We drove to Emerald Technologies from Standish Hickey campground to use their high speed Internet. We normally steer free of video by games when camping but I made an exception for my son's "golden" birthday and the Nintendo Switch special anniversary download of Rocket League's limited time release of the White Fennec car. We came into the store tucked away in the shopping center near Rays grocery and were warmly greeted by Garth. I explained the situation and he understood our "mission" and was really helpful. He even enlisted Kai the in-house Nintendo expert to help us figure out why we couldn't get the item in the RL item store. Kai spent the afternoon completing the Nintendo update to test the issue and he gave us his number so we could call back in the afternoon to see if his test worked and it did. We returned the next day to follow their instructions. All details aside, we were successful! The Emerald Technologies team was awesome, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. I appreciated their efforts to help me with my limited knowledge of Nintendo. read more

Emerald Technologies sells new computers and used refurbished computers. They repair desktop machines and laptops/notebooks. They have about six Internet stations in the store, a few of them high speed machines capable of intense gaming. They have laser, ink jet and glossy color printers. And they sell all kinds of stuff for Networking, and pretty much everything else one would need. My family has bought new and used computers from Emerald as well as all kinds of networking gear and all the junk that goes with it for over 10 years. Garth and his staff have not failed to keep us happy. I am pretty sure that Garth, who was born and raised here, knows that everyone in town knows everyone else. Literally. Any business that starts getting a bad reputation around here goes under fast, so imagine how a computer sales and service business like Emerald Technologies has had to perform to be so successful. Emerald Technologies hasn't failed to perform for us. In the store or on a house call visit, they keep us running and happy. read more

My Mac Mini reported that the hard drive was failing. I bought a new one online, but before I could install it, my Mac refused to boot. I brought it into Emerald Technologies, and they installed my new drive, and the work time even came in a bit less than the estimated work time. Also, when I got home, I found that all my documents had been restored to the new drive, even though I couldn't boot from old hard drive. I am very happy with the high quality of service I received. read more

These guys are the greatest! My laptop had broken hinges and they not only fixed the hinges and the screen but went through it and cleaned it up and got it running the best it can run. I live in Sonoma county and would make the drive again if needed. Thank you! read more

Took my Dell laptop to a place in Fortuna, it was in worse condition when I left. So I checked out Garberville. "Michael" took 3 minutes to fix everything with a few key stokes....well worth the $20 fee! Super service. read more

Great, friendly, knowledgeable computer techs. These guys are open for repairs Mon-thru-Fri and open for internet use only on Saturday. (No repair guys work on Saturday, so if you need something fixed, bring it in during the week! However I like that they are open on Saturday for those of us that need to quickly check our email) I've never found that "Only Garth can answer questions" Everyone that works there is friendly and helpful in my experience. :) read more

Not only did I purchase my laptop here, I take it in for an annual check-up. Knowledgeable staff, and with local restaurants and coffee shops no longer offering wifi, one of the only places in Garberville to go for online access. read more

My interactions with this company left a bad taste in my mouth. I had network issues, they said they could fix it if I bought this one piece of hardware. I bought the device, brought in my gear, they charged me a lot and the problem wasn't even fixed. In fact they made it worse. Now I'm out the money for the useless device and the money they charged me for 'services rendered' I will never use them nor will I recommend them to any person I know in the southern Humboldt area. read more

The owner Garth is the only nice and helpful guy there. He should really look into the people he hires they all have bad attitudes or when you ask them a question they simply say "I don't know" and continue playing their video games or w/e they're doing or say "we have to ask Garth" so basically if Garth is not there we the customers have to keep that question in mind drive back to Garberville and hope Garth is there to answer our questions. I'll support Best Buy before buying another computer in Emerald Technologies. read more
