I'm really grateful that Dr Mastromonaco and her staff were able to see my dog on the same day. Moreover, I loved the staff's bedside manner as well as the reasonable pricing. Long story short, my dog started shaking his head repeatedly and I knew something was wrong. I called 5 clinics and Zippivet was the one that could see my dog that day. After examination, they had to sedate him and they removed a live moth inside my dog's ear! During all this, I was kind of stressed given my dog's health and this surprise pet medical bill but because they were really helpful and had reasonable pricing, I felt relieved. I can't recommend ZippiVet Hutto location highly enough. Also the Arboretum location. I have been a customer of ZippiVet (Arboretum location) for a while but this one is specific to Hutto. They were amazing with my senior dog's most recent, and unfortunately, last visit. We called to several emergency vets but they couldn't take him that morning because his symptoms hadn't lasted over 24 hours. Right at 8 am (their opening time) I called Arboretum and they said that location didn't have any openings that day. The woman recommended us going to the Hutto location so she transferred my call. I spoke with them, this was about 8:10 am at this point and and they said - could you get here by 9? My fiance got there at 8:40 am on Wednesday. 4 employees rushed to my boy Sam and they immediately got to work doing tests to find out what the cause was. He was treated so well by the staff. We were treated so well by the staff. It was an incredibly stressful time, I can't accurately describe it in all honesty. But their compassion and kindness truly made an impact on us that day. They found the cause pretty quickly, and so they made him so very comfortable. They were incredibly compassionate to us and our boy. I am forever grateful for how they treated him and us that day. We brought his ashes home the other day and they were just so thoughtful, they wrote us such a kindhearted card. In the past I have complained about ZippiVet's prices but in all honesty - never again. I will pay a higher price and whatever they ask now because their staff is so amazing with how knowledgable they are, how compassionate they are, and how they treated our family that day. read more

They even have balls for the dogs to play with! The vet was very knowledgeable and thorough in her exam. My boy already feels better. We learned a lot about how to better care for our precious pet. Oh my gosh! Finally an absolutely wonderful vet clinic!!! My baby girl was extremely sick and none of the other vet offices I've used couldn't get her in today. I found ZippiVet and was able to book online. Within 30 minutes I received a call asking me if I could bring her in earlier than the time slot I selected since her symptoms were concerning to them. When I say bedside manner, WOW! These women were AMAZING! They treated my dog like a princess! Gentle, comforting, patient and so so sweet! They were transparent about any and all costs. Never once did they try to push anything on us. They only wanted to do what was needed and kept us in the know the whole time. I genuinely felt like I could 100% trust them, that's how amazing they were. Never felt like they were all about money unlike most clinics I've been to in the past. Sure, while we still had to spend a good amount on diagnostics and labs, it seemed reasonable and fair for what they needed to do to diagnose her with Pneumonia. AND the best part is that my baby girl was feeling SOOOOO much better after they kept her on IV fluids and meds while my husband and I went to grab a bite of lunch and let the IV work. I'll never come back here after my experience this week. The tech was very obviously new, which is fine except that the mistakes just happened repeatedly. First, I had to correct her regarding her report to the vet about my dogs symptoms. I figured it was just a simple mistake. But then things just started to snowball. I didn't like the way she held or spoke to my dog as the vet examined her, it was as if she expected my sick dog to hold perfectly still while the vet touched every part of her. The vet discussed a proposed plan of care to determine the cause of my dogs diarrhea. They took her out of the room to give her fluids and medications and draw blood. The tech brought back an estimate and before showing me said "oh no wait this is wrong. They're charging for an emergency exam". When she came back the price was lower for the exam, she went over the cost of everything, and there were a couple of items I said I didn't want them to do. The tech explained that it was recommended to do everything, and I again said, I don't want to do these things. The vet then came to explain the items I refused, and I again said I wanted to hold off as I felt that it was unnecessary at that time, and wanted to start with the initial work up we had discussed. It now been about 45 min that my dog has been gone... I asked "has everything been done? Can she come back to the room with me now?" The tech responded "oh she isn't here? Someone must have already brought her back again for more tests." I told her that my dog had not been brought back to me at all. She then brought my dog back in and said "oh sorry, the office manager was holding her." My dog never enjoys the vet. She shakes and resists every time. But this time she was sick and barely wanted to be touched, not even by me. It was obvious that she didn't feel good and in the room she clang to me. So to find out they had done what they needed to do for her and then kept her in the back so someone could hold her while I sat in the room wondering what was going on was infuriating. And I can't imagine how my poor dog felt as some stranger in a vet office held her. I felt so disrespected. I was then told by the tech that she had abnormal lab values that could suggest pancreatitis so they were going to run more labs. I panicked and started googling pancreatitis in dogs, fearing what treatment might need to be done, as I sat there alone waiting for results. The vet then came in stating the pancreatitis labs were normal, just like all the rest of the labs. I clarified, all the labs were normal? I was just told they were abnormal? The vet apologized for some miscommunication and said they were normal. Then a different tech comes in, hadn't met her during the visit, holding a bag and starts spewing off instructions about all the medications we were going home with. I asked her, "so what did we determine was wrong with her?" And she replied with "well your dog can't talk to us to tell us if she got into anything. And didn't the doctor just come in to talk to you?" I wish I could convey the tone of her voice. Talking to me like an idiot. I asked her to send the vet back in. The vet apologized stating they had new employees and that there had been multiple miscommunications during my visit, and apologized for their behavior. I told her I wouldn't be coming back and she understood why. She knew everything about this visit was terrible. But to finish it off, thankfully, she decided to go over all the medications with me again. As she pulled them out, she realized the tech had read the order wrong. They were giving me the wrong amount of antibiotics for my dog. Then the bill was wrong. They were going to charge me for an emergency visit. I asked her to change it back to the proposed estimate. She did. It's been 2 days. I was told they would call to check in on her. Not a word since I left.... I would never trust this place again, and would never recommend anyone take their pets here. read more

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Mellott and the entire staff at the zippivet Hutto location. They were able to get me in on a Saturday to see my pet. During COVID, they are not allowing customers inside but they walked me through every step via phone. Dr. Mellott was happy to answer all of my questions and take the time to explain everything to me. I called about 100 other times with questions regarding medication and everyone I spoke with was very happy to help. Took my dog to see the vet today, she has been having bad itchyness, and hair falling out, When the doctor bill riddle came in the room he started asking questions like when it started , what I noticed, that kind of stuff , I told him I think maybe it's a food allergy because my other pup has a chicken allergy . He asked what food I feed kahleesi I told him honest kitchen , he asked me why I have her on that food and not kibble. I honestly answered him that all my dogs that have been kibble , have had a reaction. And honest kitchen has been great , and I've herd great things about them , he smiles and says where did you read good things "on the internet" then he asked do you know where do they make it ? And the way he asked it was like he was judging me for feeding her something other than science hill food. It was a very uncomfortable situation . Then he said they need to do a skin scrape to see what's going on , I herd him tell the nurse , mange . So I asked him what do you think could be the problem. He responded back with a attitude and look on his face like I just asked the most stupidest question ever. And said I don't know . They took her back and 10 mins later asked me to look in the microscope , he said she has mange. Told me she got it from her mom, and stress triggered it. Then he starts up about the food thing again . We go back into the room and he bends down and tells my dog , "I'm sorry I hope I did not hurt you to bad" Where they did the scraping she was almost bleeding . Then he told me good luck and walked out . I have never been in that kind of situation with a vet bEfore . He made me so uncomfortable. ZippiVet is amazing! I first came across ZippiVet when I adopted my dog on a Friday night and had 5 days to get her to a vet to establish care. Since then, they have taken such great care of her. I love that you have multiple offices and have weekend hours because life doesn't happen Monday - Friday 9-5. They are always gentle with my dog who had been severely abused and was scared of everything and everyone. Let me start off my saying the fact that we couldn't even go in the office with our dog and I still feel like he was in the best hands and received the best care possible says A LOT! Our boy is a Doberman and is super nervous at the vet but they handled him with love and spoke very clearly to us about the visit. They loved our boy like he was their own. I hope this reaches the vet and her staff from the evening of 7/16/2020. Yesterday was the hardest day and my and my husbands life. We rushed from kyle to Hutto to the only appointment for that day. I had two sick dogs and Zippivet in Hutto was able to get me in right away when my regular vet couldn't. Due to COVID, they came out to the car and got my dogs and I stayed in the car. Please do not take your pet here. We took our dog because it was limping and had an inflamed front shoulder. We paid for all kinds of exams. Nothing. They suggested they look at its kidneys. Paid for all kinds of exams. Nothing. Then they recommended looking at another internal part of his body. We paid for all of that too. Nothing. Then they wanted to look at another part of his body. I said we took him in for his shoulder. And they have not come up with anything for that. We then took him to another pet hospital. The other place said even without doing any test they can see it was cancer. They said they could do an exam and charge us if we wished. But they were %100 positive. They did not wish to waste our money. Our poor pup has only a couple of weeks left. I know ZippiVet could not make a difference in the outcome. But, what about those pets that come in and it is possibly curable. They would waste your money and your pet's precious time left with you. I know they will probably put some type of reply here trying to justify (LIE) about their lack of diagnoses. But please save your pet, take them elsewhere. read more

We couldn't go in with our baby boy but we still had a wonderful experience. Drop off, payment, and pickup were super straight forward and easy. The doctor gave details about everything they were doing/wanted to do, as well as the pricing. We even got to have our kitty neutered today on short notice, even though we only intended to come in for a check up and shots! We were kept updated via text on when he was going into and coming out of surgery, and they hooked us up with multiple treatments and medications to make our baby's recovery smooth.
