Service is always great! Food is great with the exception of a couple of menu items. Tamales are always dry, but the menudo is delicious!

Service is a hit and miss, at times cashier seems like she's bothered by customers and other times not (not the same cashier all the time) they do have a good variety of pan dulce which is nice. About a 15 to 20 minute drive, south of Yuma, AZ, in the City of Somerton, AZ you will find Elvira's Bakery. If I am correct, this establishment is not only a bakery but a restaurant too. The place, as of right now is almost in the far end of the City of Somerton too, but since the city of Somerton is not that big itself, you can't miss this place. Besides, if you happen to drive into towards the bakery itself at the right time of day you can get the smells of fresh baked Mexican pastries and other fresh breads made in Elvira's bakery. Not too mention the delicious smells of the tamales, and other great Mexican dishes that they prepare there. I have not had the chance to taste the other Mexican dishes there, but I will take the time some time soon. However, I have had their tamales, and they are pretty delicious! If I recall correctly, the time that I went I had two, or three beef tamales, and to end the delicious tamale treat I just had to have one of Elvira's Bakery's fresh made flan! It was delicious! Now there is also another Elvira's at the City of Yuma, but I am not sure if these two businesses are related to one another. The one that I am reviewing here is the one located in the City of Somerton, AZ. Give them a try! read more

This bakery is in the back of the restaurant. At 830 at night it was busy. Great sweet bread and Mexican style bakery treats. Took home a nice assortment. The mini carrot cake was good. I can't wait to try the fruit filled ones. read more

We get out Mexican baked goods here. Have for years. They're about the only place that makes REAL pan birote. Other places sell pan virginia as "birote', which isn't. All the Pan Dulce is always fresh & tasty. read more

I love their bread it's sooo good!! Best bread in somerton and while yuma área! I strongly recommend this place for bread and tamales and burritos! Delicious pan dulce and great prices. Great variety. There's breads, muffins, cakes, donuts, cookies. So many options and all so delicious. All very authentic and great customer service. We come here all the time. We always bring bread home after dinner at Flamingos next door. read more

I love their pan dulce! I've been coming here for years and I've never been disappointed. The empanadas are delicious and soft the conchas are always great and if you get there early enough you'll get to try some awesome churros. They also serve champurrado during the winter but again you have to get there early to get some. They sell tamales and you can order masa preparada if you just want to make your own. read more

Disappointed that the "cajeta" filled empanada was actually filled with caramel. Caramel doesn't have the same flavor so I was disappointed a Mexican bakery didn't use the real thing. read more

Horrible cakes and horrible customer service. When we went to cut the cake at my sons bday it was all wrong. We paid for a marble strawberry banana cake and they gave us a vanilla cake. When we called to let them know they messed up our order they said sorry cant do nothing for you. And to top it off our cake looked like 10 yearold did the design. Bad bad bad. So disappointed, and angry on the cake I ordered. I asked for a cake they said yes then can do it. I payed in good faith I would b given what they promised. They delivered a epic horrible cake that had no effort or experience. I asked for my money back they refused. They gave me all the excuses in the book why it didn't look the way it should. They said that's what u asked for. Ah no then they said oh I couldn't order the pieces. They had two weeks n still they did not inform me about the pieces. Then he said oh I thought u had everything for the cake. Never did I say any of that. Then proceeded to tell me to go to the cake section at Walmart to try to fix it myself.
