During my first visit I was warmly greeted by Daniel, who turned out to be the proprietor. Daniel, who had an encyclopedia of knowledge on cigars asked myself a few questions on my preferred flavor profile, favorite cigars, preferred size, etc. to ensure he gave an appropriate recommendation - which turned out to be of the better cigars I've had in awhile. It's always nice to have a shopkeeper who recommends the right product and not the most expensive cigar in the shop, as his recommendation was cheaper rather than what I would have chosen without his assistance. While unfortunately Washington State has an indoor smoking ban outside of tribal land - the staff with Brian and Hector, gave some great recommendations on outside areas where I could smoke including one that's not too far from the shop. Overall if looking for a boutique cigar in Seattle especially if in Downtown/Lake Union, I'd highly recommend popping into the Union Cigar Society.

Then, it's just a few steps over to the Obulus room for pure cigar chill-out mode. The room it's self is cozy with places to have conversations which is what I love. There is also a pool table, a ping pong table and what I think is a table for game or card playing? There was a TV there, but I think it was off when I was there. I was there on a Saturday, if it makes any difference, to purchase a couple of weeks worth of cigarettes. While looking around, a man came in to purchase a tin of Skoal Original and was disappointed to learn none was in stock. He had to settle for.a Skoal flavor style or have none at all. When my turn came I ordered a carton of a well known and popular brand of cigarettes, but was informed only six pks were available in the entire store. I bought those and settled for an additional four more of another brand. What are the chances of a large, specialty store with full shelves being out of two popular brands on a sunny, mid-morning shopping day unless inventory is being neglected. Or, perhaps the "paraphernalia", tobacco accessories and novelty kitsch are more important than satisfying the potentially return, local, customer who is there to purchase what any convenience store would keep in stock.
