Omg where to begin... so I found Andrea via Yelp when looking for a photographer for engagement photos last year. Researched several on Yelp then went to Instagram to see what the pictures were like. Bucheli's photos were so clear and beautiful either at a park, wedding/inside or out, baby smash cake, grad photos, or a venue. Then I noticed people I knew on her page so then I asked them about her. I told my fiancé at the time I thought this was the person to use. I scrolled the website and saw wonderful packages (engagement photos and wedding coverage), had a phone call and I was sold. Fast forward to the engagement photo shoot. She gave ideas where to have the shoot at because we were clueless lol. I always have a vision of what I want but need the expert to pull it together lol. During the shoot, she helped in so many way, not just taking the best pictures but helping my fiancé at the time loosen up as he hates pictures lol. She made both of us feel so comfortable I couldn't wait to see the pictures. While heading to and from the photo shoot areas, we stopped along the way to take pictures that she thought would be great photos. Another perk- and they were AMAZING photos I might add! Fast forward to receiving the photos. Omg they were everything! We were so impressed and happy with the photos I probably downloaded 15 lol and then ordered canvas for my home and my parents home lol. I couldn't wait for the wedding. We chatted prior to the wedding via a questionnaire then like a week before a call to kind of plan arrival, the layout of the day, pictures, wants etc. Again, I knew who I wanted captured but what to capture and what order so I relied on her expertise. Again, I felt so comfortable doing so because of previous interactions and conversations. Call goes perfect and we're ready for the wedding. She arrives on time with her assistant and starts shooting. Let me tell y'all she was so patient because some people wanted pictures, wanted to be in pictures etc. she handled everyone so professionally probably better than I would've if I wasn't the bride but then again this is what she does. Night was amazing as she captured everything from our view. Then it's the wait 3 weeks for pictures but then she posted a sneak peek on her Instagram page and I was like "omg these are amazing can't wait to see the rest". Everyone who saw the sneak peek pictures were like "wow I can't wait to see the pictures". Me "if only they know they will not see the link". Anyways, the link comes on Friday and I'm so amazed how great they are. Andrea and her assistant caught everything so beautifully, now I have no idea how I'm going to choose pictures to print or put in the book! Lol. These are good problems to have. When my husband and I got engaged last December, we knew we didn't want to have a huge, lavish wedding with a lot of guests and expense. We began the search for a wedding photographer with an impressive portfolio within a reasonable budget to meet our needs as we didn't need to have full, all day coverage for our small, intimate "elopement" ceremony downtown. We began messaging various photographers on Yelp to ascertain their packages and pricing structure and ran across Bucheli Photography. We were instantly drawn to Andrea's photography style and liked seeing her expansive, varied portfolio - she was able to seamlessly mix casual, candid shots with carefully posed, well lit and framed formal portraits. We messaged her and were instantly blown away by how sweet, accommodating and helpful she was in discussing pricing, style and location options. We had a phone consultation to discuss our needs and budget, and based on our conversation she was able to draw up a contract outlining a perfect package for us that included an engagement session and an elopement package. She was kind enough to give us a discount as the pricing we initially saw was a bit lower than intended, which was very kind - she definitely didn't have to do that. We settled on meeting one month before our casual elopement at a local park for an engagement session. From the second we met Andrea in person, we were impressed by her unique eye for detail, and artistic talent. The day we met was cold and rainy (in February), but despite lugging around tons of equipment and being cold and wet, she had such an amazing energy and attitude. My husband and I instantly knew we made the right decision and felt at ease in our choice. We ended up with some of the most beautiful, unique engagement photos and looking back months later, I'm still in love with them! Andrea had our proofs edited and ready to go within just a few days and around 3 weeks later we had our small ceremony in downtown Sacramento. At our ceremony and reception, Andrea accommodated our family and friends perfectly and everyone raved to us about how sweet she was and her amazing personality. She instantly made everyone feel comfortable and relaxed, despite posing for tons of photos. She accommodated our request to walk to the Capitol for photos and took amazing shots in all kinds of lighting conditions - outdoor grey, late winter cloudiness, low light indoor candlelight etc. During our ceremony, we realized we wanted her to stay a bit longer than our original contract outlined, so we asked her last-minute to stay and take additional photos of toasts and cake cutting. Andrea accommodated it all with a smile and was more than willing to stay later and get all the photos we asked for and more. We received our proofs just a week or two later and were blown away by how beautiful and professional our photos were. We have so many phenomenal shots that I don't think I can ever choose one favorite. Even though our wedding was small and way less expensive and formal than other large weddings, Andrea still made us feel like our wedding and happiness was of paramount importance and never made us feel insignificant or unimportant because we had a small elopement package. I'll always recommend Andrea and her business to anyone looking for a wedding photographer, no matter how big your budget or plans are. When it decided to not just rain, but downpour, on our wedding day, with pictures planned to be taken outside at Tilden Park, Andrea Bucheli didn't just make it all better. She made it freaking fantastic. Andrea was the nicest, talented professional with super quality work from the get go. I found her on Yelp, checked out the website and had to see what it was all about. She showed us her work and sample albums (lots of different weddings, layouts, shots), explained her process over coffee, and genuinely took time to get to know us. She was easygoing and understanding and we knew we'd be happy to work with her on the big day -- really wanted to avoid that whole awkward Chandler smile situation for both of us. :) She sent us super clear contracts promptly, gave us the timeline, and scheduled a planning conversation as the big day got closer so we could work out the kind of shots (who and what) we wanted. After reading reviews and checking out bucheliphotography.com we contacted Andrea. She was more than willing to meet us in Berkeley for a consultation. As soon as the meeting was over, we immediately decided to book her for our wedding. Andrea is extremely easy to work with. She even came to Berkeley again to shoot our engagement session. All of our planning was done over the phone or via email to accommodate us, which she seemed totally okay with. As for the day of the wedding, Andrea did everything exactly the way we had discussed. The posed shots went very smoothly, and she managed to get a lot of candids while remaining pretty inconspicuous. Hey, that's what you want in a wedding photographer, right?! The photos turned out perfect. We're still trying to decide which ones to have printed, but that's due to the fact there are so many great pics! Bottom line: Andrea is a fantastic photographer who is a pleasure to work with, makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera, is willing to travel to the Bay Area (as well as Tahoe, I believe) and offers very reasonable prices. Our package included a free engagement session in Sacramento and the photos were amazing. Even though we live in the Richmond area, we took a trip up there and it was so fun.
