Emerald Coast has been servicing our home in Watersound Origins since 2019. We have never had an issue and customer service is great. We are not here all of the time, so we work with Melissa to schedule quarterly and annual service. She's easy to work with and works with us to get service dates that work. Chris has been very educational during his visits and points out maintenance issues that you as a homeowner may not see. Very helpful and Very informative. read more

We had no complaints with this company until they left our key inside our condo and we had no way of getting in when we came down for the season last year. We had to contact a locksmith and paid the $175 fee. I asked the owner of the company if they would reimburse us for at least some of the $175 but was told they would not. Melissa is probably the most unprofessional person I've ever talked to. We were out of the state trying to deal with the fact that a large amounts of termites were found. We explained the situation but that our GC was at the house so they had access to it. When they called and said they were on their way, we told them we were about to get on an airplane and wouldn't have phone service for a while. We were in the airplane when she called to tell us the initial inspection had been finished but we could not answer (it's a 4 seater airplane- not a commercial flight with WiFi). At some point while we were in the air starts sending these loooong text messages because we didn't pick up the phone, saying she was worried we were not honest people and not going to pay them and how people are always doing this to them. Her husband Chris, who had done the inspection, left our house about an hour before hand- again, we're in the middle of nowhere on a tiny plane so we had no way of knowing he had completed the inspection until we landed. When we landed we were sorta in shock at how aggressive and accusatory the texts had gotten in a very short amount of time. We called them immediately but she did not answer the phone so we called back about 15 minutes later. When she answered and we told her who we were, she instantly starts yelling and telling us how everyone screws them over and never pays them for the work they do. I AGAIN explained we were in an airplane and tried to call her the second we landed. I asked her about the tone of the texts and why she was yelling at me when we were trying to pay her. She then implies that I am stupid and don't know how to read and says "let's read these texts together, shall we?!". I told her she didn't need to read them to me as I had them in front of me and she replied that obviously I do need her to read them to me. I told her to let me pay her for whatever they had already done but she needed to stop yelling at me and to try and listen to what I was explaining about why it took us a little over an hour to call them back. She then tells me off with some choice words and hangs up on us!!! I called back immediately and another woman answers Melissa's phone, Melissa didn't want to talk to us. I gave the other person the card info (she was very polite but understandably uncomfortable). They ran the card for $300 and were told we would get the report from the initial inspection in an email. THEN about 45 minutes later Chris calls us back, says he is refunding our money, will not be sending the report and told us "good luck" with our house and hung up. This is the Reader's Digest version so I'll leave it at that, but I am still very surprised by how this whole thing played out and how incredibly unprofessional the owners are. Most of the reviews seem to not be the quality of their work, but how rude they are, so I cannot comment on that aspect as we weren't even able to get that far. After a good bit of research on termite prevention and treatment, I reached out to all available options in the Santa Rosa Beach and Destin area, one of which was Melissa at Emerald Coast Pest Control. There was nothing salesy about her pitch. It was informational and it checked out with everything that I had already learned. Termidor, which is the product they use, is the gold standard of termite prevention. Accept no substitutes. Bait stations, which is the preferred choice of many of their competitors, have an alarming failure rate. With this in mind... you have to realize that when you choose a company to go with, you're not just buying termite control--you're buying peace of mind. You have to ask yourself if you're going to feel good about your decision? Melissa was massively helpful. One big tell: She would not disparage her company's competitors. On 9-20-22 I called for an appointment for my condo for ants and spiders. When I mentioned my location, I was told they no longer service residential, and they no longer service my complex as of June, because our new CAM was not paying their bills. As a board member, I see our financials/check register monthly so I knew that was not true. I relayed this info to my CAM; then they, in turn, contacted them. That person denied saying this to me and told my CAM they are no longer doing commercial and doing residential only and that's the reason they were no longer servicing our complex. If Emerald Coast Pest Control no longer does commercial nor residential, what do they do? The rude representative speaking to customers or potential customers, should be fired. She was blunt/rude to me and also just plain rude to my CAM. read more

Where do I even begin? This company has probably the worst customer service of any locally owned company I've ever dealt with (across the board- NOT just in pest control). Let me just break down how this company has given us the run around for 4 years... We bought our home in March of 2016 and purchased a termite bond immediately upon closing. Paid the full $800, had the inspection, signed the bond. Done. Was told we would receive an annual renewal contract every year moving forward which would require us to pay an additional roughly $200 and have another inspection at that time. Seems easy enough. Fast forward to 2017. March has come and gone. We realize sometime in either April or May that we never received said renewal in the mail. My husband called and so begins our relationship with MELISSA (every time he calls she is the one he speaks to- which is truly mind blowing considering the misinformation between phone calls). She tells my husband they must have the wrong email address for him and thats why we didn't receive it. He gives her his email (which has not changed in like 15 years but I'm going to give her some grace at this point). Another week or so goes by and we still haven't gotten anything. He calls back. "Oh we've been having computer problems". We finally get the contract via email and a couple weeks later we get it in the mail. We get an inspection scheduled, pay the renewal fee, move on. I believe by the time it was done in 2017 it was either May or early June (definitely NOT march, which would have been the appropriate time). 2018 rolls around and once again, we never receive ANYTHING in the mail. After SEVERAL phone calls with MELISSA she sent a very nice gentleman (and I don't mean that sarcastically. He was the nicest person we dealt with in the last 4 years with this horrible company) came out the Friday before Labor Day and did our inspection, gave us a few things to fix (a wood pallet sitting too close to the house, a tree branch hanging over the house), got an additional inspection done to prove we took care of those things, paid our bill, moved on. It was the end of AUGUST of 2018 because, yet again, they never sent us anything in the mail to renew and it wasn't until we would realize 13 or 14 months in that we haven't heard from them and then we would have to initiate every piece of the process. And here we are in 2020. Get ready people. Never heard anything from them in 2019. Honestly they were so off schedule that we didn't realize it until APRIL of 2020 that it had been 1 1/2 years. So we call. My husband tells Melissa that we need to schedule an inspection and pay our renewal because its been a while and we haven't received anything in the mail or email. Again. Melissa tells my husband we do NOT need an inspection and we aren't due for any treatment until next year and NO WORRIES, because they are sending out their april invoices now and we will receive one in the mail but she'll also email it to us. I'm already confused because we've never received a renewal in April (she made it seem as if it was our normal renewal month so we just went with it because maybe that meant we are finally going to start receiving something on a normal basis). I also know we have always had an inspection so I open the email and lo and behold, it states to SCHEDULE OUR INSPECTION and send them a check. So again, my husband calls and has a conversation with Melissa and i'm sure he wasn't 100% pleasant because now he's just beyond frustrated with this crap shoot of a company. She proceeds to tell my husband that they have 3200 customers so they can't help it if sometimes things don't go out on time... I'm not sure if that is supposed to impress us? 3200 doesn't seem like much in a town this populated but thats besides the point. We finally get an inspection scheduled for the following week (April 2020). Our inspector shows up and proceeds to tell me how my husband called last week and the conversation between "him and melissa got heated" and he "overheard" the whole thing. So I explain that, while i'm sure it probably did, my husband was primarily frustrated over the fact that melissa said we didn't need an inspection when we obviously DO. This guy tells me that Melissa didn't say that (because clearly I have so much to gain by lying at this point???) He then tells me that they send out renewals 6-8 weeks before they are due every year for us to have time to schedule an inspection. HAHAHAHAHAHA i can't make this up y'all. I reiterate we have NEVER received ANYTHING in the mail on time, and in order to even get a renewal we have to call MORE than once EVERY year to get ANYTHING done. He tells me that clearly it's a problem with the post office. NEEDLESS to say, we will NEVER be giving them another dollar and i'm only writing this to make sure no one else endures the endless frustrations we have dealt with for over 4 years now. read more

When we first moved to Crestview, we thought we'd treat our house ourselves. We quickly realized we needed professionals and called Emerald Coast Pest Control. The problem was quickly resolved and with regular quarterly visits we have not had any problems in the six years since. All the employees are kind and helpful. If you like professionalism and quality customer service, do NOT use Emerald Coast Pest Control. The receptionist Melissa is rude, unprofessional and wouldn't know good customer service if it was standing right in front of her. She claims to be the owner, but I find that extremely hard to believe. She never returns phone calls and cannot complete simple tasks. Our first interaction in 2017 when I called to pay the annual renewal was her telling me she cancelled my warranty because it wasn't paid the prior year, before I bought the home in July 2016. My builder quickly resolved the issue by paying "an undisclosed fee", but Melissa didn't change her unprofessional attitude stating how lucky I was and how she'd never heard of such a thing happening before. Last month a bill arrived for three times the stated annual renewal, claiming to be the State-required five year treatment; when I called to ask questions and for a copy of the fee schedule so I'd know exactly what was owed each year, Melissa was again very rude and unprofessional. I still have not received a fee schedule and so I've moved on to another company (Bryan Pest Control). Good riddance Emerald Coast Pest Control. My recommendation to anyone considering business with ECPC is to run, not walk away and find another company. read more
