This place is pretty amazing. You would never think it from the outside, but inside is gorgeous. My husband planned my surprise 50th birthday party here. I can't say enough good things about it. All our guests couldn't believe it either. Absolutely beautiful. Now i have to give a fair review. There were 2 things that i was not happy with. One is a small thing and the other is pretty important. The first is the food. It was all really good!!! We got a lot of compliments on their food. What was bad was their pasta salad. That needs some serious work and probably a whole new recipe. It was pretty bad. That's an easy small fix. The big one is the DJ. Oh my God he was horrible. It was so bad it could have ruined my party if i let it get to me, but i chose to just have fun. They make you use their DJ due to lIghts and all. Which is great. If that's the case, then get a good one. My husband gave him a complete play list of what we wanted to hear. How can you mess that up? Well he did. He didn't play any of tHe songs on there. Not one! He played what he wanted. We gave him the list a week before the party and then again on the night of the party. So those are the two things i had an issue with. Four days before the event, we were informed that our reservation was canceled due to their error in double booking. No real solution. No accountability. No urgency. Just a last-minute cancellation that left our entire family scrambling to find an alternative venue under extreme pressure. This was not a small gathering, this was a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that required extensive planning, coordination, and financial commitment. Flights were booked. Guests had made arrangements. And Emerald Hall showed zero regard for the impact of their mistake. Mistakes can happen in any business, but how you handle them is what defines you. In this case, there was a complete lack of professionalism, empathy, and responsibility. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Emerald Hall Event Center. I booked this venue over 4 months ago and paid my deposit to host my 70th birthday celebration. Since then, the owners have canceled on me twice just for showings, which was already frustrating and unprofessional. Now, with my event only 4 days away and 170 guests expected, they canceled on me AGAIN--this time leaving me completely without a venue at the last minute. This has caused unnecessary stress and put me in a very difficult position trying to find a new location on such short notice. This has been one of the worst experiences I've ever had with an event venue. I don't think they have a proper kitchen. There was never any toilet paper or toilet seat covers in the bathroom even when we asked for some. It was nothing less than a nightmare to remember for the family who hired them! She jeopardized her business license by simply providing food that was not heated and still frozen (sitting for 2hrs unrefrigerated), SERVING Alcohol to minors (jeopardizing alcohol license if she has one to serve), and broke all promises that she offered the family! The candy table looked like it was put cheaply together with her eyes closed! The charcuterie table was completely hot and soggy from it being so hot in the venue! Food served was far from being professionally cooked by an award winning chef!!! The look in her face said it all "I got you suckers!" She could have cared less if the party was a complete mess since the beginning.... She saw opportunity to scam a family and she went with it.... WARNING ZERO STARTS When thinking of renting this hall be advised ; have the owner itemize all charges and read the contract with The owner present prior to signing or giving any type of deposit. It was to our great regret to have put our trust that the contract would be honored, and there would be no unexpected or added charges. Once the contract was signed, and a deposit was given the owner disclosed that there would be several separate charges such as: charge for using electricity for a live band $450. When our intentions of having a live band were disclosed at the initial meeting and the owner failed to inform us of such fee. As time went on, she also disclosed there would be a fee if we brought in our own cake vendor and for distribution of cake and clean up, fee if the band took too long to disconnect, fee if we wanted salsa with our meals. It's of very low ethical standards to have a contract that does not disclose all or possible fees. It's very deceitful to have conversations with the owner about our plans and intentions and for her to never disclose the extra fees that would apply to our specific wants and needs. Once these concerns were addressed the owner failed to answer text and calls. Once she was finally reached her response to our concerns to the added fees was to go back and read the contract regarding no reimbursement for the deposit given. However, she won't hold herself accountable for not disclosing the extra fees mentioned above that are never mentioned in said contract. With that said the owner seems to only honor her contract to what best benefits her and not the client. The lack of communication, business ethic and integrity is disappointing beyond belief! read more

The organization was inadequate, and I frequently had to follow up to ensure a successful event. I ultimately hired a coordinator at the last minute because Esmeralda Salcedo, the co-owner, was disorganized and created unnecessary stress with additional charges. On the day of the wedding, she assured me that the food would be served on time, a security guard would be present, and a DJ would play our requested music. Unfortunately, none of these assurances were fulfilled. My family had to assist in setting things up as my guests arrived. I paid over $26,000, expecting at least a satisfactory outcome, but the experience fell far short of my expectations. It took a lot of me to sit down and share my experience because it was honestly very disappointing. I wish I would have done more research on this place and people in charge. I only share this so that others who are looking for an amazing experience don't get caught up with these people. When we went to set up she was saying "i'm leaving this place for the same price" because supposedly the hall was way more expensive! and she kept mentioning it, like ok girl we get it but next time don't say that the place would be available if it rained . please get your contract itemized with everything because when bride and groom tasted the nasty tasteless food they only got $500 refund but if they had gone with their food and they had more than the 100 people it would have been $40 per plate. so it's crazy that they only got $500 back! The day of the party we couldn't go in till exactly the time the party started and mind you she was giving tours with all of our decor and food items already in there. when the ceremony started she had people coming in to see the special moment, she really couldn't wait till maybe after the party ? i guess not! so going into the restrooms there was a HUGE cockroach she couldn't even keep the bathrooms clean before we got there ?! once food was about to get served someone told us that this lady took some of our plates and utensils into the kitchen the same kitchen she said we had no access to so why were they taken back there ? if you still consider this place for your event please make sure everything is priced she will literally scam you ! I go in for my appointment with a man she is not there . I don't know who he is, but she told me that somebody would be there. He quotes us a completely different price and then when we tell him what we were quoted, he calls her and comes back to us and said We don't do quotes over the phone. We do them in person. I immediately get frustrated because you're telling me this, but I got quoted over the phone. You need to be better at communicating with your business partner or be on the same page before your potential client gets here that is so unprofessional and it ruined my day because I thought I was going to book with them. if I could give them zero stars, I would. We had my daughters XV. It turned out almost perfect. The hall looked beautiful, expensive and elegant, took everyone by surprise. Esmeralda was great. She was helpful and replied quickly to my many questions. The food was good. The food choices were limited and I would have preferred something more culturally authentic but it was still good! If your a Spanish speaking family, the DJ would have been better. I needed both English& Spanish so the DJ that we had could have been better. The DJ we had was not bilingual. I think they have more than one. The price we paid was worth it. We paid for a photo Booth and candy table.... that's when things get expensive. The Bartender was great. I would suggest keeping all communication in email and save them. They deal with so many people they forgot about quotes, but I had everything in text, email or writing. They honored it. I would not recommend booking your venue here. Esmeralda is rude, I left a deposit early may for a wedding and my father passed weeks after leaving a deposit. I asked for her help regarding my deposit since we needed all money possible for my fathers services she said she needed to run it through others before giving me a response and stated she would call me back in a week. She never followed through with her word and when I called her back she gave me a run around bs story. She also stated that due to covid she couldn't give me a response and that she wouldn't know when she could. Also she mentioned that they were taking reservations and PEOPLES MONEY however celebrations were not being allowed at venue AGAIN BECAUSE OF COVID. Which is not what her son had shared. The locations is horrible... there is druggies in the parking lot, not to mention that it is in a shopping center and a backyard to an apartment complex. I had my wedding there this saturday. The hall is amazing but the customer service is horrible .The husband is disrespecful and looks down on people.They cannot take complains they will blame you.. All my guest complained about the 3 waitres service.. they only had 3 for 200 people. Some of my guest got skipped and didnt get fed ..or get any water on tables. The food and cake where amazing at the food tasting but at the event the food was cold and no flavor and the cake was dry .Atleast 3 tables did not get cake i had to ask owner to serve cake.The package include 2 securities and they only had one. I don't know where to start with this place. I made an appointment to see the venue, they showed up about 30 minutes late after I called them. Seemed like they forgot about the appointment. Then the initial pitch was good, he said "Your wedding is in good hands we will take care of you and the event coordinator will be in continuous contact with you 3 months before the big day." They lead you to believe that many of the things that they charge for come free until asked. I asked for an itemized list of what they offer so I know what I'm paying for. Made a deposit to reserve our day. Then come 3 months before our day. No call. Tried to get into contact with Esmeralda. No answer. I send her a text. Gets back to me and tells me it's her day off and to call her back at 12pm the next day. I call at noon. No answer. I send her a message. No response. It's not until i voice my concerns that she finally gets back to me. Asks that we make an appointment in person to sit down and go over the details for our wedding. We show up for our appointment and she has another client there and keeps us waiting. Then when she's done comes over and starts giving us a tour...Esmeralda was completely oblivious to the fact that we already booked and had spoken earlier about all of this information. So now we have sat down and we are going over what was promised and how we are going to set things up for the wedding. All of a sudden many of the things we were promised were being taken back. She said we will not be able to taste test the food. At all. She said they do not provide ice or water. She said we were only allowed 5 hours instead of 6. Which we have an itemized list saying otherwise. Esmeralda was very short and the moment she found out we already booked she acted as if we were wasting her time. One more month and no communication. Though being promised that they would stay in constant contact to ensure our very special day would be perfect. So I got into contact with Esmeralda once more to ask about the centerpieces. Proceeds to tell me that they do not offer centerpieces. Now at this point I'm very confused. I send her a picture of the centerpieces at this venue. Esmeralda forgot once again who I was or even where we booked. Then I expressed to her my concerns about her not being in contact with us to get the details in order with our wedding. And that she yet again forgot who i was or even where the event was being held. Then she proceeded to tell me that she works 2 jobs and deals with "hundreds of clients" like she could care less and that we are not a priority. Worst of all I call her to inform her that we wished to cancel our event with Emerald hall and she said flippantly said "Ok, bye have a good day." Couldn't imagine them staying in business for long. After he showed us the place and gave us the price of $5000.00 for 50 people we met with his wife. After that it all went down hill. She was very pushy and made the whole experience horrible. From telling us how lucky we were because she just charged someone $12,500 for the same party. To telling me I couldn't get married on a Saturday for the $5000.00 and told me to pick either Friday or Sunday and tried to make me feel like I was dumb for wanting my wedding on a Saturday. After I settled and said sure I Guess she then told me the Friday I wanted 1/10/2020 was not available. But honestly I felt like she was just giving me a hard time. She opened her book for a quick second and said yeah sorry it's already booked and when I said I was just going to hold off for now she said oh well they might be changing their date so I'll tell you next week. She then asked me for a $1000 deposit. I told her I would bring the check the next day and she seemed so annoyed. I myself felt so annoyed by that point and left really discouraged. I knew I loved the venue but I knew I couldn't sign a contract with such a horrible business owner. I tried calling her the next day to express my concerns and she didn't answer but she actually just called me right now and was coming at me like a bill collector. Asking for the deposit. I informed her that I had previously called and I would still be looking at a few other venues before I decided and she rudely said ok so when will you know. I told her Friday and she said ok bye. I honestly feel like she shouldn't be working with the public and should actually hire someone else to do this part of it. She has no people skills. To me your venue/business should speak for itself. You shouldn't have to strong arm people into choosing your venue and making it seem how lucky they are. When I went to other venues in the past they have one set price and sure days differ in prices but the way she does it is ridiculous and unprofessional. If she wants to have a high class business she needs to run it like one. So obviously for me and my husband we won't be going with this venue for our wedding. To my surprise the table arrangements were artificial (never mentioned before) I asked how much were we being charged for arrangements, as we included in our "package deal" and wanted natural arrangements instead, her response was" we let you borrow them" NOT! Next, I had to buy plates, forks and napkins for cake, napkins and cups for cocktails and beer. Then, food tasting (two weeks before) not many options (small portions were served the day of event and plates were picked up even if you weren't finished) and food was cold! Also, they told me they would give us an additional hour for dinner and they cut us off at exactly an hour, keeping food as all our guest hadn't arrived. Oh, and turns out the cake is ALSO artificial! Yes! for looks, they cut and serve from kitchen (saves them $$$) I noticed they were picking up full cake plates as people stepped away from table (to dance, restroom or to bar the day of). Two days before event I was told they were also including kids/children in my total count! Something else that wasn't brought up or clarified at the beginning of booking, only to sell you more tables for your guest! $$$ We were charged extra $$ for them to serve the Apple cider for the toast. They wanted extra for coffee (they were only providing water and ice). It's EXTRA $$$ to rent the machine for Margaritas. The "DJ" turn out to be the husband/owner We hired a live band which took away from DJ. Esmeralda the owner/wife was the bartender, (they keep it all in house) extremely short and rude! Lastly, I found it very RUDE of them to have the crew pick up and vacuum around guests/tables well over an hour before the event was scheduled and paid to end!!!!! Event must be paid a month before. You can't bring balloons (helium) It's their way ALWAYS..... UPDATE: my review on FB page was deleted!! Also received threatening text messages to remove my review.... unbelievable! read more

It's a very beautiful place. Customer service was horrible. I felt like every time I would ask for something like a plate of food, or a drink at the bar they seemed to be very annoyed to do there job. read more
