Bob recently did a LOT of work on my nearly century old house - and it all turned out great! I…read morewanted to replace the original single pane wooden windows with essentially exact replicas and to reuse the original stained trim. It turned out that this was a VERY challenging ask... Bob helped find a dealer who could make and factory finish the windows to the required dimensions and then work with me on fitting most of the old trim to the new windows. It was a painstaking task, especially as the old stools needed to be replaced and Bob had to come up with a clever method for securely attaching the new stools to the windows such that they blended with the existing trim. He also had to create new trim for one window and try to match it to the others. They all came out great, and I realized that I never could have gotten the same result if I had tried to work with a "traditional" window installer - it required more time, patience, and attention to detail than they would have offered. Bob also paid attention to details that don't show, like insulating the area around the windows - another thing I would not have gotten from a traditional window installer. I am thrilled with my 27 new windows! In addition to the windows, Bob also replaced my roof (including fixing many issues that the last roofer just covered up) and identified issues with my chimney, which he also fixed. My house is now in much better shape that it was a year ago. I highly recommend Bob for all of your home projects - he cares about the quality of his work and will work with you to get the results that you are looking for.

We decided to hire Ren so we could spend more time preparing for the baby. Instead we has to jump in as Ren had a melt down in the middle of the renovation. His wife stepped in but that was not satisfactory especially for the price we were paying. He was disrespectful towards us and even screamed at us when he became overwhelmed, we suspect drunk (from what I found out personal issues at the time in conjunction with other stressful renovation projects had him at his limit). Our experience was that he was extremely unprofessional as a result. His team is unprepared and needs supervision from my wife and I while paying his 20% overhead. There is a laundry list of items from the renovation that were done poorly or need to be completely redone. We attempted to work amicably as a neighbor and with respect to his personal issues, but sadly he was unwilling to and has since been spreading rumors that we are hard to work for. Upon arriving to our home we found crew members with our copper pipes in trunk, full propane tank stolen for use at another work site of his, painters caught smoking pot, and had to give instructions to the stoned crew over and over again. We paid to do other peoples work while I needed to prepare physically and mentally for childbirth. Unfortunately this did not happen and we were up late nights preparing for the crews next day so the house was ready. Electricity still flickers and we are certain we did not get a 2nd coat of paint. A total nightmare hiring Tate Construction whom we are sadly still dealing with having to set the record straight as we cannot let false rumors go uncorrected we didn't pay.

We hired Ren Tate to build our cabana several years ago, and were very pleased with the results…read more He and his crew of about 3 or 4 other guys were timely, and did all of the work themselves (no third-party "helpers"). The work area was fairly tight, as we already had a pool fence in place and we wanted the cabana in one corner. There was no way to get a backhoe into the area, so they had to do all of the heavy lifting with shovels and such to prepare the ground for a concrete slab foundation. The cabana has stood the test of time. It was an open architecture, with basically four main corner beams supporting a roof and two side half-walls with Corian countertops. All of the supports and underside of the roof, etc. were covered with white, solid vinyl boarding (I forget the actual name of the material). The half walls were covered with regular vinyl siding. We had separately hired an electrician, who did not work for Ren, who laid tenuous wiring in the trench I dug from the cabana to a shed. One of Ren's workers quietly pointed out to me that the wiring did not seem up to code, since it was not encased in conduit. I appreciated the fact that Ren's guy was watching out for my best interests. I would hire Ren again for future projects.
