I worked with Hannah and she did an excellent job! The consultation before gave me a good idea of what to expect. The salon itself was bustling when I arrived. I was checked in and offered a beverage (wine? Yes, please). All of the stylists had a cohesive vibe and you could tell they love what they do! Hannah was attentive and thorough and my hair turned out great! The products they use are designed to help not harm your hair, and they smell incredible. The salon itself didn't reek of chemicals, which is rare and lovely. I thought the prices were fair for the quality of the service they offer. They offer referral discounts (that's K-a-t-y E. ;) ) and currently a yelp check in discount for new customers.

I had high hopes that I'd get an excellent haircut, I was very disappointed. I came in with hair…read moredown to my butt and asked that it be cut to my shoulder blades with layers. What I left with was and uneven bob that sits above my shoulder blades (as well as wet spots all over my shirt). The hair wash was nice, but it went down hill from there. I was sent from the bowl to the chair with dripping wet hair, dripping down my neck and face. I attempted to wipe the water up with the cape. No extra towel was offered. The stylist asked how I wanted my hair cut, I said down to my shoulder blades, she said okay and asked with layers? I said yes. I've never had a stylist just cut my hair without confirming the length they cut before they cut it. Especially when they're cutting a significant amount off. She made the first cut and kept on going. She then dried my hair up a little bit and started cutting some more. When she felt she was done, she asked if I wanted my hair more dry, I said yes. It was still significantly wet. When she felt she was done she started taking the cape off without asking me if I thought it looked okay or showing me what the back looked like. I felt like she was rushing to get me out of her chair. Before getting up from the chair I informed her that the front looked uneven, for the next 5-10 minutes she proceeded to cut more from the back and little bits in the front. She took off the cape and said she'd meet me at the front desk. Her next client had already arrived. When I was getting out the chair I noticed huge wet spots on my shirt, I did NOT feel good about the haircut I received. While it looked a little more even, it was not and it had none of the layers that I asked for. I went home with a long, uneven bowl cut. I emailed the owner that evening when I got home and while she did offer to fix the terrible haircut I received, I did not feel confident or comfortable with having them touch my hair again. It was already shorter than I'd asked for.

It's been about ~6 weeks since my wedding and I've debated for awhile how I was going to write my…read morereview for me and my bridal party. Overall, I think this group of ladies was very professional, but I am disappointed with my hair and make-up execution. When I reached out to Salon 1|4 to do my trials, I didn't see these two items as being missed, but were unfortunately missed on my wedding day. Malia did my hair and although the curls are beautiful, she didn't part my hair straight. I have naturally dark hair and very pale skin, so my crooked hair part was very noticeable in many of my wedding photos. I did tell Malia too what kind of part I had, but she didn't bother to straighten it. Tara did my make-up, which she is very good at! The big miss on her end is that my eyeliner and/or fake lashes were not even across my eyes. Again, this was very noticeable in many up closed wedding photos of mine. It's really a big bummer and makes me sad looking through my photos. We didn't have mirrors in our getting ready space, which I regret significantly, but regardless, I really wish these ladies did a better job double checking their work before calling me done. I spent over $2000 on hair and make-up for 8 ladies, including myself. I was certainly expecting a more polished finish. I'd recommend looking at another salon or company before considering Salon 1|4 for your wedding.

During the shampoo, it felt like my hair was only lightly washed rather than thoroughly cleansed…read more There was very little scalp massage or attention to my scalp, and my hair did not feel fully washed when I left the chair. I also felt that my styling preferences were not reflected in the final result. We discussed the look I was hoping to achieve, including wanting soft, loose curls rather than tighter curls. However, the finished style looked very similar to how my hair looked when I arrived, and when it was curled, the curls were much tighter than I had requested. I had a major event to attend afterward and was so unhappy with the result that I went home, washed my hair, and restyled it myself before leaving. That was stressful and disappointing, especially after investing the time and money in a professional service. I understand that not every stylist is the right fit for every client, but I wanted to provide this feedback because I left feeling that my preferences were not heard and that the service did not meet my expectations. I hope this feedback is helpful and can be used to improve future client experiences.

The staff were friendly, professional, informative and an absolute pleasure spending time with. I called hoping for a same day appointment as advertised on their facebook page. I told Mindi what I wanted and she cut my hair exactly like the photo. I am so extremely happy with my hair. It's been a long time since I could say that. :) Here is what I learned about the salon: They are family owned and operated. They have a large range of services from hair care to skin care. They offer make up lessons, hair lessons and are willing to educate you on any beauty needs without pushing their products on you. They are priced just right! Their services and products are not overly priced!! I will be going back for continued hair and skin needs! I am so happy I found this place.
