I used Emancipet for my 3 dogs up until 2021 when I moved to Georgetown. I had no problem with them. However, since I'm moving back to Round Rock next month, I wouldn't even consider taking a pet worm to them after reading the reviews. Too bad a once excellent service now sucks!! Sounds like they need more employees with more experience, empathy, caring, good customer service skills, etc. & overall office & clinical oversight with clearly stated changes for services rendered that guarantees much better, consistent service with great communication skills! Great, efficient service and prices! I came on a Saturday morning after booking a spay and neuter appointment online for 2 cats 3-4 weeks in advance. Check-in was really smooth, took about 45 minutes as expected. Staff were kind. Clear post-op instructions. I was contacted via text when they were ready for pick up. I'm very unfamiliar with the spaying and neutering of pets. This was my first go around with my male, 8 month old lab mix. The appointment for his neutering in June was set in February if this year. As the big day was approaching Emancipet began sending notifications and emails almost two weeks before. I appreciated the reminder as well as the post-operation information/instructions. The morning of the appointment we were told to show up by 8 AM for check in. We did so, and we let the front desk staff know that our dog was a little reactive to other dogs. They were very accommodating and told us that we could take him to a room separate from the other dogs and cats. It was super helpful and put us at ease. The staff were very nice and they seemed to have everything orderly, which we appreciated, especially given the fact that there were so many animals all in one place. We left our dog with Emancipet at 8 AM and received a text stating he was ready at around 2:30 PM. You pay upon pick up--I am so grateful that they don't charge a crazy amount--for his neutering, a cone (e-collar) and nail trim we paid $100, what a deal!!!! When they brought him out to meet me he of course did not look very happy, but who would? The staff stated to me reminders about some post-operative care tips and then sent me on my way. I'm not sure why I haven't made a review sooner, but I have taken all four of my dogs here to get spay or neutered over the years. The last being a couple of weeks ago for my two boys. The front desk was amazing. They have to deal with a huge crowd of people that are just busting in at the same time and being able to keep it organized and wrangled, I was very impressed with it. There is no rhyme or reason though they don't go in order to who shows up or not. I was a little confused as I think my dogs were the last ones to get taken in but they still had it handled in a really timely fashion. They give you good communication to let you know that it's 45 minutes. Be prepared and then you could do your add-ons. My puppies were ready early and they were a little Spacey and out of it but happy boys so I will always recommend here for Loca spay and neuters as well as vaccinations. They are fabulous! read more

I called my vet in the morning to get my dogs up to date on vaccines and get my new puppy dewormed and all the other stuff new puppy owners get for their dogs- well, they said they couldn't see me for 3 weeks!!! Off to the internet I go to find an affordable place and emancipet popped up. I am so glad to have found them because it saved me a ton of money!!! Pro tip- go in the morning and put your name on the waitlist (must be done in person) and they'll collect your info. You'll receive a text that has a link to the waitlist so you can see your place in line AND they text you 30 minutes prior to your appt. When we arrived it did take 1.5 hours for us to be done. That was hard with 2 kids but I'm ok with it because it was such a great deal!! I paid $370 for the following THERE IS A $20 OFFICE VISIT FEE PER PET. And my puppy didn't seem bothered when he got any of the shots or chipping. I also received an email letting me know when he got his 2nd round of shots instead of having to guess or call back to see when I should bring him back. Checked my puppy in for the "Walk-in" vaccinations and micro-chip she needs. Told the approximate wait time was 65 minutes. I was a little shocked by that but said ok. What they don't tell you is that pets needing meds and prescriptions refilled, or literally anything else go in front of everyone on the wait list. Let's just say after 2 1/2 hours I walked out. If you go to a restaurant and get on the wait list you can usually be seated within the approximate time that you were given within reason. Extremely disappointed. Our normal vets office was closed and we needed to get the dogs shots before we went camping, so we figured we try Emancipet. It was just vaccinations after all. Arrived at 10 and appeared to be a couple people in front of us. Had 4 dogs to get shots, one also needed to get microchipped. According to the website, It's first come first serve. However, they don't tell you that if a pet comes in on gabapentin, they go to the front of the line. Was told it would be about 30 to 35 minutes as I they were checking us in. Then 40 to 45 minutes by the time they were done. Over an hour and a half later, they finally called us in. On top of the extended wait, there was a $20 per pet office visit fee - $80 extra in my case. I told them i looked up the vaccination and microchip fees on the website and didn't see anything about an office visit per pet fee, nor did they mention it when I called on Monday to ask about bringing in four dogs. They said it's on the board and pointed to a chalkboard 'menu'. I said I looked the prices up online, so I didn't pay attention to the board. When I got home, I double checked the website to make sure I didn't miss anything. Not only is there not a office fee mentioned for vaccinations or microchips, there's no mention of an office fee at all. For any procedure. I told them we would not be coming back. read more

We've been coming to Emancipet for 4 years now to get our pet's preventative medication and vaccinations. If you're thinking about visiting on weekends, my piece of advice: come an hour early before they open, it'll save you hours of waiting for the rest of the day. There is usually a line before they open and sign-in occurs approximately half an hour before doors open. If you come in an hour or two after they open, expect to wait 3-4+ hours for service. I went to this location and the front staff person I spoke with I think her name was Makenzie Parks that's the name on my receipt, she was very rude. As I was standing in line Makenzie looks to her coworker and says don't sign anyone else in. She seemed annoyed that they were busy. I was pointed to the scale for me to weight my dog. I guess she couldn't be bothered to get up and assist. If she can't handle a 3hour workload maybe she should find employment elsewhere. read more

I hate to write this review; however, I was EXTREMLY disappointed in the disappointed when picking up my dog from his neuter appointment. First, I want to say that I have sympathy and understanding of the situation, but the communication could have been better upon being sent a text for his pick-up. When I arrived to pick him up, the admin/tech commented that he smells, and I did not think anything of it as I dropped him off at 8am and picked him up at 3:30pm. I noticed his butt was wet and I asked why, they told me that he had pooped and peed on himself. I am beyond upset that they allowed any animal to sit in their own poop and pee, I get they are busy, but I know they clean out that kennel for others and if they couldn't help my dog, I wish they told me ahead of time when they sent me a text for pick-up. BE AWARE, Emancipet is also under a lawsuit for dogs waking up after a sedative, if I had known that I would never have taken him here. They charge you for a visit clinic (but they don't check your dogs temperature, weight, heart or ears) . you think that is cheap but for vaccinations as Bordetella and leptospirose shot you have to pay for a "boost" and another clinic visit after 4 weeks. The cost is nice very inexpensive. but if you show up and early to be one of the first people. You get told to go sit in your car or walk around but you can stand in front of the door. And if you listen to them and wait till they open to come back up to the door. You get skipped and get told oh well not my issue is sad that they won't keep a honor system by saying hey they where first and have listened to what was asked. I brought my mini Aussie here to get spayed over the weekend and had the easiest experience I could've wished for with the thought of having this procedure done. There was a line of people outside waiting to get in prior to the store opening but as soon as it was 8am they started taking dogs back. Turns out the de worker they use isn't recommended and doesn't take care of well any thing. Also you have to wait to see the front desk. I took my dog Chip here today for the very first time and I think this place is AWESOME. They don't take appointments unless it's for spay/neuter otherwise they simply run off of walk in's. This place gets busy and very quickly when it comes to walk in's so the sooner you bring your pet in, the quicker you'll be seen. We arrived around 1:00 and were greeted immediately and informed on how appointments work by the front desk staff. As soon as you get there you're added to a list and they text you 30 minutes before your pets turn. Since this place is so affordable, it was quite a wait until we were seen so after we were added to the list we left to run some errands. Our dog was finally seen around 4:45 so the wait was 3 hours and 45 minutes so with that being said it's best to take your pet here on a day when you don't have other commitments. The staff was amazing and very friendly, you can tell they really care about all the furry friends they see and that they're passionate about what they do. I was especially impressed with the lady at the front desk today that was checking everyone in. She provided one of the best customer experiences I've ever had and it really calmed my nerves about bringing my dog here and instantly gave me faith in this clinic and my dogs care. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to capture her name but she is awesome! With the office visit, rabies vaccine, parvo vaccine, flea prevention, tick prevention and heart worm prevention my total was only $106 which is easily affordable compared to other practices. Now I understand why the wait was long and I can honestly say it was totally worth it! Chip also was very relaxed here compared to other vets so that's a huge win for us as well. Good GOD AUSTIN IS EXPENSIVE! But, found this place for my fur babies shots and they were super! You need to show up as a walk in the day you want your pups shots to secure your spot in line. They tell you how long the wait will be that day and you return at that time to claim your spot. Not outrageously expensive, and they don't force an exams on you. Super friendly as well! I wanted my dogs to get there annual shots.....and that's what I got. No more no less! Would tell anyone with pets to go there. This was one expense that didn't hurt in Austin!!!!!! read more
