Fajita combo (Steak, chicken and shrimp)

Showed up before dinner opening and was greeted exactly at 5 and welcomed in. Server was attentive and friendly. Food was hot and delicious. Serving size is also really big. Both items we ordered could have fed a small family. We ended up bringing it home and the fries reheated really well in the air fryer. Would come back and would recommend going here

Bad service - we waited 30 minutes and our server was doing other things besides taking care of the table . We sat , got our drinks and waited - a 6 too came in- got their drinks then took their order right away. We sat some more and then asked to have our order taken the. A server was reminded and came over. The food was average , tons and I mean tons of cheese on the burrito bowl - I thought I had a cheese bowl. The street tacos were very oily. Drinks weak- bland iced tea like it was all water or from a mix, the lemonade was all sugar. Very interesting concepts. They need a de do - or an uno card to restart this business. Years ago - under another name - it was a very good place to eat- lively- friendly- now it's kinda - blah - just my opinion based on past good experiences.

First time customers here to Elvia Rita's and we will definitely be continuing customers! This casual and clean restaurant was perfect for us. I read the reviews before we came here and was expecting the service to be subpar but it was absolutely the opposite. The server was friendly and prompt and personable. Busy Wednesday night it seemed as the place was packed but food and drinks came quickly. Had Skinny Margaritas with chips and homemade salsa (which we bought extra salsa to take home it was the best!) I had a chicken tostada and it was a huge portion for al a carte! Delicious! Craig has the chicken verde wet burrito and devoured half as it was enormously huge! Prices were what you expect these days. Not low but not extremely high. I think my tostada was $16.

Elvia Rita's Mexican restaurant is in the heart of picturesque and fun Downtown Benicia. It's in a good location right on Main Street. Lunch was delicious and the service was great. The waiter was friendly and attentive. It's a good place to meet friends, family or that special someone.

Came to this restaurant with low expectations due to other yelp reviews, however I was pleasantly surprised! Our first waiter was very shy and forgot our drink order multiple times. He came back 3 times to ask us what our order was and then brought us the wrong drinks. After this we had a new waitress who apologized for the previous waiter and then continued to elevated our experience. As for the food I can say that it's the biggest portions I've ever seen!! The nachos were amazing and stacked with meat. Everyone left full and satisfied. Would highly recommend.

    lunch special chile verde

we were recommended this spot by a coworker who resides in benicia. he mentioned the Chile Verde was the best he had ever had - no contest. we went on a saturday morning after a hike and ordered Chicken Flautas, Beef toastada, street tacos (al pastor and chicken), quesadilla from the children menu and lunch special (green chile verde). waiting staff was prompt and super welcoming. dos equis black and pacifico, chips and salsa (salsa was a spicy and home made). great spot to relax on 1st St!

I came here with my grandma and aunt after a morning of running around... We had never been, it appeared to be open seating so we sat down... The waitress walked by us 3 times didn't make eye contact or acknowledge we were there. Two other people came in behind us and formed a line at the bar... apparently that's how you order. So we looked up the menu on my phone so that my aunt and grandma wouldn't have to go stand in line to read the menu. (Not really the most convenient) I went up and ordered the food for us.. Now I will say I waffled back and forth on 3 or 4 stars because the service was not good, but she was the only server. The reason I went with 4 stars is the taco I had was delicious! The chicken was juicy and full of flavor! I was pleasantly surprised at how good the taco was. The tea left a lot to be desired I would honestly bring in a bottle of water if I went back. When we were leaving we saw the sign on the ground that says order at the bar... I think that needs to be on the door or right when you walk in. All three of us missed it.

Dirt and dust is what's in this photo!!!!

Food was cold! My wife waited 30 minutes for hot sauce that was requested twice!!! This place really needs a leader to take over and make changes!!! If they turn that fan on- I want a free meal!!! Damn so sad!!

    Delicious chips and salsa

I love Elvia Rita's and always will! The food is always amazing and the staff is wonderful! They have an excellent selection of beers on tap too. The ambiance is nice and good vibes always

The big booths were perfect for bringing our toddlers along and made it so easy for everyone to settle in and enjoy themselves. The beer was terrific, the food was delicious, and the service was wonderful from start to finish. They also have a fun children's menu. So our party of 4 decided to call that a day and went to check out downtown Benicia, First St is lovely, full of small pubs, restaurants and shops. This taphouse looked interesting and there were a few people seated outside so we decided to check it out. It was a hot day and the server told us that the inside had AC so we decided to sit inside but there are several tables outside in the front of the taphouse and a separate area to the side of the restaurant with plenty of seating. There is a large bar to the left which leads into the kitchen area. There are several booths to the right and tables for seating in the middle of the space as well as bar seating. It was about 4:30 in the afternoon and the place was not full but there a few tables were occupied. The bar itself is very old, I was told almost 100years old and original and it is a standout feature. Beautiful. The decorations are pictures of how the place and Benicia used to look a 100 years or so back. i wanted to have a beer but don't like dark beers and when I asked the server for a suggestion, she got me a couple of samples. I liked the light beer and ordered that. We also ordered a Roy Rogers and a hop water which I was told was interesting. There is plenty of street parking but this was on holiday. I can see the parking getting tough on a weekend. I thought the prices for the food were expensive, especially for Benicia. We ordered 2 slider kid meals which were $11 each, came with kettle chips and an order of cheesesteak. It was good sized and also came with chips. Service was quick and they checked in on us to make sure that were doing fine. The only blip was when we needed the check and no one was coming around and I walked up to the bar to ask for the check and the server told me to go back to my seat and she will get it for me, it was unexpectedly abrupt. It was a nice place and I would recommend the restaurant.

I ordered the tomato prawns with linguine and toasted French bread. My partner had the prawn cocktail with a side garden salad. We also ordered iced tea, which turned out to be Brisk literally Brisk, not fresh brewed tea. For a waterfront restaurant overlooking the Carquinez Bridge, with entrées running around $29, I expected a little more attention to quality. My linguine tasted like what I can only describe as an upscale cafeteria meal. The tomato sauce had a noticeable heat to it that I don't remember seeing described on the menu, and the overall flavor lacked depth. I ended up needing plenty of lemon, Parmesan cheese, and butter just to bring some life into the dish. The prawn cocktail was extremely spicy and also missed the mark. Between both meals, the food simply lacked luster. There was also an odd metallic aftertaste that made me wonder whether some of the food had been sitting or prepared in industrial metal pans. I can't say for certain what caused it, but it was noticeable enough to affect the experience. The bright spots were the strawberry lemonade and the warm bread, both of which I actually enjoyed. What disappointed me most was that the restaurant wasn't particularly busy on this Saturday afternoon, so I expected the kitchen to have a little more room to put care into the plates. Instead, the food felt like it lacked love, effort, and the kind of detail that makes you feel good about spending nearly $30 per entrée. Sailor Jack's has one of those settings that should make the meal memorable. Unfortunately, this time the view carried the experience more than the food did. Would I return? Maybe but probably just to try a burger, enjoy the scenery, and keep my expectations much lower. Overall: beautiful location, underwhelming food, and definitely a meal that lacked luster.
