A few weeks before my little one came into the world I realized I hadn't spent any energy capturing the wonderful experience of my first pregnancy. After mildly panicking, I found Valerie of Tilted Crown Photography. I looked through her portfolio and read about her philosophy as a photographer and decided to reach out. I had a lifestyle photography session with Valerie in late September. I did a lot of research and found that her wholistic approach would create great results. I was/am not disappointed. She spent some time getting to know me. She was very comfortable to chat with and eager to find ways to convey my personality through photography. We had a few phone calls discussing my tastes, personality, goals, what her ideas and goals were. Together we worked to form a plan for the session. She gave me a few pointers to follow to ensure the best photos such as skin care, when to get a haircut, and wardrobe styling. I was surprised that Valerie provided much more than photographs. I recently had a photography session with my grandmother and two young boys and Valerie knocked it out of the park! Before the shoot, she called me and asked questions about my kids personalities, my expectations and what I wanted to capture. We'be used Valerie for our family photos for two years now and we won't be going anywhere else! She is our favorite to photograph with not only because she's awesome but especially because she's so great with my kids. First off I wanna say how quick Valerie responds. Unfortunately the first day we originally scheduled got rained out and the location we originally had wouldn't have been easy to take photo, but luckily Valerie was very accommodating and was able to schedule for the week after at a new location where the rain wouldn't bother us as much as the previous location. On the day of the photoshoot it didn't rain and we were able to do everything we envisioned. I loved working with Valerie too. She came highly recommended by our friends who had collaborated with her on a newborn photoshoot for their firstborn son, and when we saw she had produced remarkable quality photographs, it inspired us to do the same for our daughter. I wanted to commemorate my 30th birthday with pictures, so I started searching for photographers. I found Valerie on a whim via social media and reached out. Right away she was incredibly responsive and organized. I decided to do my 30th photoshoot with Valerie and honestly, it was the best decision I could have made. She literally gave me all I wanted and MORE!!! My main idea was to really have a nice classy/elegant theme with a black background and I just didn't know what exactly I wanted. Valerie gave the idea of shooting at a restaurant and not only did she make it happen but she was able to get exactly the restaurant I wanted. It couldn't have been a better experience than this. When you hear people describe themselves as a creative director you have a lot of expectations. Valerie definitely lives up to those standards. I had 2 main outfits where I chose a traditional wear and then a gorgeous bright red dress to bring in my western upbringing as well. Because of how my session was set up I was able to get an extra outfit in. Every single outfit and the photos taken were so perfect in their own way. What I love the most from this is the amount of images we get to have. We don't have to choose a specific amount and legit get all the ones you want and even ones you didn't even know you wanted. We had the best experience with Valerie! We had her do our family photos and I also specifically asked her to get some extra photos of just my girls (who are 2 and 5) because I don't have many aside from cell phone photos.
