First time at savers, they definitely have a HUGE space and rows on rows of racks. To the right…read morewhen you walk in has aisles of books (buy4get1) and then ceramics and decor and old appliances and electronics toward the back near the restrooms. Restrooms leave something to be desired haha but they do have them available, no TP or soap so had to just make do with a #1 and get back to thrifting! :) Now they definitely have more cool brands for the female section usually at most thrift places i feel. The lady found 7-10 patagonias, some Oner, some cool vintage stuff we don't know where from. You donate something and they give you 20% off to spend in store. You can also sign up for their membership and get coupon QR codes to use on checkout. The men's section has a lot of jeans, dress shirts, active wear and light jackets etc. most items in the 10-20 dollar range with like Northface items being 20-30$ I saw a lot of Nike, addidas, Charles River, hill fiber, RL, etc. never know what you can find. Nothing for me in this trip but the space has ample room, employee that helped us was nice figuring out the promo's on checkout!

Typically, I leave with at least one item. Common to find Patagonia jackets & vests here & Lululemon apparel ! Yesterday we gave Savers a visit, and I was having a field day in here on Halloween! Found 4 Patagonia jackets/vests, Lululemon swiftly long sleeve shirt, & some cool crewnecks. Prices are fair; Most items are in the $10 range & usually don't see any item being priced over $20. Highly recommend ;)

Prices for most of their items fit in the $15-$30 range. I thought the customer service was fine, helpful and nice, even. The only thing that perplexed me was the fact that a lot of the shirts in their femme section were altered into crop tops and I'm someone who would rather make that decision myself. Overall, the foot traffic was bumpin, it would be fun if Thrive hosted events in the space.

Everything is individually marked with prices. I saw that a piece wasn't marked, and I made them aware of it saying that they might want to add a price. I was trying to help them (someone could steal it since it didn't have a tag, they could claim it to be their own). I walk away and hear one guy say to the other "that kid was really obsessed with this not having a price on it." It doesn't sound so bad in writing but his inflection is noteworthy. Their clothing is overall way overpriced. Half of the stock is lame and the prices they write for them are absolutely whack. I don't know where they get these prices. I know it's on Newbury but c'mon my guy, get real. If you like vintage clothing, go to the Garment District in between Central and Kendall Square, or go to Boomerangs/Buffalo Exchange!

I think the problem is the week long format, it's just not long enough for kids to get to know each other and engage with any meaningful activity. So "Game Design with Minecraft", which my son was really jazzed to dive into, was really just a mediocre first week of what should be a longer and more engaging program. Counselors seemed bright and friendly. Program seemed organized and well run. It just seems like their real hook is for parents eager to get their kids engaged with STEM stuff, not a way to expose kids to fun computer stuff in a meaningful way.

I agree with the reviewers who say it is mostly paying for an expensive, college-aged baby-sitter…read moreto watch teens while they play video games. Firstly, it is promoted as a camp at MIT...but they pull a bait and switch AFTER payment where you are told that the classes will be at MIT but the kids sleep at BENTLEY and are bused to MIT each morning. The Bentley dorm is smelly, small, and severely lacking; and all the kids are on one floor. Additionally, classes and ages are combined in classrooms. You can have 3 counselors teaching 3 different classes, in one classroom, it's a mess. According to my son, most of the time the counselors are doing their own thing and not really teaching. My son learned absolutely nothing, the food at Bentley was horrible (my son was consistently hungry), the kids were NOT watched in the dorms (they can easily leave and no one will notice), and for classes they use free software that anyone can easily get online and learn how to use on youtube. There were no educational opportunities like visits to the MIT museum, for example, even though they were on the grounds. The after class activities are things like clay arts and crafts, which is more appropriate for elementary school kids than high schoolers; visits to dunkin donuts; and movie nights where the kids are left entirely alone. For a tech camp, it is quite lacking. Be aware that this camp, and the certificate, are not things that are worth anything for a college app. Perhaps as a baby-sitting day camp for younger children it may be a better option. Administratively it is a MESS, run by people who have no business running a camp and working with children... To this day I am still wondering why the counselors use aliases instead of their names? That is crazy, and raises red flags, why can't I know the real name of the person who's supposed to be taking care of my child? Would not recommend.
