This was sadly the worst Embassy Suites experience I've ever had. We love the ES and have been fans for decades because my dad swoons over the breakfast, but this ES was beyond horrible. First be aware: there are hidden fees disguised as a daily $25 destination charge, $16 laundry charge and premium wifi. You can't opt out of this. It is taken from your $300 deposit. Second: forget about using the elevators. Two were out of use due to maintenance so people were literally either standing in line for over 10 minutes for the elevator or taking the stairs up and down 8 or 9 floors. Terrible if you have chronic pain and can't stand for long. Third: It's overcrowded and practically a circus. If you can manage to get on the elevator to make it down to breakfast, you'll have to battle the ridiculously long lines and have nowhere to sit. That's even if you go when it opens at 7:30am. Parking is $65/night. You can't use a trolly to take your own bags to your room. Although much of the staff here is more robotic and lacking empathy, I did manage to have a lovely lovely experience with manager Sonja.

We have become fans of Chicago and have visited now twice; once in the Fall and this time in December. We are Hilton folks and wanted to try this hotel due to the central location. We are perfectly happy with the consistency with Embassy Suites. The rooms aren't anything special but they are clean and comfortable. We were placed into a room that was part of a special event though we hadn't asked for it. The special was a treat basket full of snacks, juice and soft drinks. Yummy!! Overall, the free breakfast is good and can be crowded depending on when you go. Happy hour beverage is good, snacks are drab. A few chips and that's about it. A great place to stay while in Chicago and certainly with kids. The place was busy since it's the holiday season.

Pros: - great location, walking distance to the river, millennium park, navy pier, waterfront. Close to plenty of restaurants (including Lou Malnetti's and Giordano's for deep dish), coffee shops, drinks - Beautiful, modern looking hotel with great views of the city and some view of Lake Michigan - Breakfast has ready-to-order omelets that are made quick and delicious and a buffet of eggs, bacon/sausage, pancakes. - 2 complimentary drinks per person and snacks between 5:30pm-7pm - Pool is great for swimming laps. Fitness center is nice. No jacuzzi. - Great service, told us about the Taste of Chicago and let us late checkout at 12pm instead of 11am - TV has streaming and live TV Cons - Parking costs a fortune. Also they charge you $25 per day that you can make up for by buying $25 worth of food/drink at the hotel's bar/restaurant

We were really hoping to write a stellar review of our recent stay at Embassy Suites, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case this time around. To start with the positives, the room and suite were very comfortable -- spacious, clean, and nicely laid out. The location is also excellent, within walking distance of The Bean and plenty of great restaurants and shops, which made exploring the city really enjoyable. The complimentary breakfast is another highlight, especially the made-to-order omelets and hot options. Just be sure to get there early, because the line for omelets can get long during peak times. However, several issues made the experience less than ideal. The shower amenities, which are mounted on the wall (gel, conditioner, shampoo), are a nice concept -- but during my shower, the conditioner dispenser actually fell off the wall into the tub, nearly hitting my foot. It could have been a minor accident waiting to happen. On top of that, both phones in the room were broken, so maintenance had to come up and fix all three things (the dispenser and the two phones). We also had some frustration with the hotel restaurant and bar. The front desk told us it would open at 3 p.m., but that turned out not to be the case. When it finally did open, we were told it would be at least 30 minutes before food could be served -- not exactly what you want to hear after waiting around. We ended up speaking with the manager, who was very professional and understanding. She handled it well by sending us to the main restaurant on the hotel's lobby level, where our bill was covered. That gesture was appreciated and showed good customer service. The elevators were another challenge, as one set of elevator banks was being renovated, leading to long waits at busy times. And even though we were on the 10th floor, we were awakened around 4 a.m. by a fire engine horn blaring outside -- not the hotel's fault, of course, but something to keep in mind if you're a light sleeper. A quick tip: be sure to give your Hilton Honors number at check-in so you can earn points and rewards for your stay. Overall, Embassy Suites has a lot going for it -- a great location, spacious rooms, and a solid breakfast -- but the maintenance problems, restaurant confusion, and elevator delays took away from what could have been a five-star stay. Hopefully, with a few fixes and better communication, future visits will be smoother. I would like to stay here again but I do hope they make it better!

I loved my stay at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile. It was clear from moment one that the location would make my trip unforgettable. While most people rave about the large rooms, free cooked-to-order breakfast and happy hour cocktails, I loved the hotel location! The housekeeping staff also make sure the rooms are spotless. I was in a suite on the 15th floor with amazing views and the room even had three sinks. I found that extra space made getting ready much easier. The gym was good. The elevators were fast. The staff was nice. The internet was fast for Zoom meetings. All in all, the Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile really has something for everyone.

Avoid at all costs! The rooms are dilapidated, NO hot water on a Monday at 17:00 , Dirt stains in the bathtub....if it weren't for the staff, this place would be a total loss! I've stayed at a LOT of Hilton properties around the World and this one is ridiculously sub-par! The pull out bed had a huge sunken middle, the blinds to the hallway were broken, the bathroom mirror was peeling away from the borders and even had a sticker in the middle of it that had never been removed. Even free breakfast doesn't make this place worth a dime. Fortunately, the staff are friendly. But, if you don't want to stay in squalor, with schizophrenic thermostat, and sometimes-working hot water, avoid this dump. Hilton, you should be ashamed this place carries your name. So sad.

We had a fantastic stay at the Embassy Suites! Our room was upgraded by the staff member at the front desk to a holiday suite and it made our stay so much more memorable, magical and special!!! I hope the staff member who checked us in knows how much it made our entire visit! We originally booked a room with a city view and our holiday suite absolutely had a stunning view for us, too. The breakfast offered each morning was delicious! The pool was great and the pool area included a sauna and that was awesome too. The hotel was conveniently located. There was so much to like about staying here! I would say like most hotels the bathroom could use some extra TLC. One of our folded towels was either dirty or stained and either way it really grossed me out. The tub portion of the shower looked a bit worn and dirty. And there was some mold growing on the ceiling above the shower. Overall, this place was stunning with so many things to enjoy about staying specifically here. For me it comes down to this one question: would I suggest this place for family & friends traveling to Chicago? Absolutely yes I would and we'd stay here again on future visits.

Like other downtown Embassy locations I've been to, check in is not available upon entry. You have to get on an elevator to the main lobby area. Check in took about 10 minutes because it was a bit busy but was seamless. We did not pay for a city or lake view but were placed in room 802 that had an AMAZING view. It was mostly a city view, but to the left you could also see the lake. The elevators took a while sometimes but it wasn't too bad. The breakfast wasn't delicious but it was good enough. The evening reception was okay - the snacks were pretty basic (cheese, pretzels, old vegetables and ranch) and the bartenders weren't that friendly but very quick and dealt with the foot traffic expeditiously. Both the host at breakfast and the bartenders at the evening reception check for the vouchers given at check in. The location is ideal for Michigan Avenue and Navy Pier attractions. Most ubers to main attractions were less than $10 and walking is an option.

In town for the Cubs Convention and this was our Thursday night spot. The hotel has a convenient self parking feature right next door. The hotel offers a pool, a Happy Hour, and breakfast. Although the hotel has many guests-the buffet is set up wonderfully with little to no waiting. This spot is a great location; a few blocks from the beach and close to many shops & restaurants.

    Bed bugs!
    Sondra Z.

Bed bugs! If I could give zero stars I would. The first night my daughter went to bed with no bites/marks on her and woke up with nearly two dozen bites on her shoulders and back. The hotel denied any issues with bed bugs - even though when I spoke to them about it they said, "yes, you called earlier?", which I hadn't so clearly another guest also had issues. It was Thanksgiving weekend so impossible to switch hotels. They did let us move rooms after I insisted and gave us an insulting 10% discount on our stay. Meanwhile my daughter had an allergic reaction to the bites and is covered in angry red/purple bruises all over her back. The worst part was the lack of empathy from the hotel, they denied everything, I now what it feels like to be gaslighted!

I am definitely staying at a embassy suite when I visit in a few weeks. I'm curious to know which one is near landmarks and shopping?

This hotel was located within the loop near the river, shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel rooms are basic and small. We were fortunate to get an upgraded room with two queen beds and an amazing view out the window of the city. The window was large and clean. The beds were comfy with ample pillows. Four pillows were provided. The hotel set up is a bit awkward. Room is best for one person as lacks storage for large luggage. Plus there is not a defined bathroom. The shower is within the bedroom. Fortunately the shower was frosted but you walk right into the bedroom so you must be comfortable with those you stay with. Plus the room does really have a deck and chair to work. The desk is a fold down from the wall. The chair for the deck is located on the wall and not really suitable for long term working on sitting as does not have a back to it. The best thing above this hotel are the staff. The front desk staff are super friendly and accommodating and aim to please. The bartender was super friendly and attentive as well. Lastly parking is not available right at the hotel. You have to walk two blocks. Plus parking cost 59 dollars and that's the discounted rate. Also not really a suitable place to drop luggage off. If you pull up to the front door, you are blocking traffic. Base on price of 400 dollars the night we stayed, I would say it's not worth the stay. Maybe it's worth 200 or less for Chicago.

I want to say that I have had my eye on this hotel for a while now after looking for Hilton hotel locations with a peloton bike, which this one has. Other than that, I loved that the location of this hotel sits in the heart of Chicago, surrounding a plethora of activities which made it the perfect choice for hotel stay to celebrate. Okay, it was an experience going up to the lobby area to check in at this hotel, a blonde moment as I am known for if you follow my reviews. The lobby is located on the 4th floor, so be sure to choose "L" for the lobby because there is no 4th floor button listed in the elevator. Me and two other hotel guests had an adventure going up to the lobby area after trying to figure out where the 4th floor button was. My experience with the receptionist working behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already booked through Hilton Honors, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing on what is offered, and the receptionist giving me my room key. For your information, check-in starts at 4:00 PM and check-out ends at 12:00 PM! If you have the Hilton honors application, there is the opportunity to check in with the application, choosing your room, and receiving a digital key, which will allow you to go to your room contactless without seeing a receptionist upon your arrival. I have not used this method, but if you are interested in no contact whatsoever then you can use it with the Hilton Honors application. After locating and entering my room, I thought to myself this is fancy once I took notice of the design and interior color which appeared so elegant! There was a variation of vibrant colors in the room from its curtains to the headboard of the king-size bed, the carpet, and a gold chair that looked like something out of your grandmother's house. Out of all, I just could not take my eyes off the curtains which reminded me of cherry blossoms because of the colors. Inside the bathroom there were liquid products by Gilchrist & Soames Zero% attached to the wall. Throughout my travels, I have noticed that hotels have completely dealt away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that made great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable in the king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in between the comfortable pillows. While utilizing the shower, I really enjoyed the water pressure; its soothing pressure made me feel very cleansed during each usage. It was wonderful toggling with the spray patterns, with the addictive feel of the pressure hitting my face and body. Other things the room came with that I noticed were a comforter, an iron, ironing board, blow dryer, safe, comforter, a coffee maker (Hamilton Beach), a mini refrigerator, microwave, and USB and AC plugins attached to either the headboard of the bed, lamps, or the television cabinet, which added a nice touch to the room. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. Hampton Inn Majestic, as expected, had an exceptionally beautiful inner interior! As a fitness enthusiast, it was great having a fitness center onsite because it allowed me to keep up with my fitness routines during my stay. I must say that I was pleased to see several dumbbell weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, a decent selection of workout machines, and two peloton fitness bikes which charmed me out of my panties once I spotted them. And oh, honey did I enjoy it on my birthday with the lovely Hannah Frankson as my peloton instructor, who put my legs through torture during her low impact workout. Having the complimentary breakfast was a relief because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant for breakfast in the morning. And I was highly satisfied with the quality of what was presented. It is served daily from 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM. For you all visiting the city of Chicago, there are plentiful sights, activities, and restaurants within a radius of Hampton Inn Majestic. As a resident, a few that I adore are Willis Tower, Millennium Park, and the Art Institute of Chicago! Next door is the CIBC Theatre, which I noticed upon my initial arrival at the hotel. And if you are looking to explore the city or outer part of the city, the Chicago Union Station, and CTA Train Station are very accessible to-and-from. I would surely book Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theatre District again due to my experience with it because the hotel met my comfort needs, and I loved that its location is within an accessible distance of things of interest in downtown Chicago. ~ Live every moment ~ Thomas G

I will definitely look to stay here again the next time I'm in Chicago and hope to have the same wonderful experience.

Clean lines, moody lighting, and that subtle blend of science-meets-art that somehow feels both curated and effortless. The art isn't decorative filler; it's intentional. The whole property has that boutique confidence: not loud, not trendy-for-the-sake-of-trendy...just precise. The aesthetic walks a tightrope between laboratory chic and soulful design, and it doesn't fall. The restaurant deserves its own paragraph. The olive cake alone should have a publicist. The food is thoughtful, layered, and memorable without being pretentious. It feels like someone actually tasted everything before approving the menu; which, these days, is not a given. Location? Ideal. Walkable, central, easy. The gym? Surprisingly solid. Not the sad afterthought treadmill situation. An actual usable space. But here's the thing. Beautiful rooms fade. Art becomes background. Even olive cake, tragically, gets finished. What stays is service. And Nia. Nia is the reason my long stay didn't feel like a stay. It felt like being known. Her smile isn't transactional. Her care isn't performative. The attention to detail is quiet and precise. She remembered my name everyday and I was there for a while. Makes you think, "Oh, someone is actually paying attention." There's a difference between service and hospitality. Nia understands the difference. That's what brings you back.

Our view was stunning and I loved I could see downtown and the river from our room. We booked the cinema suite for a cute movie night and I loved that. Although we grew up in the Chicago suburbs and know the city well, it was our first time staying at the Langham, and it left a strong impression. The most striking aspect was how spacious the room felt. We likely stayed in a Premier Room, which was quite large by city standards. The bed was massive, very comfortable, and just the right firmness. A detail that stands out is the space between the foot of the bed and the wall where the TV was mounted, which makes the room feel open and calm rather than cramped. The décor was elegant without feeling stuffy, highlighted by thoughtful touches like an espresso machine. The bathroom was another highlight: the frosted-glass window offered privacy while maintaining a sense of connection, and the rain shower had excellent water pressure and felt indulgent. The location is fantastic, convenient for work in the Loop, time in Grant Park, shopping on Michigan Avenue, or dining in River North or Fulton Market. During our trip, we ate nearby both nights, which made getting around easy and stress-free. The staff was warm and helpful throughout our stay, and breakfast at the hotel restaurant was memorable, even if the details are a bit hazy now. The lobby is beautiful, and several family members who stayed with us also commented on how much they enjoyed the hotel. At the time, pricing felt mid-range for a luxury hotel in Chicago, offering excellent value. It was summer, likely a less expensive time to visit, but even so, considering the room size, comfort, service, and location, it seemed like money well spent year-round. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. We would happily return and are eager to explore other Langham properties worldwide.

Everything was great until I checked out and discovered that I had been charged $88 per night for parking. That was quite unexpected. I had been in Chicago just a few months earlier and had paid $55 at the L7 Hotel. So I was shocked that the JW could charge so much. How is their valet parking better than the valet parking at the L7? I realize now that had I been traveling alone, and not with my family, it would have been cheaper to fly to Chicago, than drive the 4.5 hours from Ohio. Apparently the hospitality industry hasn't caught on to the current affordability crisis, or at least Marriott hasn't.

Check in is quick, rooms are fine (and clean), and the executive lounge is nice. I was warned about eating in the bar on the first floor, which I hadn't done in a few years, but it was getting late, and the weather stunk. I saw friends in the bar area, so I took root at the table nearby. Service was fine, and I enjoyed a few of the Amber bee on draft. The menu looked good, and I ended up with a steak fried rice bowl. The steak was gross. It didn't even look like steak that should be served. It was fatty and tasteless. I ate less than 1/2 the rice and 1/3 of the steak. I wasn't starving, so it wasn't a huge deal, but those who told me to avoid the bar area for food were right.

Both have incredible views but I would definitely recommend having at least one meal on the Miru patio if you are there during nice weather. -I was most surprised by their massive gym and has stunning views. It's also open 24 hours. They offered Pilates classes as well for an extra fee. -the hotel is brand new and all the finishes are so high end. The rooms are clean and quiet. The hallways are huge and felt like a maze to navigate but it also added to feeling of privacy. -there were so many high end details that made it extra special (the cozy Frette bath robes, welcome drinks, treat box in the room upon arrival, and the accent lighting in the room). -the location. It's just across the river from the heart of Michigan ave on the north end of a residential development. You don't feel like you are in the middle of the chaos of the city but the park, lake front and river are footsteps away. Negatives: -view was underwhelming ( fourth floor river view . Might choose the park view next time. I'd also recommend not facing the river as there was lots of honking/noise. -the room layout was awkward. They have this huge desk between the bed and tv. The full length mirror is a down a long hallway from bathroom/ where you would be getting dressed. -the room service comes on these huge heavy trays. The staff seemed like they were straining under the weight of it/ it was awkward. -I'd probably skip the spa/massage -$90/ day parking. Was able to do a spothero for about $40 next door.
