When it came to this restaurant, they actually do perfectly fine despite some mistakes they've made. Their service was actually outstanding as I was originally going to order a regular Cherry Coke until I saw that they've had Coca Cola Zero so I went ahead and ordered a cherry coke zero instead. Their inside of the restaurant is amazing as it's actually a wonderful looking sports bar as this restaurant is dedicated to sports. Their food is also amazing despite being out of their cheesecake egg rolls which I definitely wanted to try, so I went to order their fried pickles for dessert, their onion rings are much better than the onion rings served at The Anchor (Which is long gone due to not paying their rents) and their chicken strips and fries don't disappoint as well, however I was kinda disappointed when they got rid of their grilled cheese which was actually my favourite part of going there which definitely could have gave the restaurant 5 stars. Also, it isn't kid friendly at all as I went to use the bathroom as the bathroom door is carved with loads of profanity and racial slurs (I didn't take a picture of it due to the fact that if I actually did, Yelp would probably take the review down). But aside from the mistakes it made, this is a fine restaurant for what it is, I would have gave them five stars if they would fix the mistakes it did though. read more

Never have I been so frustrated and disappointed in a bar or restaurant. We went in for a watch party of the finale of love island. We got there an hour early to save seats and order food ahead of time, we didn't even see a waitress until we had been sitting there for 20 minutes. We ordered a soft serve marg, didn't get it for 25 minutes. We ordered chips and salsa, waited probably close to 40 minutes for that. Once 8:00 hits, love island had not started on the two TVs that we always watch love island on when they have the Monday watch parties. It is a blank screen, but the other TVs around are playing the show. We were trying to talk to our waitress about it, but she was no where in sight. It wasn't until 8:22 that they finally started playing the show on our TVs, we asked if they would be willing to start the show over since it was 20 minutes in already and they refused saying that then they would have to restart it on all of the TVs. I think that most of the watchers there would have preferred that since they didn't even get to hear the first 20 minutes. We decided to leave and just watch it at home, I asked to close my tab two different times and when she finally got around to it she didn't even give me the discounts promised. It is advertised that we get half off our drinks and $7 appetizers. My total should have been $12, I was charged $18 with no discounts. I would have argued over the price if our waitress could have heard over the karaoke. We were there for an hour and a half, for a show we didn't even get to watch and bad service. I will also add that the whole time we are there they have karaoke going on, which didn't bother us any until 8:00 rolled around and they were playing the karaoke over the show. read more

Local sports pub located in old town. We were greeted by the bartender Shelby, who was very nice. We are visitors to Wichita and she was able to recommend some other local spots to visit afterwards. Was told that we we're not allowed due to "dress code" cause of sweat pants on a freezing temperature night by the two guy's at the door. (note that girls we're getting in free tonight as well). I've been here a total of 3 times and each time it gets worse. First two times we had to wait over 20 mins for a server to acknowledge us. This last time I came in on a Saturday night, absolutely dead inside, had to pay a 10 dollar cover. I sat down and got a drink, the server was great. Extremely disappointed. The bartender falsely accused me of having a fake ID and illegally confiscated my property (my ID). Refused to have a discussion with me, and told me I needed to call the police in order for him to give it back to me. I LITERALLY had to call the Wichita police department to come mediate the situation. After waiting about 45 minutes for the police to arrive, another manager arrived at the restaurant and basically checked the ID, noticed it wasn't fake and came over and apologized for the situation. He then offered for me to come get 1/2 price drinks Friday, but absolutely no compensation for wasting my time or our city resources. Have eaten here five times in our last five visits to Wichita. We've had a late lunch, drinks and 1/2 price apps at Happy Hour, food and drinks for Game Day Sunday, just never been at night. We have always enjoyed our food, and all but the last time, our drinks. Their club sandwich is a favorite and the best I've ever had. Onion rings and cheese balls are excellent. The fried noodles, odd as they might seem for bar fare, are very tasty. Other assorted sandwiches, tacos, and even the French fries are very good. Mostly we've had good servers/bartenders but the last time we had one that couldn't have been more indifferent. Not suprisingly, she also made a piss poor drink! Our appetizer never came until our food came out. The server explained the kitchen was slammed. When our food did come out my appetizer "fried pickles" was luke warm along with the burger. My friend ordered the cheesy fries. The cheese was so cold that it had hardened. I asked for mayo with my burger. Took her five minutes to bring it back to the table. Emerson Biggens excel at a few things. Providing an atmosphere for sports fans to enjoy watching games and place to eat unhealthy things while watching games. Drinks are reasonably priced and the staff is generally responsive. The drink I ordered was a Deschutes Freshly Squeezed IPA. I ordered the big beer version and it came in a big plastic mug. Mistake number 1. Plastic especially when you wash and scrub them will attract odors that transfer over to the drink. It completely ruined the beer. My recommendation is to toss them completely. Glass is a better alternative that looks better and doesn't transfer the gross previous stank into my beer. I requested a football game on a specific screen and she was able to fulfill my request. In terms of customer service, that hit the mark. Food I ordered the beef fried tacos. You get three which is great. Wish it came with a side of chips and salsa, but regardless the tacos tasted great. Menu was nice in terms of presentation. Easy to read and colorful. Selection of food could expand. Overall it's a good place to watch games and to chow down on grub. read more

First I will say that the food was good when my wife and I visited this afternoon for a later lunch. This has almost always been the case. I had the burger of the week and she had the Big Lou's Fried Taco Basket. We also ordered the queso and chips which was extremely well done. My issue with our visit is based on how the staff is taking the current public health crisis with the necessary urgency. True, there is no "mask mandate" but it seems the standard practice by the vast majority of food related businesses is that masks are required entering/exiting the business and ALL staff wear masks. That fits within the most current CDC guideline. Not one staff member was wearing a mask during our visit, not one. I understand some think, with a political bias, that masks aren't necessary. From a career science educator's point of view, they ARE necessary. I side with science over political opinion. What would think if a restaurant wanting to rebuild their customer base they might inspire consumer confidence by following CDC guidelines in regard to indoor dining. Both my wife and I had COVID over a year ago. We have both been fully vaccinated and our immediate family has as well. We don't particularly feel a risk but that's not the point. The point is that when I walk into a restaurant, at this point in time, I expect the business to be enforcing mask wearing per CDC guidelines if they want my discretionary income. We seriously considered leaving and taking our business elsewhere. That will be our response in the future if these practices continue. Many of us are gradually venturing out into more public settings to spend our money. Don't make us quit because people are tired of wearing a mask and choose to "wish away" this public health emergency. The pandemic is not over. read more

Usually i would not care about how packed and full the bar is but... with the COVID19 breakout i was VERY disappointed in the lack of precaution the business took to try and keep everyone safe. I have a confession.... I managed to line up a full weeks worth of dates my first 9 days in Wichita...8 of them being with a different guy. Don't worry...No hanky panky...Just a strong attempt at avoiding depression and up-keeping my social life in a mid west city I've never lived in. I had to pretend to be surprised every time we walked thru the doors because they thought they were showing "the new girl in town" what the hot spots were in Wichita. Oh well. One last confession... The first pool table you see when you walk into the gaming area is the table where all of these poor dudes lost their pride and experienced hardcore defeat to yours truly. It's your typical "bar box" 7 footer which, for me, is a cake walk given I worked at a pool hall for 5 years and played on nothing but 9 footers. Does that make me a bad person? Oh wellsies. I've managed to win my dinner and drinks off of it. I guess I should talk about the actual place now, right? Service is a little on the pushy side. They've got decent looking chicks working there who try their best to keep your glass full but the timing of their intervals is off. They'll come 5 times in 15 minutes but then leave you hanging for 20. Tables are in decent shape. I've seen worse. The house cues are in surprisingly good condition. Some of them are glue on cap tips, others are actual tips. At least these cues HAVE tips. Looks like they've got a nice shuffleboard. It's always occupied though. Nice sport bar style in Old Town Wichita with WiFi connection. We came at lunch time on a Tuesday and the were not real busy but service was a little slow. Coffee was very plain and didn't offer creamer. The pizza was thin and crispy and tasted ok. Ordered a order of fries and they were homemade fries, came in a basket but was only half full. The fries were cooked crispy but were also ok. Over all I wasn't impressed with the service or food. When they dress the waitresses in referee-themed shirts, you know the restaurant is serious in its dedication towards being a sports bar. And while Frodo Baggin's seems like a fine place to spend with a large group of people, or enjoy the big game, as a burger place they have some work to do. Not that the place makes a bad burger, per se. In fact, I enjoyed the commitment to styles that the place shared, and the freshly-made fries is always a plus. Unfortunately, the burgers could use some work - the E.B. Burger - not named for the Charlotte's Web author - featured two 1/4 lb patties - the smaller patties used because of the claim that smaller patties can create the crispy caramelized corners, though such was not seen on my burger - topped with The Works, including a fried egg, but in the end the bun couldn't hold up to the sliding burger, forcing me to go fork and knife all over it, before finally giving up altogether. Another Wichita joint understands the importance of freshly-made fries, but unfortunately another Wichita joint fries them incorrectly, resulting in a soggy and limp fry that could have been a whole lot better. Emerson Biggin's is a kind of place that I could see myself spending a lot more time within, but between the mistakes in burger preparation and the lack of significant beer choices on tap, I don't know how enthusiastically I would return. read more

This sports bar does a good job of offering food late-night with a full menu of appetizers, burgers and chicken sandwiches. Our server was friendly and came around often with water to accompany our spicy nachos and the chicken sandwich with avocado was pretty tasty. While I typically prefer restaurants with a little more character, the bar atmosphere and karaoke stage in the back made this an okay hangout in the evening. read more
