I love our library! Despite being an older building, it is very well maintained and feels like a…read morenew structure. It offers a special teen section where anyone can peruse for a book, but only teens can sit and enjoy the dimmed and subdued atmosphere. This is quite the opposite for the bright and open children's section with a massive offering of books for the littles, ages 0 and up. Board books, picture books, short bed time stories, classic fairy tales, and the longer fare you might remember from elementary and middle school. Also with on this section, you will find a large meeting space for groups and readings, and a smaller play room you can book for play dates or just to get your gaggle of kids out of the house. They also sponsor the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program as a push to promote parent involvement in their kids' early literacy. I haven't used the facility's other meeting rooms and study carousels, but they have much to offer the community.

There are meeting rooms you can use. There are games on the shelves that you can play. They offer classes on a variety of subjects! I saw one on bicycle maintenance! They even have a 3D printer you can send them a file for and they will print it! There is the cutest cafe and a gift shop! The best part of all is the rooftop patio! You can grab that coffee, grab a book and hang out and take in the gorgeous views of the lake! I love it and can't wait to go back!

Lo and behold, I came back in 2025 and was pleased to see a completely new selection of books and tonssss of new arrivals of newly released books. Shoutout to the library staff! You can tell they're on top of it! Also, there are a lot of programs for adults with the maker labs and groups, and you can tell the staff really makes an effort here. The only reason I'm giving it four stars is, like any town with young families, there are a lot of little ones / screaming babies in the library. Many homeschooled groups meet here so it gets pretty noisy. I'm not sure if that's a solvable program or what, but it's definitely not quiet, even with headphones on, so be aware if you're there for some silent focused work. Think of it more like a plane or a coffee shop to cowork, haha.

I received NO warning while drinking water and was told I had to leave immediately because I had my mask down. I wasn't asked to pull it up, I was told to leave immediately. Absolutely insane that I can't have my mask down for 15 seconds to drink water and be kicked out without any warning. There is no federal, state, or COUNTY law that mandates masks be worn. What if I did not have the resources I do and the library was the only safe place for me to study? There is a gross over reach of power going on. I understanding wanting people to wear masks but to kick someone out completely without a single warning or asking to fix the problem first is insanely uncalled for. Please adapt better policies.

This is a good nearby alternative as they have a free parking lot. The staff were very friendly when I asked them questions, and the restrooms were clean. They had some tables and chairs to work at as well as public computers. Sitting at the table was unfortunately very uncomfortable, but it was bearable for three hours. Once kids started coming in after school, it was so loud. They have a kids' section, but it is right next to the work area, so it was very loud with kids yelling and screaming. I know it's a small library, but it's nice when the kids' section is separated from the work area.

As this was listed as the oldest continuous operating library in Texas we of course, had to stop…read morein. Not much going on this trip but it was cool to see, pretty big place and looks great. They had several floors and 2 people running the desk. The outside was amazing to look at and is a very nice building. The children and teen section is right after you come in, there are stairs and an elevator, each floor is something different. The Fiction section is quite large and has a very large stage at the front, not sure what it is used for normally but it was a cool feature. Had some comfy chairs up there. One the floor with the fiction there was a large computer room, fully empty, First time I have seen no computers in use at a library. Even Shana remarked on that. They do allow you to use a paid for by the library Ancestry account to search family history. They had displays of books, most with themes along all the window ledges. There were two offices in this area as well, both with open doors, no one in them and signs saying library staff only. We did head up to the 3rd floor which claimed to be fireplace sitting but everything up there was closed and locked. Access was not denied, no sign nor roped off but all you could get to was a microwave. It felt like is was supposed to be closed off but someone forgot? We don't live here, so no library card but it was cool to see the place. The front desk person we spoke to wasn't super helpful, Shana asked about the age and if it was the oldest and they thought so but seemed very unsure and seemed to think it weird we stopped in. Not rude or dismissive just more confused, like they don't normally get questions or visitors. Still if you like history, old buildings, libraries, or any combination of the three, this is worth a quick look and walkthrough. Judging by the state and fireplace rooms they do some cool stuff here now and then so keep an eye out for that.

I went there to pick up a book I had on hold. In contrast to central library, this branch is your old school local library with not a ton of natural light, very quiet, and stacks (of books) galore. They had a self check out machine right next to the holds area, so I didn't even have to interact with anyone to get my book. And unlike central library, parking is free so you don't have to rush to pick out a book. I have driven past this building for 2 years and never knew it was a library! They need some flashy signage or something. If you need a quiet place to get work done, this is a nice spot.
