If you are a fan of waitstaff who don't care if you live or die is this ever the place for you!! Seriously don't know what happened to this establishment. Last year we went twice and thought is was great. Went today and decided to sit at the bar so that we could truly feel the vibe. Wow. Was that ever a mistake. All the servers seem to have run of the taps and are not organized at all. The kicker here is that we sat right in front of the taps and still had to fight to be acknowledged. Did I mention that we were the only people sitting at the bar?!?! Insane right?!? Nope. True story. Finally one of the servers offered us water so we said sure. Dropped the water off and ran. Like RAN!!! Another server came up to us about ten or so minutes later and said, "do you want any food"? I asked if we could order our drinks as well and she stared at us blankly which I took as a "whatever dude". Ordered two drinks and two apps as she punched the order into her handheld device and quickly ran away. Seriously said nothing. Food and drinks came, average at best, no one checked on us, they fumbled over each other in front of us, still no one checked on us, we finished, and still no one checked on us. Finally yet another server came and took our empty plates, said nothing, walked away. Flagged down yet another server five minutes later so that we could pay. We voiced our displeasure in our experience and he DID NOT SAY A WORD!!! Just awkwardly grinned and handed over the payment machine. You cannot make this stuff up. In town from Kansas City and stumbled on this place. Made 2 visits over the weekend. Service was amazing at a table the first day, and equally so at the bar on the second. Their Borealis beer was my favorite by far, and we really enjoyed some snacky-style food too. Will have to try more food next time. read more

This place is a must for a hang out at Elora. I made reservations 2 weeks ago and I am glad I did as this place is packed! Once we got here, we saw a dozen people waiting for their table with an average wait time of 30 mins+, I let the front desk know I have a reservation and we were seated in about 10 mins. So service was great. Once we got in, the restaurant had these giant vats in the back to serve both as a backdrop as well as storage for beer. We started looking through the menu and decided to go with something light. I chose an Asian pulled pork with green salad and girlfriend had a green salad with fried chicken. The food did take a bit longer than normal to arrive, and we were slowly getting hungry. Anyhow, our food came out and I pretty much devoured the plate. Food wise, tasted not bad. Salad was alright. It's the atmosphere of this place that's really bringing the customers in. I bought some beer too to taste at home. Love the warmth and ambience. read more

This placed looked very promising. Great decoration, staff were very nice. Food was just okay. We had the wings and the burger + fries. I docked a star because the wings didnt really have flavour (crispy yes, but unless you douse them in the blue cheese dip its just meh) and the burger was just okay but the fries were excellent. We also bought a couple of their craft beers which I haven't tried yet but what I can tell you is the cans are pretty. Lol would I come back? Yes! You cant judge a restaurant by their burger and wings alone. This place has a variety of options that you SHOULD try. And please write a review about it so the rest of us can be informed. Elora Brewing is a great brewery that seems like the full package - good food, good beer, and it's also dog friendly! HOWEVER...that dog-friendly thing isn't ideal when it's November, and snowing, and you have to sit outside! haha! The staff at Elora Brewing were extremely friendly and helpful when we showed up on a snowy day with a small dog in tow. They scraped the snow off the patio table, set up umbrellas, gave us butt pads and lots of blankets. (Due to fire safety codes, we could choose the umbrella OR the patio heaters, but not both...we went with umbrellas). We got the porchetta sandwich and the fried chicken sandwich, both of which were delicious - plus thhose fries! - and flights. I tried the Helles, Borealis Pale Ale, Shine IPA and the Autumn Logger, which was surprisingly fresh and light-tasting for an amber! (My favourite of the bunch!) My partner also got the Shine IPA and Autumn Logger, but also the Pilkington and the Schwartz. All-around good beers! We thought about buying some to take home but ultimately our chilly hands had us dashing for the car once we'd paid up. We'd both love to return to Elora Brewing...albiet in better weather next time! read more

Elora Brewing is a family friendly brewery and restaurant, located in the heart of Elora, a beautiful little town on the banks of the Grand River. This was one our stops on a food/brewery crawl through Waterloo and Wellington County. Our goal was to sample the beer so we ordered a flight of four. Oddly though, three of the four beers were chosen by the brewery. I guess these are the ones that they wanted to feature. It turns out they were all very nice. Good choices. We ordered some food to share while sampling the beer. After looking over the menu, we chose the Gochujang (Korean) Fried Chicken and upgraded the side dish to poutine. Unfortunately, the chicken was a bit of a miss. There was nothing authentically Korean about the gochujang sauce and it probably would have been a better dish without it. The poutine was tasty. The setup of the place was more restaurant than brewery. Souvenirs and beers to go were available near the entrance. There were dining tables along the front windows and opposite the bar. The brewing vats and equipment were all located at the back of the space. They were visible but not being highlighted. There was a nice friendly small town ambiance to the place. We stopped in here at the end of the afternoon for a few beers. The staff was pretty attentive and we got the Arancini which was quite good. We did a flight of beers. We happened to visit the pretty little town of Elora as the location for our engagement video shoot at the suggestion of our videographer. We are so glad we did! My fiance was pretty stoked as he has wanted to visit Elora Brewing for a long time. We visited on the evening of the Riverfest music festival so thankfully it was fairly quiet when we arrived (most of the peeps in town were at the concert) and we were able to sit at a large table by the window to relax. The servers were all so lovely, especially when they held our table for us and let us change into our other outfits for the second half of our shoot. The space itself is really cool, open concept and two floors. There was also a live band the night we stopped by. They also have a giant bird (?) as well hanging from the ceiling - super unique/slightly scary decor haha. The beer was really, really good. I enjoyed a couple of pints of their citra pale ale, super refreshing. For food, we tried the pretzel platter app and it was awesome. Pretzels were super fresh, and the cheese dipping sauce served alongside was totally delicious. For mains, bae went with their burger and I opted for their mac and cheese. Everything was super tasty. Make sure you try their house made ketchup - it is everything. We purchased a few bottles to go from their bottle shop upon our exit. Looking forward to visiting again someday soon! read more

Hold on! Did I see that right? It is a brewery with a kids' menu?? Er... The Elora Brewing Company is located on the main strip of Elora's charming downtown - all 100 metres of it - acting as a bar and a restaurant. The entrance has beer and related souvenirs for purchase. Oddly, one does not wait to be seated at the front desk. rather, one has to walk up to the dining room. The dining area is comprised of a bar and a row of tables. It was lunch time and they were not busy. They have half a dozen Elora beers of course. My friend rated one of them as average. What I found alarming was the tap water, which had a funky taste. I had two sips and pushed it away. Incidentally, the glass had lipstick marks on it. The waitress took it away. Past that mishap the waitress was polite and well put together. I had the Pastrami Brisket. It was very good. It was topped with Pesto, I believe, and was delicious in its tenderness. The semi-mashed potatoes and cabbage salad were also good and done right. I would come here again with its garage doors, high ceilings and good food. With that said, the owner or manager need to take a second look at the presentation of their brewery. I understand that it is a working brewery, but there is also no denying that it was part of the presentation, shtick and charm. The brewing area had a ladder leaning against the giant casks. We visited Elora for lunch on our way to Stratford. They have very unique food items,not a huge menu. We only like 2 out of the 5 beers, they were out of many. I would give the beer a 3 out of 5. The restaurant was beautiful, very industrial. We started with savory beer nuts which I was expecting peanuts but they were walnuts which was offputting, they were lightly sweet with nutmeg and some herbs. My fiance and I had the pretzel platter. Pretzel were not overly salty. Served with beer mustard which was very beer-y and with warm cheddar sauce which I typically dont enjoy, but it was white and flavor taste like cheddar. The platter came with pickled veg and we got the housemade pickles which were dynamite. The fried chicken was spicy and very crispy, it was very potent. The fries were so good!!! read more

A lovely restaurant located in downtown Elora. It had a 19th century feel to it since it's in Elora a small town with an entire downtown core with architecture from that time period. They had excellent pork and fries which made for a good and filling lunch. read more

It was a great experience dining at the Elora Brewing. Make sure you order the flight, which is so cheap and worth trying. We ordered the fish and chips, which is so good. Unlike the other fish and chips, the chef used fresh fish (not frozen) with perfect deep fried breading. They had homemade ketchup, which I don't like but my friends like it. Their fries are not that good (I was expecting something more than McDonald fries). I will definitely come back again if I stop by Elora. read more

Oh man, Elora, ON! Way to win! This will probably be one of the best finds for a long while! Had come to visit the Elora Gorge, so after a morning of hiking and exploring, came to downtown Elora for some lunch. Was instantly drawn in by the beautiful and simple exterior, so decided to go in. The decor was rustic meets modern chic. A very open concept where you can see outside with wide open doors and right through to the giant breweries. They have the pub/bar are right next to the brewery, and a lounge upstairs for the evenings when the lower level gets too busy. Definitely have nothing to hide! The beers here were amazing. Got the Elora Borealis and the White (wh)Ale. The Elora Borealis was a little bitter and on the hoppy side, but so very refreshing. The White (wh)Ale was light and had a hint of orange to it. Both were on the June 2016 beer menu, so I would assume they change their beers regularly. The food was absolutely amazing! The Beef Brisket Sandwich is unbelievable, with braised beef and pork belly on a super light bun. The jus that came with it definitely topped it off, making the sandwich top-notch. Just beware that it is a messy sandwich if that's what you're going for. The Mac and Cheese was no joke either. Definitely gourmet and well thought out. I added braised beef to it, that definitely hit the spot. With caramelized onions at the bottom, this was a perfect mac and cheese. They also included pickles and pickled daikon which were the perfect pairing for a heavier meal. Service was excellent, from the moment you walked in the door to the moment you walked out. Explained beers without hesitation, offered great suggestions from the menu, and checked up on the table often enough, but without interrupting. Highly recommend this if you visit the gorge, or even if you're in the Guelph area! Definitely come check this one out! You'll be glad you did! read more

Given that this was located in a small town, the food I must say exceeded expectations. The prices are also very reasonable for the quality of food you're getting. We got the short ribs (meat right off the bone goodness), kale salad (for like 8 bucks, you get a generous quantity and the flavour is also super delicious - the seeds add to it), fried chicken (this was just okay, you only get two fried chicken and a ton of fries so not that worth it), the burger (they only had two burger options and this was not the vegetarian one - the burger was also very good and the meat was pretty good quality). We got a flight of beer and being not a huge beer lover, I thought the beer were okay. Some tasted better than the others but nothing that blew my mind or changed my opinion about beer. The atmosphere is super nice here. Beware of two things: it is extremely cold in there, they really crank up the AC even though it was only about 20 degrees outside. Second, they take a looooooong time to have your food ready. Pretty sure we waited around 30mins before our food finally came. I think a warning would've been nice at the beginning of the meal. None of us were in a rush so it didn't impact us negatively too much but did ruin the experience a little. Would def visit if you're up in Elora! read more

We stopped by this joint after a nice wonder around Elora and it was a great decision. My boyfriend and I both got the EBC Burger without any of the extras on top. It was great! The patty was delicious and fresh tasting and the bun could have been baked that day (maybe it was) We liked the house made ketchup and would buy a bottle of they ever planned on selling it. The fries weren't anything special but over all it was very satisfying. We each got a flight as we weren't very familiar with their beer and ended up enjoying the majority of options. Through a series of spontaneous events while off the oft beaten-track ( my kinda track ) I was steered ( =D this is amazing farming country!!!! ) into Elora and this eatery stands out! A really unique restaurant. This Brew pub makes some unique brews! Such as a sour beer, which tastes like unripened grapefruit juice. The basic beers are very good! Housed in a re-purposed old hardware store the walls are original stone, the floors old wood planks, and the rest of the decor to suit, makes this place both charming and cozy. The food is basic Brew pub style with pretzels and other pub style foods, available as platters to nosh while having a brew. The quality quantity and taste were among the best I have ever tasted. The service is fast and friendly. Most have a good knowledge of the local history, and change happening in Elora. A great place to come for a bite! read more

My wife and I drove into Elora specifically to try this place out. We were not disappointed. The service was quick and friendly. The restaurant had a great vibe, with the brewery in full view at the back. I had a beer flight and enjoyed the entire range of beers included. My favourite was the Belgian style they had on tap. The fries were excellent and came with a delicious house made ketchup which really pushed it over the top. My burger was perfectly cooked and my wife's pulled pork was great. A lot of things are overly sour at this place. Service is great but food is below average.

I don't think I've ever been more disappointed in a meal. First, the supposed Charcuterie Board is described as containing meats and cheese but actually contains a couple dollar-sized slices of salami, a tiny cut of salmon, two little wedges of cheese, and a massive pile of fermented vegetables that taste like someone has already regurgitated them, with bread. Next, the fried chicken so bland I actually longed for KFC came with more fermented veggie and a mound of tiny mushy Fry pieces, with barbecue sauce so sweet it could have been dessert. The burger that we paid an extra $3 to add bacon (1 thin slice) and cheddar (not discernable) to came with more tiny mushy fry pieces & was so flavorless that we requested hot sauce just to taste something...of course the hot sauce starts out sweeter than the barbecue sauce. What's unfortunate is that I've never left a negative review on here before, but I feel I have no choice. $80 later I'm regretting walking into the establishment at all. Go to A&W for an Uncle Burger & some Chubby Chicken and you'll be more satisfied for a fraction of the price. Too bad the beer was actually decent, because we won't be back. Whoa, Elora, you're in for the win! We came for lunch on the advice of a friend. I wasn't familiar with any of the beers so ordered a flight. I knew I wouldn't like the really bitter stuff so the waitress helped me pick things I was more likely to enjoy. The Lodestar sour ale was a surprise hit! I had the mixed grains salad and a green side salad, probably could have just had one. My husband had the beef brisket and root veg chips and was happy with both. Was here tonight for dinner. Love the location - Elora, restored heritage building, wood, exposed brick! Beer was excellent as always. Couple new brews on tap - all were great. The food was not good at all. This was our second dinner here. We're not impressed the first time and this time was worse. Ordered the fish and chips. Fish was fried with the thick skin still on all sides. Tasted extremely fishy and smelled - not fresh at all. Slaw was warm and bland. Mentioned it to the server and he didn't seem to care, went back to pouring beer. Had to bites and threw out the rest - still got charged too! Husband had a burger said it wasn't great. Fries, as mentioned in other posts, were like little crumbs. Staff wasn't the best - our server wasn't great and the girl working the bottle shop wasn't overly friendly. 3.5 is my rating. If you are ever in the area, or even after tubing at Elora Gorge, this is definitely a nice spot to chill, have a beer and grab some food. I like how the menu suggested which type of beer pairs with that specific food menu item. The braised beef brisket sandwich was tasty although it was slightly dry. There was sauce to go with the sandwich but it was not too flavorful. I would have enjoyed the sandwich more if the meat was more tender. The dish came with fries which were well seasoned and crispy. It came with their ketchup made in house, which was impressive but I actually didn't like it that much as the flavor tasted more bland than actual ketchup. The Mac & Cheese is really good! You also have the option of adding braised beef brisket on top. I love how there were caramelized onions at the very bottom of the mac & cheese - perfect pairing for each other. Had some good food and nice flight of beer (plus another full pour of some sour or Orval-ish thing.) Noted the amazing atmosphere and locale. Food was the Mac and Cheese Entrée, which was hearty and substantial enough for the $14 but also had careful nuance and flavor the from select condiments and pickle proffered therewith. It were damn tasty. Elora Beers I had were all new to me, so some stalwarts and some seasonals (maybe a soured IPA and a brett-affected ale.) All were very well-finished and at least very good to amazingly good, catching me off guard for a brewery that my Toronto self was really not aware of. I could have stayed longer and look forward to going back. Beautiful old limestone and ancient wood beams used to marvelous effect with space and light. Definitely don't miss the brewery bottle store if you only have time to pass through town, you'll want one of everything I think. I have to give it a 5 Yelpstar score for this one visit. Wandering the gorge for free is a local bonus that is entirely apart from this score, and it's exquisite scenic hiking paths with whatever sneakers or walking shoes you may have with. Inhale the Elora... feel the power of these great rivers. And did I mention the Elorans and people who work there are damn nice? It's pretty much a picturesque little tourist jewel that needs us to go there and be at least somewhat struck by its rustic, classy charms.
