This is a follow-up review. My daughter's cats name is Winx. She named him that because he had a winky eye (unfortunately). He was a stray that she decided to take in. He was near death and only a little over 4 pounds. Now he is 11.6 pounds. We decided to take him back to Emancipet to get neutered (now that he was strong enough), and also have surgery on his eye. This surgery is called Entropion. It's a inward turning of his eyelid that is very irritating for him. Emancipet was great! They did both surgeries the same day! I had to take him back to get his stitches out (from his eye surgery) after 4 weeks. She has only had him for almost 4 months and he looks like a different cat! We are so thankful to Emancipet and would highly recommended them. P.S. Neutering for cats is $89. The Entropion surgery was a little over $300 (sorry I can't quite remember).

I was googling how much neutering surgeries cost and was getting ranges from $50-500. Then I get a quote from my own vet for ~$1,000, and almost lost my mind! Where do I go to get my dog neutered for $50-500? Thank God for Emancipet. Just from reading reviews left by other fellow Yelp reviewers, I felt comfortable taking my dog there to get neutered. An appointment was easily set up via the phone with simple instructions provided. They did not try to scare me the way my vet tried to. On the day of the neutering, I was worried. Those fears that were drilled into my head by my vet returned. I had to sign a waiver in case of accidents, which did worry me at first. But then, the logical voice in my head reminded myself that Emancipet does this on a daily basis and has done enough of these to not mess up. Look at the other 14 other dogs around us who would be getting neutered too! I signed the waiver and left my dog with the vet tech. 5 hours later, I got a call that the neutering was completed and for me to come pick up my dog. As I write this review 2 months later, I am still extremely thankful for Emancipet. They did a great job with the neutering. My dog could not have been taken care of any better. I am just so thankful for Emancipet for all they do and what they stand for. Make sure to leave a nice donation (if you can) if you do utilize their services!

Another YELP find! My pup was approaching her 1 year birthday and we wanted to get her spayed prior to that for the typical health benefits. I initially stumbled on Paws in Grays Ferry as it's closer to where I stay, but due to Covid they had not yet resumed their dog spay/neuter service at the time I was seeking an appointment. I visited Emancipet's website and completed a quick questionnaire that confirmed my interest in their services, and was called back by a rep in less than 30 minutes to set up an appointment. The day of the procedure they advise that you prepare to be on site for up to 45 mins for their check in process, however things moved swiftly and efficiently. The staff are friendly and informative. The pre and post-op instructions are clear and communicated in a manner that's easy to understand.

Once you get past the line is a fast pace wait time , professional and clean area , they do not allow you back with your pet though , prices are reasonable and service is great , veterinarians come out and talk with you with concerns of your pet , I recommend this place , it's not for emergency situations though

FANTASTIC! Our pup Bella got spayed here about 2 months ago. She went in that morning we picked her up in the evening. She slept the first night and then boom. The next day it was like she never even got spayed. Brand new pup- happy and healthy. Fast recovery. The staff was very knowledgeable- they sent us home with informational packets and extra medicine ($6) Some of the cons: it is a low cost service so there were a TON of people in there. It seemed like a few homeless with their pets which I thought was very cool. It's amazing that a company would provide this lower cost service so that everyone can take care of their pet the way they should be. We are going to continue to financially support and bring our pup back here. THANK YOU emancipet for all you guys do!

    Moo moo pitty.

Then you need to make sure they're enjoying doing it. Lastly, you need it done right. It's a skill. Philabundance clearly understands this and has the entire process mastered - from check in to departure. I arrived to work with a group of colleagues from my company. The volunteers have their own parking spaces and their own sign in and waiting area. Cleverly they have these little kiosk things that allow you to use your credit card and make an instant donation that adds to a total for your group. Nice. Tables, chairs, clear lockers for storing personal goods, heavy coats along one wall for those working in the refrigerated area. We had a brief orientation where they talked about the mission of Philabundance, then we were split into two projects. I was on a project making up food boxes for elderly people in need. They reviewed what each of us did and we were off. The boxes came along a conveyer belt and we all had stations. I kept thinking of the "I Love Lucy" episode and smiled to myself. We worked a total of 3 1/2 hours with a 20 minute break halfway through. We made up our goal of boxes - 600 - and helped the other team package pints of milk in the cooler area when we were done. Group photo on the way out, and we were leaving feeling accomplished and happy. They were professional, friendly and very organized. Impressed.

Whatever your faith or place in this world this home and center opens its doors for quiet and discernment. Sister Maria explained that the history of the house has always been for justice and discernment so there is a rich legacy on these grounds from those who were here before. There is also a quiet beautiful cemetery nearby for long walks and quiet reflection. The room I stayed in had big windows and natural light poured in during the day. I am already planning my next silent meditation retreat. (The center also offers big beautiful rental spaces for gathering. ) Thank you for the love, Cranaleith!

I highly recommend it to anyone desiring a break from worldly cares to rest and rejuvenate. The site is easily reached by commuter train from Philadelphia and the house has an interesting history as host to suffragettes like Susan B. Anthony.
