I often feel that I am bothering them when I need to schedule an appt or am checking in for one. I love Amy Shaw. She's been our family physician for about 13 years now and I have never, ever had…read morea bad experience with her. She has the very best manner a doctor can have and works WITH her patients and not AT them. She is attentive and personable. She's handled every kind of ailment from colds to migraine headaches to "female" issues to a heart attack and everything else known to human kind with consistent excellence and enthusiasm. She knows her stuff and does it well - even with our nightmare insurance industry clogging up the system. Her staff is ... ok. Some are great and some are poorly prepared to deal with human beings and our propencity for theatrics when we're not well. Her office manager isn't very accomodating. However, Dr. Shaw is such that she outshines any deduction in rating her staff may cause. She deserves a lot more than this yelp. Too bad cloning hasn't been perfected, this world could use many, many more Amy Shaws in it.

I needed to find a new doctor when my previous doctor of 20+ years stopped taking the insurance I had at that time. My first appointment with him, all those years ago, was more of an interview experience - where did you go to school, medical bonafides sort of thing. It was an opportunity to try and gage his manner, medical expertise, and determine if we would be able to work well together. He was then, as he is now, open, direct, well educated, extremely knowledgeable, very personable, and professional. The one and only drawback is he doesn't do hospital visits. He was very upfront about this right at that first visit. And I appreciated knowing this from the get go so I could make an informed decision. He's very tuned into the medical community and has always provided me with excellent referrals when needed. We've gotten along great all these years. Appointments are easy to make on a timely basis. All the staff working there are truly fabulous. I especially appreciate nurse Fred and always hope to see him when I'm there. He's so knowledgeable and kind. My rule of thumb in seeking medical professionals - medical education counts, they have to be smart, they have to be direct, they have to have excellent critical thinking skills, and I have to trust them. Check on all counts. It's just a bonus that we also get along very well.

He only wanted to give me cortisone injections, which cost $500.00 an injection. Dr. Keller stated, "I am a neurosurgeon, I'm smarter than Dr. X, and I should know you're in real pain and need medication to control your pain." He ordered strong pain medications, and yes, for the first time I was completely out of pain. I was very concerned about the combination of prescriptions and discussed them with my doctors as well as my pharmacist asking them, "Are these combinations of medications were safe to take?" They all confirmed they were safe. I was judicial about taking them and only if I was in horrific pain. Long story short, Thomas Keller is in jail waiting to be sentenced for the death of 3 patients and over-prescribing opioids.

I am on hold forever with music and the worst part is that a voice says "1 minute hold time". Please update the phone system to accurately reflect the hold time. Like the DMV have no issues saying a hold time is 2 hours. However, this is NOT the DMV and they have one lady making appointments and takes over a hour to answer your call.
