Waited over a year to leave a review for these guys so that I could give an honest opinion of the entire transaction. Edwin may be a seemingly nice guy but don't judge a company by a nice guy. Also see below that a majority of the reviews were left when he was doing the work himself. He is not doing the work now. He has a crew that has very little experience and he is trying to babysit them all during the day so he can try to make a buck bouncing between jobs. He would routinely come at the end of the day and spend hours fixing the mess they made during the day. Day 1: I caught the crew after they had installed a different air handler than I ordered. The crew leader assured me it was the same but when I dug into the manual I found out it was different. There is a reason the one I ordered cost more. The only thing I can figure is at best they were just being lazy because the smaller air handler fit through my crawl space door easier. At worse they do this all the time and were trying to scam me. So the lesson he is know what equipment models you paid for and double check them when they arrive. I called Edwin and he claimed to not know about it...but who knows. 2. After they got it installed there were some bugs to work out. This seems reasonable, but don't expect to be paid until the system is functional. The office was blowing up the phone trying to be paid when my system wasn't 100%. I told them I wasn't paying until the system was working properly. They came out and finished the job. Would they have got to me as quick if I had already paid? Who knows. 3. I told Edwin from the start I wanted the 10 year extended warranty on labor. He told me he would get it together. Months passed. Nothing. Hit him up again. Nothing. Called his office...they know nothing about it. 11 months after the install he sends me an invoice for the cost of the extended warranty. He tells me he will take care of the paperwork with goodman. By this time I'm tired of Edwin and his BS. There is no way I'm handing over cash to him without some guarantees in writing. I call Goodman to ask them about the extended labor warranty and they tell me it required some paperwork from them showing the purchase of the extended warranty and both me and Edwin have to sign it. Totally opposite of what Edwin is claiming. Is he totally full of BS trying to scam me on a warranty? I have no idea but the manufacturer says one thing and he is saying to just give him the cash and everything will be fine. Because of his BS I missed out on the time gram for the extended warranty for labor. Rewind, First winter with the heat pump I'm getting 400 dollar electric bills I think that is just the way it is because it's cold and the electric heat is on a lot. WRONG fast forward to the next fall season I have another company come out and look at it and they tell me it's wired wrong and this incorrect wiring is causing the heat strips to run 100% of the time, and to add to it the communication board is not working. I didn't know it at the time but Edwin knew this board wasn't working properly because he was always using the excuse of how he couldn't use Bluetooth to access the communication board. New company tells me if you can't communicate with Bluetooth it's 100% a bad communication board. So either Edwin didn't know this or he left it broken and unprogramed on purpose. New hvac company had to replace the board and completely program the unit because they said it had never been programmed properly. If you're considering this company you can read above and decide for yourself if you feel this is the kind Of people you want to deal with. Edwin seems like a nice dude but the shoddy business practices will put him out of business soon. read more

I had a new system installed by this company in June 2023. My invoice shows it is covered by a 1 year warranty. It is now February 2024, and it hasn't provided heat in 4-5 days. Multiple and repeated attempts (phone, text, email) to make contact and schedule repairs has been ignored. They refuse to answer any method. Meanwhile, I've been without heat for almost a week, and the forecast is calling for 20 degrees tomorrow night. read more

This is one of the worst company's I've dealt with. They tell you one thing but do another. I wish I could give them negative stats!!!! Mine is similar to most of these one star reviews. And this is a condensed version of all the issues. Then will not answer calls. When they do they make appointments but never show! It took me three weeks to get them to come deal with their mess. Then they finally had a different HVAC person come out to fix their screw ups. And said they would pay for it to get fixed. Well when they sent what they needed, he has not heard back from Edwin either. So now I have to deal with it. And the court system with deal with it also. read more

my experience has been eerily similar to the last few reviews. I got bait and switched by Edwin AFTER they had opened up my walls. the unit never worked properly and Edwin doesnt return calls it answer messages. if I had the time, I would Sue. Do not use this company. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Edwin does not live up to his word. Does not show warranty paperwork for parts ordered. Workers steal. Does not answer phone calls after he has been paid. Very shady business read more

I seriously wish I could give them more stars. Five stars doesn't even BEGIN to justify what these guys can do. My AC in my new house randomly stopped working a few weeks ago. The compressor kept tripping so I had no cold air. A company came out and said they can't do anything for me for a few days (it was a week of 90+ outside) and would cost 11k to replace. They didn't even ATTEMPT to put a bandaid on it. I called EM2 and Edwin, the owner, came out that night. For a very low price he stopped by my house around 6pm and offered a solution He said that it would last a while (1 or 2 seasons he really couldn't be sure) but we would eventually need to replace the AC. He was honest, hard working, and didn't force me to buy anything immediately. Because of this, we decided to go with him for a total HVAC replacement. They showed up at 10am on the dot and worked tirelessly all day replacing the entire HVAC even though it was absolutely POURING out. They took proper COVID precautions and cleaned up after themselves. Edwin even came after hours to make sure the work was to his standards. Best of all? Edwin did all of this for THOUSANDS cheaper. Thousands. We are new homeowners and recently engaged. He really really helped us out here. Cant recommend him enough. Honest, hard working guy. You'd be crazy to go anywhere else. read more

EM2 absolutely saved the day and summer ! Not only did Edwin change his plans to install our new he also worked until the job was completely done. Awesome person. Our new variable speed unit is great. House is cold and now in the winter we have a new heater as well. Great warranty plan as well that I jumped on. EM2 is now my HVAC company. Thanks Edwin for the hard work and great service. read more

Excellent service. Very promptly responded to my online request for help. EM2 technicians were professional, friendly, efficient, and thorough. Ever since the last maintenance by a different HVAC company, the heater had been making an annoying humming noise. Previously it had been running silently. Two different companies could not find the problem. EM2 techs took the time to carefully check out everything, and then thought out-of-the-box to find the problem had to do with the inside vent cover, which they were able to fix. Silent running again. They also took the time to advise me on what kind of bathroom exhaust fan replacement I was planning, which saved me from ordering the wrong item. read more

Edwin came out on a Sunday. Was some misunderstanding with his scheduler as Sunday was supposed to be emergencies, when I was just looking for maintenance. Edwin still proceeded with the maintenance with no emergency charges. Super nice, very knowledgeable. He was very honest. He was initially going down the route of I possibly needed some additional vents to relieve pressure in my system. However, he ran some tests and proved himself wrong. This is the best part, he actually explained it all to me and showed me he was incorrect. I didn't need the extra work, even though it would still possibly help my system. It's not very often you run into people who are willing to admit being incorrect, and correct themselves. I find this very admirable, and will use his services again in the future specifically because of his honesty. read more

Got a few quotes and em2 was the best from all of the heating and AC business out there. If you are dealing with other heating and ac businesses out there please make sure to check with them before you go with anyone else. They know their stuff and they offer amazing value compared to the other businesses out there. Trust me they saved me a lot and fixed another item complimentary. read more

Can't recommend Edwin and his crew highly enough. He is extremely prompt, professional, and very responsive. I only found him by sheer luck. I read that having a bi-annual maintenance contract would be good for an aging HVAC unit. I messaged near 10 companies on Yelp - they either did not offer such a service, charged (astronomically) by the visit, or charged (astronomically) for an annual contract. Edwin said two visits, one year, $200. Done and done. I guess companies don't wish to do basic service contracts? Who knows. By the end of the contract, my HVAC was probably in need of replacement. Edwin was straight up with the info, no salesmen bs. "Your unit has biological growth that has grown significantly since last year, the compressor is now pulling above max amperage overheating your breakers". There was no upsale bs, any of that. Just here are my options, winter discount, cash discount. The prices were very good. Not only that, he was very straight up about the brands too (something the salesmen from other companies won't admit to). Amana = Goodman, don't pay for Amana, same company, luxury brand. Lennox is just a pain in the neck to deal with. Trane is not as good as it once was. Carrier is just the name. He could install all those brands, but Goodman offers the best prices and interoperability with parts and thermostats. The install went great. Was an all day affair - took about 8 hours or so. 3 man crew all over it. Disposed of the old unit, installed new refrigerant line, followed all the codes, wifi thermostat. The works. Unlike the sales men who "justify" their super high price with a 2 year labor contract, Edwin offers 1 year with an ability to get a 2nd year if desired. Highly recommended. read more

Recently our heat stopped working and my immediate thought was to contact Edwin at EM2 because he did such a great job with our home in Manassas. Edwin was very flexible in scheduling the appointment, arrived on time and was very patient in describing the issue. The best part was that he had the part in his work truck and was able to fix it right away. Again, he was very professional and completed the job in a timely manner. He is very knowledgeable and I trust what he tells me. Highly recommend Edwin and his team at EM2 Heating & Air Conditioning! read more

My husband called this company in to look at our AC unit that went out. We had already had one guy come and say that there was nothing he could do to fix it and that we would need to buy a new HVAC system! We have a 16 month old so we were desperate to get our AC working (since it's summer!), but also didn't want to spend $$$ to get a new one. Thankfully this guy came out, was super knowledgeable and spotted the problem and fixed it for an AMAZING price! He also quoted us a price to fix the whole unit for half of what the first guy quoted. He was professional, very friendly and knew what he was talking about! I will be recommending this company to everyone!!! read more

My AC went out in June as the temperatures were rising. We have a small child in the house who certainly wasn't going to sleep with the house above 80 degrees. We sent for a few people to come give us estimates to replace our system as it's over 20 years old. Edwin was the second of companies to come out. Not only did he give us the best estimate (by farrr) but he also decided to fix the current issue completely for the cost of what others quoted for the diagnostic alone. He also found the issue that others had not been able to find. And, he did so in about 15 minutes. He didn't stop there though. He gave us the option to have a few things repaired that were faulty at a price I still cannot believe. If you want a smart guy, with great pricing, and trustworthy character this is the place to call. read more

These guys are incredible. I contacted them on a Saturday to start the process of getting a quote for a new system. I had a guy in my house on Sunday and the system installed completely on Friday. The technician who came out to do my quote was very honest about what we need and don't need. I specifically remember him saying, "look, you can pay for the 18-seer system, but I wouldn't personally do it in my home." I had another company (highly rated on Yelp as well) come out to do a quote and they really pushed the 18-seer system. The competing company's quote came in $2500 higher as well. EM2 is honest and their prices were extremely fair. The actual installers swept my floors when they were tidying up! The new system (we got an entire system replaced, furnace and AC) is amazing. If you're looking to save a little more money, I recommend installing in the off season and paying with cash. EM2 offered a discount for both. This is my first Yelp review... I was that motivated to tell people how impressed I was! read more

I have used several of the larger HVAC companies in the area but finding EM2 was like finding a hidden gem. Edwin was responsive with providing a very competitive quote for replacing a 30 yr old condo unit HVAC system. He took the time to understand my concerns and personally ensured the installation was performed to his high standards. I plan to use EM2 to service our HVAC on our residential property and highly recommend you contact them whether you need a new installation or routine service. read more

Edwin and his team are top notch. He answered my call on a Sunday. They showed up on time and went above and beyond to make sure my A/C was running well. My wife and I highly recommend EM2 above any other Heating and Air Conditioning Company in the DMV. We own our own company and we will refer them to our network. Best wishes! read more

These guys are really good. Like most homeowners when I get super hot I wanted to make sure my air-conditioning was working and I always feel it's a good idea to have preventative maintenance done. They were very communicative and professional. They arrived on time they also took the time to explain to me what they were the checking and answered all of my follow-up questions ,they cleaned compressor as my unit as it was incredibly dirty; Overall there the pricing was OK but they seem very honest and reliable 07/3-I just want everyone to know that I thought they were very good last time, they were certainly great this time. Long story short last, night I had an issue and contacted them . I received a timely response and a very fair quote. They showed up on time and got right to work, and took care of the issue. Thank u ! read more

This company bilked my rental tenant, without the authorization of the home owner took the liberty to take out a unit that was under warranty and might I say better installed a unit with a 30 day warranty. The tenant is stuck paying for it and he stole our old unit. Scam artist every time I try to call it just rings the tenant says he is a honest credible person, no manuals it seems like they installed a used unit as it was stated on the receipt that a new thermostat wall installed. I will be contacting the licensing board on this matter just beware taking a unit out without the landlords permission and one that is still under warranty then stealing it. He over charged the tenant. BEWARE. 1 star is far too much we may end in court read more

Unresponsive to emails. Estimates also made no sense - quoted me $3,500 for a 3 ton Goodman unit and then later quoted me $6,500 for a 2.5 ton + furnace. Had to follow up repeatedly to get estimates emailed to me. My feedback is 1) in today's era customers are not fools. You can't quote the price of a Trane system for a Goodman. You can't quote $3,500 one minute and $6,500 the next. 2) Be responsive, otherwise people will just move on. read more

EM2 did a great job at my house. Edwin is a nice tech with great knowledge of the HVAC industry. They replaced my whole system, very efficient and well detailed install. My AC died and EM2 had a great turnaround with a new system the next day and good deal with a good warranty. No need to look further for another company cause we have our systems in EM2 hands! read more

I chose Edwin after I put out a multiple vendor bid for a steam humidifier job because he seemed very communicative and understanding of the nuances of whole house humidifier output. He hooked me up with a really good AprilAire 800 steam humidifier and an ionization unit that has essentially transformed my experience of winter away from constantly chasing 30% humidity by refilling gross portables to finally feeling comfortable and achieving an easy 40-50%, even when it's very cold out. The job took quite a while because it involved re-routing the water supply and moving things around, and they even cleaned up some of the work the builder did by sealing a few things better. He was fair and flexible in pricing and payment and very thorough in explaining as much as I wanted to know about how things work. He and his team not only communicate well but they have a diverse skill set, he even came back and did a garage door insulation job for me. Most of all he just seems like a friendly, down to earth person and I enjoy supporting competent smaller businesses like his, when I can. I'll be calling him for check ups and future heating related needs. read more

HVAC systems have a way of wearing out when you least expect it and mine is no different. We asked for EM2 Heating and air conditioning team to assist and they did a great job. They arrive at 5 PM on Monday and worked all the way till 10 PM to get the cooling system up and running. They came back the next day and got the heat up running as well. They helped register the unit and also pulled the A/C permit as required by Fairfax County. Thanks Edwin, Felix and Gurpreet for providing such excellent service. read more

The compressor in our water to water heat pump failed and Edwin helped us very quickly (within 24 hours) and replaced the faulty compressor. Now read this: Edwin and Preet started at around 5:30pm and worked until 10:30pm. In the process, while checking the system, they found a faulty blower motor in the air handler late at that time. I was stunned about the work ethics. They wanted to get the project done, no matter how late it is. I am maintaining my own AC system and I know everything about it, so I know what I am doing. Edwin did the swap of the compressor because I don't have the tools for it. Having said that: I watched these two guys working on my system and can only say the best. They are very detailed, clean and up to the task. Not only they fixed the problem but checked the proper functionality of the related air handler behind the heat pump as well. I am very pleased with the quality of work I have seen, and further more I am very pleased that I now have Edwin and his crew in cases I cannot handle, like the compressor. Edwin from EM2 has my highest regards, and I can only highly recommend him to take care of all your HVAC systems. I consider him to maintain my system as well. I am getting too old (and too lazy) to do it myself when I have someone who I trust. The main reason I did it myself all these years was that I never really found someone whom I trusted enough. THAT changed with Edwin. To Edwin and Preet: You guys rock!!!! THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR OUTSTANDING WORK and the very reasonable price!!!!! read more

Had a extremely positive experience with EM2. Edwin and his partner John I believe, came by to address concerns I had with my air conditioning unit.. after discussing al my options, Edwin suggested a solution that would work but not able to guarantee how long.. after 1 week, both Edwin and John remembered who I was but what they had done.. long story short , we ended up replacing the entire unit. I of course did my homework during the time of the first test solution. I was discounted the visit and the timelyness of the install was incredible. On every level to measure a large purchase, they exceeded my expectations. Strong recommendation.. Brian B read more

I can't more highly recommend EM2 HVAC. My AC went out around 7pm. I messaged and called at least 7 companies. EM2 was the only one that responded that evening and immediately sent out a technician. I was expecting to be charged a large service fee for them coming at such a late hour but they charged their normal fee and ended up applying it to the repair. Their repair charge was also the lowest I was quoted from multiple companies. Edwin was very responsive to my questions and made sure the job was done correctly. They offered the best service and the best rate. Thank you!! read more

EM2 saved us over a hot Memorial Day weekend! They came out within 12 hours of my quote inquiry through yelp and completed two service calls with two techs to get our AC up and running within a few hours. Price was very reasonable- they did not take advantage of it being a holiday to raise the price and did their best to get our AC on quickly. A+++ for customer service!! read more

Our A/C unit stopped working during one of the hottest days of the summer. We called Edwin and in less than hour Henry and Micheal arrived from completing work on another project in the area. Despite being exhausted from the day's work, they assessed the problem and fixed the A/C--both techs were courteous and professional. EM2 will always be our go-to HVAC company. They are honest, fair, and knowledgeable. read more

Edwin was outstanding! Really reasonable, understands what needs to be done, provides recommendations and has a great personality.

I spoke with Henry about getting a quote on replacing an evaporator coil on my AC unit because FH Furr gave me an astronomical price. EM2 was able to come in at a fraction. It is comical how much cheaper to be honest. Henry was in constant communication with me, and came out on a Friday evening to make sure my ac was fixed for the weekend. Henry and his coworker Mike were extremely professional. It was pouring rain and they took the time to lay down furniture pads and floor runners to keep my carpet clean. Henry seemed far more knowledgeable about my AC system than the previous FH Furr techs that I have dealt with. I can't recommend EM2 enough. read more

Great experience with Edwin! I explain my problem to him. He came immediately. He walked through everything step-by-step with me to troubleshoot the issues. He explained the diagnostics. He worked with me on the pricing. He talked to me about the upkeep of the units. All in all I am very pleased with the service! I will definitely use him again and recommend him to all my friends and family! Thanks Edwin! read more
