They updated a few things, moved the office towards the front, and it just seems to be running really well (do I dare say better?). Everything else is great! We rented a boat and went crabbing. Only got 3 crabs this time, but it was still fun. It's just the idea of being out there that makes it so fun! We went on a rainy day so could not enjoy the view from our site since we had to stay inside the trailer. It's okay, it was still a great visit. I look forward to going again! Ha! I have to laugh, you know when you are tying reviews, you can see others to the right. I see that one of my friends wrote a review and pretty much wrote the same as I did in the 1st paragraph. It offers its own gift shop, and restroom. Limited condiments on tables. I came prepared with my own lemon/lime and knife.

We called and were able to easily make a reservation in advance, with tips on when would be best to start our little adventure but also mentioning the flexibility of when we could show up. This was our very first time crabbing but they made it so easy for us to be successful. Jim was helpful and friendly, and Brody (I think that's his name?) explained everything about the boat and how to crab clearly enough for us beginners to understand. And the prices can't be beat either, more than fair for everything you're provided with! We loved how friendly everyone we came in contact with was and the total ease of the whole excursion. I stopped here during my spring break Oregon Road trip, which consisted of driving up through Central Oregon before I headed west to Astoria, and then down the entire coast of Oregon. I wasn't expecting to like Astoria as much as I did, but wow was I beyond impressed. The area of Fort Stevens is also very cool, it's neat how they made a park out of what was once a military site. There's so much lush greenery growing over the remaining army equipment, it's pretty cool how nature has taken over. I also saw some elk that were just sitting down hanging out in a little park. First time visiting this Marina area to do some Dungeness Crabbing! Constantly walked along the…read moredocks, the steel bridges and boardwalks to get to the nice crabbing spots. We brought our cages and nets to do some crabbing for 1 1/2 days. Arrived on Friday, 5/30/25, late afternoon at 2:30 PM. There were way too many people on the boardwalk, so we couldn't get a decent spot. Still did some crabbing by throwing the nets down for a few hours, until 7:30 PM. Got some nice sized keepers.... On Saturday, it was pouring rain until 12:00 PM. But went out from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM to obtain Dungeness Crab Limits for 4 People! 2 Coolers full of them! It was a great day after the rain stopped and we were able to catch an abundant amount of keepers! Turned out to be a nice day and an enjoyable weekend catching some crabs for the family!!! We went to the Marina one year for a pirate festival in which people of course dressed as pirates but a good runner up was mermaid costumes. It was a good time! You can also go on the jetty and get a great view of the Olympic Mountains and see the town of Ocean Shores across the water. Good views from the jetty and it gets even better going to where the fishermen are on the boardwalk. There is also a tower to go up on the west side of the marina for good views as well. When Steve and I were walking along the docks and bridges of the marina we spotted a some aquatic wildlife like harbor seals and jellyfish.
