This is a good nearby alternative as they have a free parking lot. The staff were very friendly when I asked them questions, and the restrooms were clean. They had some tables and chairs to work at as well as public computers. Sitting at the table was unfortunately very uncomfortable, but it was bearable for three hours. Once kids started coming in after school, it was so loud. They have a kids' section, but it is right next to the work area, so it was very loud with kids yelling and screaming. I know it's a small library, but it's nice when the kids' section is separated from the work area.

This is the type of structure and experience you'd expect in NYC, London, and the likes. Absolute perfection. I love the way the book sections and categories are divided and set up on various floors. Each floor is crazy spacious with loads of comfortable reading areas, tables, areas for rest, etc. There are private meeting rooms, a cafe, gift shop, an art gallery, rooftop deck with crazy good views of the city and Ladybird Lake, a children's library called 'Wonderland', an events center and so much more. The librarians and staff are extremely helpful, friendly, and not bothered if you need assistance locating a book. They have almost everything you could possibly be looking for to read whether for research or fun. Access to laptops and computers. Lots of charging areas for media and phones. The library is a true marvel. It makes me happy to see and know that ALL are welcome, especially the unhoused who would otherwise not have a place to go in extreme temps. I choose my battles and I got my car keys and we drove there in our sleepers looking like a hot mess lol Marybeth was there, I told her about Brynn's moment and She was so sweet to her!! We picked few books and Brynn was so happy!!! On the way home she said "I cried for MB" "I love her" Today, a week later she remember the story and said "remember I cried" "I miss her" I knew what she meant lol She asked me to sing the little red wagon and you are my sunshine like Marybeth.
