This agency has moved and is now located at 537 Nicholson Road, opposite the Walmart, Applebee's,…read moreacme complex. It's a huge building with lots of senior services including an adult daycare, Home Health Aides, very reasonably cost senior transportation, and a host of other programs that they offer to low income senior citizens in Camden and Burlington county. I'm very fortunate my mother lives in their catchment area as she needs the medical transportation. We've just begun this relationship with this organization and I've been impressed with how they manage to provide services even though they are operating on such a low-budget. I was happy to make a donation to them as I could see it goes directly into helping seniors like my mother. The staff there is so pleasant to work with and are dedicated and do such a good job. I will say however that because of the low budget and staffing and the reduced number of hours with the medical transport you have to make the calls in on time in the morning to schedule and it's required two weeks in advance for scheduling medical appointments and you have to call the day before to confirm every appointment. With more money I'm sure they can become more and more automated in this process or at least have more vans and more staff available. My mother said that so far the drivers were very nice and they were on time and that they drive good too. And that is high praise from my mother.

I wouldn't call it a business but, since it's here I will review it. Anything less than five stars…read morewould be criminal. This organization transcends the usual And accepted use of Yelp. They provide places for people to stay and help them find work. Project H.O.M.E. has a great mission statement: http://www.projecthome.org/about/, "The mission of…read morethe Project H.O.M.E. community is to empower adults, children, and families to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty, to alleviate the underlying causes of poverty, and to enable all of us to attain our fullest potential as individuals and as members of the broader society. We strive to create a safe and respectful environment where we support each other in our struggles for self-esteem, recovery, and the confidence to move toward self-actualization. " I started giving $5 once in a while to Project H.O.M.E., especially in the winter time, when someone would walk into the convenience store begging for a cigarette, or buying a potato.... where I was dropping $4 for a Kombucha and you know, $5 can go a long way. They make it easy to donate online http://www.projecthome.org/donate/, so you can do it often - you don't have to hurl over $100 at a time. They also have a great website dedicated to telling you all about their work, and publish a newsletter about the people they help. Men, women and children really have a voice, and these people really care. This is a great place to do your holiday shopping. This year because of the snow (it would have cost $100 to FedEx just before the holidays), and total lack of feeling like shopping for another craptastic gift, I opted to send my family members a note that said I gave such and such amount in your honor. Project HOME shoots you an e-mail immediately, so you can gift very quickly and easily. I think my mom was mad at first, but then she really loved it, and I bet next year I'll get something similar - instead of two pounds of See's candies... ugh. Also, they are always looking for volunteers, and have job positions open all the time!
