I've gone to countless barbers in the 8-9 years I've been living in SF and Eman is hands down the best. Skilled, fast, nice and knows what good looks like. Wish I had found him years ago instead of settling for mediocre. read more

I made an appointment online for a Wednesday afternoon haircut and it went perfectly. I actually made the appointment for the wrong kind of service but luckily I got corrected and was given the exact haircut I wanted. It was so fun to chat and get my hair done! I'm excited to be back! read more

Got exactly what I wanted, great chat and vibes, super friendly service, and reliable taste in hairstyle

My husband and I have both been going to Eman for our hair for years! I almost always get a cut and color and my husband typically does a fade haircut. He always takes him time to consult on what we want (whether it's our usual or something new) and he seamlessly upgrades our looks each time! We enjoy our time in the chair with him and having time to catch up since our last visit. Eman's studio is located conveniently on Market St, which makes it easy to go during the work week or even easy for us to BART over from the East Bay on the weekend. I would most definitely recommend him if you're looking for a fresh cut and to build a good relationship with your hair stylist! read more

Great barber for asian mens hair (and I'm sure more)! Emmanuel is super attentive and patient, feel like I can be pretty picky, but he worked with me until my hair looked just right. Super convenient downtown location is definitely a plus too! read more

Eman has been cutting my hair for several years now, and I always walk out of his studio with a smile on my face and a spring in my step -- renewed, refreshed, and ready to take on the world! Client rapport is such an important part of your relationship with a hair stylist / barber, and I've always felt 100% at ease with Eman. He's super easy to talk to, and I genuinely look forward to my appointments. It's like visiting a good friend who happens to make a living by giving great haircuts! ‍ Eman's space is located within Sola Studios, which is a sort of "village" of individual personal care businesses (from haircuts and color, to eyebrow threading and nails). His studio can only accommodate one client at a time, so appointments are required; particularly during COVID, this private, one-on-one setup has been of real benefit. The window inside the studio opens for ventilation, and Eman keeps things very tidy and well sanitized. Cannot recommend highly enough! read more

Holding my long locks in his hand, Eman asked "Do you need all this?" And though I was originally only planning a trim, I promptly decided I didn't and let him cut it all off. I am ever so glad I did. My hair takes even less time to do now, and falls just right with very little intervention. And the shorter style has been a blessing in the summer heat! I had my hair cut on a Friday and once he was done with the scissors, Eman gave me some beachy waves citing the impending weekend. I appreciated this unexpected extra and left his chair feeling oh so pretty. As others before me have deftly pointed out: Eman is the man. I can't wait to return for another cut (and am so pleased I can book my appointments with him via Yelp)! read more

I got my first haircut here a week ago and I have to say Eman cut my medium length hair perfectly. Also he was very friendly and accommodating and I never felt uncomfortable. Despite me not being sober that day, Eman was able to have a good conversation with me and I really appreciated his work and friendliness. Go here if you want a high quality hair cut by someone who listens but is also able to improve on small details about your hair cut. read more

Love my sharp cut & color! I recently went fuchsia thanks to Eman. I always get compliments whenever I go on my constitutional through the neighborhood. Eman gives pragmatic consults while being inspirational. Worth his weight in gold (maybe that'll be my next move!). For sure coming back for more suave stylings by his deft hands. read more

Charismatic, friendly, and swift with the scissors is how I would describe Iman (I mean, Eman). Popped in to clean up the do for Lunar New Year & couldn't be happier with the short and tight fade)! He knows how to navigate the Asian male head (I've always been self-conscious at the shape and how the back grows out). Also, who doesn't love a good kiki while in the chair?! See ya in 5 weeks! read more

I came across Eman during my internship in the Bay Area and I wish I can pack him back with me to Chicago. He is fast, very skilled and will your hair realized its best version. He listens to my concerns well and was able to create a clean, low maintainable yet totally stylish hair cut all within a lunch break! This is no small feat since I struggle with few and thin hair. It takes a seasoned hair stylist like Eman to know where to cut to create volume without choppy hair ends, yet leave my hair looking naturally voluminous. Last but not least, Eman is so friendly and fu to talk to, making a mundane routine haircut a stress-free and enjoyable experience instead. In summary, Eman is great and I trust whatever he wants to do with my hair! Will definitely return when I am back in town. read more

I was looking for a new hairstylist that was convenient to my job and well let's face it GOOD! I had found Eman through the Yelp Deals. When trying a new hairstylist a good deal couldn't help either right? I had called Eman to schedule a appointment and he was so friendly over the phone I felt at ease. Now don't hate me people but the grandparents weren't available to watch my five year old son. Instead of creating a major faux pas and assuming that just bringing him along would be ok I did what any responsible parent would do and asked Eman if that would be ok? He was beyond sweet and said that would be fine. So I booked a appointment for later in the afternoon so that my son would only have to endure as little as possible to which my husband could pick him up. Now on to the haircut Eman was wonderful! I have really thick hair and since summer was coming up I wanted to cut my hair to just below my shoulders. I bought a picture to Eman so he can get an idea as to the style and length that I wanted. Eman listened to my concerns and got it right and nailed it! My hair felt wonderful much lighter and he cut all the damaged ends away. I was very pleased with the results! I have a hairstylist. Even after washing it I was able to recreate it easily. That is a mark of a great haircut. I am planning to back again for my next trim. Thank you Eman for a terrific haircut. He also has great patience and a wonderful personality as well. So easy and fun to talk to as well. We chatted about everything under the sun. From my job, my marriage, parenting, and families. Eman was also great with my son. I really appreciate someone who does a good service and does it right the first time. Thanks to you again Eman read more

I went to eman for a last minute keratin therapy treatment for my hair (i needed an appt that day so i finally bite the bullet and just do it instead of thinking about it too much and cancelling). He was so friendly- he listened to me when I said i would panic if he cut off too much of my hair (don't we all??), but when he trimmed it it was PERFECT. My hair already looked so much healthier even before the keratin treatment, and after the treatment it's flawless. He's super friendly and really really easy to talk to. I got an annoying work call in the middle of all of this, and he quietly continued to work on my hair so I could make it home in time. Can't wait to come back and have him properly cut my hair when I get the guts to actually chop it a bit. read more

I always feel great after getting a haircut from Eman!!! Unlike most stylists, he does not impose such a heavy influence when I ask for his help. I appreciate the fact that he gives me enough information to go off of and lets me make the final decision. My hair is dreadfully boring and dull; so when I asked him for his advice/suggestion he recommended that we stick with layers if i didn't want to go the short haircut route. I feel really comfortable when the stylist isn't trying to sell me a million products or influence me on coloring my hair a million colors that would look ridiculous on me. During my visit with him today, I slightly mentioned that I wanted to get my hair colored and asked him what he thought. To my surprise he knew exactly what I DIDN'T want and recommended that I start off with something subtle. I laaaaaaaav it!!!!! YAAAAAAS HUNTY!!! We discussed how an ombre hairstyle is fairly easy to maintain and that I wouldn't have to see him as often for keep up. I was shooting for a very different yet stylish color and I'm glad he brought up some really good points. I absolutely love my hair each time I walk out of his salon. I may have to look into further details as far as coloring the next time I think about seeing him!!! read more

Eman Style - Eman gave me exactly what I wanted when I cut off a ton of my hair! - Hair Salons Near Me - San Francisco, California

Eman is great! Helped me with a new style, is consistent and always have a great time there.

I've been looking for a hairstylist I like and is easy to get to ever since I moved back to the bay area 4 years ago. I'm so glad that I found Eman. I've decided to donate my hair to the American Cancer Society, which really meant going to a very short cut. I've had long hair almost all my life and have found comfort in familiarity. I emailed Eman beforehand and he was very accommodating. Getting there a little early gave me time to show him pictures of short hairstyles that I like. He didn't give me time to back out of what I committed to do and cut my hair short. It helped that Eman was very reassuring about my to-be new hairstyle while he was cutting away. He promised that I wouldn't look like a soccer-mom, which is always great for a 24 year old. Sure enough, by the time he was done, I fell in love with my new hairstyle. It didn't take me long to get used to it, or for friends around me to get used to it, because he did such a great job. I think I've found my regular stylist. read more

Eman is a really cool guy that also gives great haircuts. On the 3rd floor of the building, he has a small one seat shop in the midst of many other beauty service shops. It's been pretty tough to find a barber in SF that can give me a satisfactory cut but Eman did a really good job the first time I saw him. Will be going back to him soon! read more

The man Eman is the man. I recently relocated back to the bay and work in the Financial district. I have been desperately looking for someone to cut my hair worth the obligatory $45+. As easy as it is to find a $45+ decent haircut, I am may be the last man standing demanding excellence at that particular price point. Emanuel delivered. Scissor cut, saving the clippers for edging. Eman crafted my hair. Now, I'm not asking for anything special. Just short sides and a little on top to style. But I know the difference between a decent cut and a killer cut. He killed it. I do not issue 5's very often, but he gets all of 'em. Thanks cousin. You got a new regular. read more

EMAN is fast, and great. Usually for a perfect haircut, it takes other stylists over one hour. EMAN is able to give me that same, perfect haircut in 40 minutes. Time is important to me, and a perfect haircut is important as well. I get both items with EMAN. read more

Came in with a messed up haircut and Emmanuel was able to fix it. Great attention to detail and great personality. Will definitely be back!

I'm amazed anyone could live up to the hype. Eman is an incredibly talented stylist and a really interesting and delightful person to talk to! I'm normally pretty introverted but he always has me chatting and laughing like we're old friends. His haircuts are incredible and he'll both respect your wishes while also suggesting tweaks, which I really appreciate. He's a perfectionist and always gives such precise and tailored cuts. read more

I have been going to Eman for the last two years and am really happy with his work. Every time I want something new, he is able to cut it as described to a T. He really understands how to cut Asian hair -- he gets the texture and all of our cowlicks. Right now, I am wearing it very short and the shape and style holds for a full six-weeks between cuts. That is a sign of a quality haircut. :-) read more

Eman knew exactly what kind of cut I wanted. He listens and is professional. Unfortunately I can't go to him all the time, only when i visit San Francisco since I live in DC. First time triers should use his coupon and give him a chance. I guarantee you will be back again and again. read more

I've been coming back to Eman for the last two years. A fun guy to talk to and he always delivers an excellent haircut!

what else can i say that other yelpers haven't already said?! he's funny, well-read, well-versed in fashion, his sense of humor is off the chain, he likes to take long walks at the beach...oh wait...this isn't a personal ad...this is a review of his work...okay...okay...stay focused. he is a shear genius...let's just say you won't find bravo's tabatha coffey from tabatha's salon makeover at EMAN's any time soon. hailing from every 6 weeks, eman finally made the move from the gayborhood of the castro to the downtown financial district right off the montogomery bart station and right next to the ritz carlton hotel...his new studio is quaint and charming...just like eman. joking aside, i've been going to eman for over 6 years and i've never had a bad cut...his artistic sensibilities combined with his eye for fashion lends to a well-designed and well-thought out new you. and his shampoo rubs alone can send you to the moon...so what are you waiting for? follow eman and show off your new look downtown! read more
