She and her husband and Mom have done it for years- great people. I cannot imagine life without this daily practice- If you are feeling a bit stressed or uneasy in today's environment- this is a great way to balance your inner mind- nobody tells you to do or think anything- it's basically thinking.... And creating a positive outlook for you! I personally listen to Bob Roth daily- meditate and absolutely feel so much better -

TM has proven to be extremely effective at stress reduction and helping my nervous system get healthy. I've tried all types of breathwork (4-7-8, box breathing, etc.), acupressure, mindful meditation, etc. with inconsistent results. TM had an impact immediately, and I fully expect the impact to grow over time. I wished I'd known about this years ago. One of the most effective health practices I've found. Cindy and Barry are the perfect people to train people on TM. Extremely nice and approachable, and very knowledgeable. They demystified TM and taught proper technique to maximize results. Very fortunately to have had them as trainers.

The knowledge and practices shared are priceless. When I was first introduced to the OCMG, I was suffering in pain on many levels, spiritually, physically, emotionally and financially, so much of which I was unaware of. I'm so grateful for all the various meditation theme nights that focus to heal the illusions I created in these different areas of my experience. I'm especially thankful for our Wholly Healing nights. To me, Wholly Healing is like taking an energetic shower/reset. I didn't realize how much of my pain was self-inflicted and how simple it really was and is to let the heaviness pass. However, I am becoming more and more aware of how easy I forget. The OCMG is a wonderful reminder of the truth of who and what I really am. Thank you OCMG for being such a blessing in my life. May you continue to Be Blessed Thanks for reading

Coming from years in the zen mindfulness meditation tradition, the mantras, guided imagery, and use of hindu imagery was just different than what I have been used to as meditation for years. Whether you apply your skepticism here, or not, it was an uplifting and positive experience overall.

Beginner or not, this is a great space to relive some stress, tap into your inner peace, and meet others that are also interested in self exploration. What a gem in Costa Mesa, providing the public with free meditation classes (donations are always welcome!). Gil and Marilyn are SO welcoming, and somehow manage to remember everyones names. The first time I came in was by myself for the Wednesday night group practice led by Gil. The next time I came in was with my cousin, who had no prior meditation experience at all, and she loved it. I randomly found this place online when I was looking to get back into meditation a few months after I completed a Vipassana course. Although Shambhala is different, the 7:00pm class opens with an introduction and instruction to approaching this style of meditation. Note that the space itself is *behind* the Coco's. If you're facing the restaurant, to left you'll find a hall that you pass through. Make a turn towards the salon and you'll find the Meditation Center. The space is warm and clean, be sure to check in with Marilyn or Sepi at the front desk to say that you're new. You take off your shoes (you might want to wear socks) and enter the meditation hall closed off by silkscreen doors. No need to bring pillows or a bloc as very comfortable ones are already provided for you. For those who have trouble sitting cross legged or kneeling on the floor, there are three ample rows of chairs behind the floor seating. The temperature is mild--I wore a jean jacket with a t-shirt underneath and was comfortable the whole session. After practicing two sets of walking and sitting meditation, the class sat in a circle and read a chapter from The Lost Art of Good Conversation, by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. The discussion that followed provides an excellent connection between how the physical and mental exercise of meditation translates to our everyday lives. You have nothing to lose by dropping in. I hope to provide an updated review after attending one of their Saturday sessions or courses. For a fee, they have really cool contemplative arts seminars. I wanted to sign up for the Ikebana course, the study and practice of flower arranging, but they ran out of space! The best way to keep up with its events is by following its Meetup page.
