very communicative throughout the process. Whether you want to refi or get a home loan, this is the best company to go with, no question. Please don't review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you're connected in any way to the owner or employees. read more

Hi Yelpers. James again to report that I got my loan and the home is in process of being built. Steven and Michelle were amazing and made it all happen when no one else could. What started as just a dream that I couldn't imagine ever really happened, has turned into a reality. You can see the house being built on Maui if you're on the westside, just look towards the ocean as you're driving from McDonalds in Kahana to Napili Plaza and it's the big one under construction on the left. I can't say enough good things about the Pacific Home Loans team - you guys rock. My family and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts! read more

We were referred to Ryan Hertz by a close friend. We shopped different lenders and mortgage companies, and after talking to a few others we felt Ryan was the person to go with!! Pacific Home Loans came through for me in a very big way on my recent purchase in Hawaii. They are smart, creative, communicative, and relentless in working with their clients. On top of all this, Steve & Janelle have access to mortgage products that no one else on the island could touch. Period. I would HIGHLY recommend Pacific Home Loans and I will be using them again on my next purchase in Maui. MAHALO! read more

I have tried with Steven Magnum. He doesn't want to help the little guy. He is looking for a easy million dollar deal there isn't one. He tells you things and doesn't come through with his promises. I was referred to him from a realtor friend of mine. I have given this man every opportunity over the course of 1 year and he doesn't follow through or is "too busy" to help and assist. The same thing others do and give me a approval. On a island people talk, I am ensure to put my two sense in to others looking for a home loan who has helped me and who has not. Not a good thing on a island not to deliver and not follow through with something universally others can do. I don't recommend this guy at all. Talks a lot but doesn't do the walk.. Actions speak louder than words. At least make a effort and show you care about someone even if you can't help them! Total bullshit! I don't like snakes on this island. read more

Steven Mangum of Pacific Home Loans has been absolutely amazing! He educated & walked us through each step of procuring our Home Equity Conversion Mortgage, the new HUD reverse mortgage program. Although he knew at onset that this would be a challenge, he met it like a pro and closed the loan! The thorough research of his team even saved the deal after being given incorrect info from our HOA mgt company! Calls were promptly returned and he went the extra mile to accommodate our schedule by holding a weekend conference call with us. Steven's patient presence from beginning to end resulted in achieving our goal: We now can live in our home as long as we need/choose with sufficient fund$ to meet our living expenses. We highly recommend him to our family and friends for all their mortgage needs! read more

I am a real estate agent and this was the first time I have worked with Pacific Home Loans. Steven, Mary and Irma gave excellent service and went the extra mile to get our loan closed. They stayed in close communication during the entire escrow period and were always easy to get in touch with. I worked very closely with Mary, and she was especially proactive in handling unexpected issues that came up. I would have no problem recommending them! read more

We closed in less than 30 days and we couldn't have done it without the help of Steven and his staff, they made what is normally a painful process, virtually pain free by taking care of all of the details and anticipating what the lender would ask for next eliminating those "surprises" we all hate. Highly recommended. read more

I've worked with Steven and his staff on two different loans on vacation properties, and they were super nice, knowledgable, helpful, and efficient. Lawful home lending involves filling out mountains of paperwork, but they helped me every step of the way and promptly answered my questions. They only let you borrow what you can afford and match you up with the best loan for your situation. Also, I like the fact that they are very security minded with multiple safeguards protecting your private information. Like the previous reviewer, I highly recommend them. read more
