Selecting Emerald Cinema for our wedding was the best decision we made! From the jump, Jonathan was super nice, accommodating, and amazing to work with. We had our engagement photoshoot with him and so many of the photos turned out lovely! We explained our vision and goals for the wedding and the Emerald Cinema crew absolutely delivered. They made sure we took every photo that we requested, helped hold my dress, and even did a few magic tricks LOL. We absolutely recommend Emerald Cinema and truly had the best experience because of them :) Also, get the photobooth and additional coverage hours, you won't regret it! read more

We hired Jonathan from Emerald Cinema Weddings as our videographer and he blew us away. He climbed around Donner Summit in high winds to get the aerial shots we had our hearts set on and ended up sacrificing his drone to make it happen. That's the kind of dedication you don't come across often and we can't thank him enough for doing that. Beyond that, he brought so much positive energy and gave us just the right amount of direction to feel confident and relaxed in front of the camera. Thank you Jonathan for giving it everything you had to capture our day the way we dreamed. read more

Jonathan and his team at Emerald Cinema were one of the best vendors we had on our wedding day! From the moment we first contacted Jonathan, he was extremely friendly and personable and took time to get to know us as a couple. We felt so comfortable with him throughout the entire process. We even miss working with him and connecting with him post wedding, that's how amazing he is! He was always available for questions or meetings leading up to the wedding day and did his absolute best to take in our ideas and for the types of photos and videos we would like- and his team definitely delivered :) He responds to texts and emails promptly and always made us feel special and a priority. On the wedding day, his team arrived promptly and was extremely professional- mindful of timelines and worked beautifully with our venue and coordinator. All our wedding party and family also felt so comfortable and cared for by the team. His team also works so efficiently, sending in Sneak Peeks within a few days and our wedding photos and videos arrived right on time (even earlier than we anticipated!) Emerald Cinemas had us at hello. From the first contact and their user friendly meeting planner/communication app, to their professionalism throughout engagement and ceremony of our daughter's wedding, they went above and beyond our expectations. After planning our first daughter's wedding and working with other vendors, we had a pretty good idea of what to expect with video and photography packages. Jonathan and team made it seamless and memorable with the perfect balance of calm and efficiency. They captured stunning images, sweet moments between the couple and guests, and knocked it out of the park with the video and images captured. What impressed us the most was how invisible they were on the day - hiding behind trees, angled to capture the moment but not stand in the way, moving quickly and on schedule but not feeling hurried. I don't know how they did it, but they were everywhere and yet preserved the sanctity of the day by allowing us to savor the moments and our guests to have full view as well. They followed through with each promised product and the end result made us feel like we were right back on the wedding day. We highly recommend Emerald Cinemas and hope to book them again in the future for daughter #3! read more

Emerald Cinema was fantastic for my wedding in January 2022. Approachability: Jonathan and his team was very approachable and organized. He displayed professionalism in all levels of communication, and made sure that you, as a stressed-out couple planning for the big day, would not be stressed out when it came to videography. I asked a lot of technical questions regarding his equipment, shooting style, and how his workflow on the day of. He was very passionate and transparent with his work, and I really appreciated that a lot from him. Communication: Jonathan has multiple ways to contact him. He was very prompt in all my questions and concerns. As the day nears (probably 1-2 months), there will be back-and-forth and expectations on what you should have prepared, so he can have a general understanding of your itinerary. Most of his bookkeeping is done digitally: such as digital contracts, e-mail reminders, forms, and payment portals. He organized a neat way to ensure you have things prepared for him and your big day. Videography: Jonathan is very talented and he'll make sure to capture your day in the best way possible. Depending on the packages you choose, you can have different shots such as: drone shots, Steadicam shots, up to 4 different angles, and good taste on choosing the type of B-roll shots for your edits. Given his long-time experience, he knows which shots to take for your edits. His editing process is very robust, and he will produce you quality edits. I think his color-grading will be dependent on the lighting of the area, but it's still satisfactory. I had some minor things I wanted fixed, and he made sure to address those issues. To be more clear, I'm quite a picky person when it comes to video since I edit videos myself. He did a great job and it was just as expected! Working with Photographers: One of the key things I asked Jonathan is his adaptability with other photographers. Given his profession, he's worked with countless photographers, and he himself would lead the photography if you choose his combo packages, so he knows the deal. He got along with my photographers really well, and they all had a great time. He communicated with them to ensure he doesn't get in certain photo shots (like during ceremony, reception, grand exit, etc.). Worth it?: Yes. I think he provided excellent services, with little stress. That's what made it ultimately worth it. I really enjoyed working with Jonathan and his team, and I'm so appreciative I can relive the experience of my wedding day forever on film, beautifully. My advice if you choose Emerald Cinema: Make sure you let Jonathan know what is most important to you. A videographer-specific itinerary would help lay out key things. If you have things you want fixed from his edits, lay it out specifically and when specifically, so that way he can get it to you as soon as possible. read more

We received our wedding films several weeks before the timeline that was listed in our contract with Emerald Cinema. The videos are wonderful and we're so happy with them. Emerald Cinema also kindly requested feedback on their videos and immediately incorporated the changes that we asked for. The changes were not corrections, either. They were specific changes to the audio that Emerald Cinema never would have known to make in the first place. read more

Where do we begin!! Emerald Cinema went above and beyond from our very first conversation to the wedding day! They made everything so seamless and captured the most memorable moments of our big day. I cannot suggest a better team for videography. Their work was impeccable and they got us back our wedding videos in a very timely manner.. even before scheduled! If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. Can a wedding video elicit more tears of joy than the actual wedding? Their filming at the church and our reception will forever be able to be relived, and the gorgeous editing of the final video are the ingredients that made so many of our family members wipe away tears of fond memories as we rewatched moments from the best day of our lives! Thank you, emerald cinema! You will forever hold a special place in our hearts! read more

When planning a wedding and forming a budget, the cost of everything can seem so overwhelming and makes you debate what you might not truly need. Look no further and book Emerald Cinema. I researched 17 different photographers and videographers in the Sacramento and SF area and they were by far the most reasonably priced company offering the premium services that I wanted. It was important to me that they offered both photo and video services. From the first communication with Jonathan to the day of our wedding her was always quick to respond and professional. He suggested a wide variety of locations for our engagement shoot. We ultimately went to both Crissy field and the Palace of Fine Arts and the photos were so great I have replaced close to all the photos in our home with photos from that shoot. He got back with photos quickly after both the engagement shoot and the wedding. The day of the wedding you will want Jonathan and his team by your side. He is positive, patient and will make sure you capture all the moments you want to remember on your wedding day. I am so happy we decided to go with Emerald Cinema and captured these special moments. We received a generous collection of beautifully edited videos (ranging from 1 minute to full length) from our wedding day (which included drone footage) which I had not planned on but am so happy that we have them now. Overall a great company. You can be confident that they will do a great job with your wedding. read more
