Classy wine bar on our way to dinner. Loved the name although has nothing to do with the king himself! Super cute, quaint and cozy inside. They also have a covered patio with heat . Loved the mood lighting inside. Nice variety of wines and a few snacks. Also a few classic cocktails. Great place to meet people or sit at the bar. I had a nice but potent vesper and my friend had a nice Cabernet franc. Service was good just wish they had some better app type things to eat. Did love the vibe though. Nice and chill. read more

Holistically: - Sommelier approved wine selection (also thumbs up'd by the wine noobs as well) - Bites are a little on the pricier end but are worth it. The grilled cheese here is best one we've had (soooo gooey, soft, flavorful). The escargot balanced the seafood flavor without being overbearing - Ambiance is generally terrific: intimate, luxe, and welcoming, like you're being transported outside of nyc Notes: - Weekday service was rather slow. One of our male hosts seemed to drag his feet when we asked to move tables, even though the table was free. It didn't seem like he cared too much about us. Not sure how comfortable I would feel visiting again on a weekday. - Weekend vibes are completely different. The place is BUSTLING, and loud. Surprisingly, the service on a Saturday was much better. We were taken care of by a wonderful hostess rocking a bob, eclectic glasses, and summer mini dress. She/they were soooooo good at their job: made space for us, grabbed menus, frequent check-ins without being suffocating, memorized our orders and graciously brought our items over, granted our requests, and generally was a freaking superstar. That really stood out to us, as we were taking a girlfriend who's never been before. She had the best time. - The one cocktail we did try here was rather bland (the melon one). There wasn't much of a hint of melon and the drink tasted rather watered down. For the price, I don't think I'd get a cocktail again. However, the bartenders pouring wine, etc. seemed to be doing an impeccable job. The ambiance in this place is off the charts! It's a small, cute bar on great jones st. with some seating outside and intimate indoor seating as well. While I was waiting for my friends to arrive, I saw numerous people, from what it seemed like, on first dates so I'd definitely recommend for meeting up with friends or date night. They just opened about a month ago which is why there aren't very many reviews yet, but I think this place will become a hotspot very quickly. A glass of wine is gonna cost you around $16-19 dollars but I think it's worth it for the vibe. We got a bottle of the Grenache and it was so good. It had a tart, cherry flavor to it which was so good. Service was also great so I can't complain. One of the more popular new wine bars in town - even on a Tuesday evening there was a 30 minute wait. It seemed like a mostly fashion industry crowd. I ordered a glass of orange and we shared a few small bites. I was disappointed by the cheese galette which I had high hopes for - it tasted like a pretty standard waffle - and pleasantly surprised by the well-buttered grilled cheese, which was one of the better versions I've had recently. Such a cute and vibey wine bar spot. The atmosphere is perfect for a drink with friends or a date. The wine list is limited but what they offer is good. Four people plus an extra chair for a person in our party who was on crutches and would need to prop his leg. I explained this, but the staff member could not be less accommodating. I wish I could give more than five stars. Starting with the atmosphere...it's quintessential NY cozy chic with a Parisian flair. So inviting! Moving on to the food...we had some amazing vegetarian options. The mushroom truffle terrine was delightful, the gigantes bean salad blew my mind, and the cheese board was perfection that paired well with the crisp and refreshing orange wine.
