The main dishes were similarly flavourful and complex. The only fly in the ointment was the service. It took ages to get our order taken despite the fact that there were three members of staff stood chatting by the bar. Later when we wanted our empty plates collecting and order some sweet nobody was around at all. When eventually one member of staff did arrive there were many tables that all wanted servicing creating unacceptable delays. Overall it should have been a 4/5 star review, but the poor service has dragged it down, but the food was so good I'm going to be generous and still give it 4*. Recommended, just don't be in a hurry.

I guess one factor…read moreis it's location is rather out of the way, and unless you have been recommended it you are unlikely to find it by accident. That said a taxi to The Bombay Bay shouldn't be hugely expensive (and it's worth getting there) or you can take a short walk along the seafront, or from the nearest bus stop. The Bombay Bay has it's own website and as you can see from the menu online the prices are excellent value for the quality of the food. The pictures are representative of just how nicely the meals are presented. I was surprised by the generously sized portions and very pleased as all the dishes I have tried have been delicious. The restaurant is very clean with a nice atmosphere and well placed tables and for those who smoke, and those who want to enjoy the view and a spot of fresh air there is also a balcony which is a nice bonus.

Until this point, I had always found it too spicy and rather intimidating. It's rather small inside, and very popular; it was full when we went. The menu is varied, but as an Indian food virgin, I played it safe with Chicken Tikka Masala (to this day, it is the best I have ever tasted). I also had a portion of Kashmiri rice (pilau with sultanas and almonds in it) and garlic naan bread, and both were sensational. The staff were super friendly, and the place was very clean. Food was prepared and delivered impressively fast; we were a group of 20-odd and were all served within 15 minutes. They also do some nice desserts; I had ice cream with honey. I couldn't recommend this place enough, it's only a shame I am nowhere near Hayling Island or I'd make regular visits there, but it's a MUST for anyone going to or living on Hayling Island.

We've tried various curries and sides from here, including the korma, butter chicken, rogan, jalfrazi, biryani, veggie curry, sag aloo, and a few different naans. No complaints about any of the flavours with these curries! Their peshwari naan is packed with coconut and sultanas and goes really well with the more mild curries. They usually give us extra papadoms when we order them too. For takeaway, I'd recommend booking online if you want to eat early as they are often very busy at opening. We will continuing being regulars here!

And old pub converted into this fabulous Indian restaurant and takeaway. A full car park which is always a good sign, diners packed into the dining room noshing away at bowls of golden curry, fluffy rice and fresh crisp naan breads. There where four of us and we had booked because quite honestly you have to. I'd be very surprised if you got a table if you'd just walked in off the street. Again another very good sign. We where greeted by a friendly member of staff and shown to our table. Drinks orders where taken and poppadoms brought to the table. The pickles that accompanied the poppadoms where delicious. Not too sure if they where made in house or not I'm guessing not, but either way they tasted good. We did have starters and with quite an extensive collection there is a lot to choose from. I had the king prawn butterfly. A deliciously perfectly cooked king prawn fried in golden breadcrumbs and served with a small side salad. For the curry then, I had a lamb rogan josh. Quite a mild dish with only a little spice added. To accompany that I had a keema rice and a couple of chapattis. The rice dish is enough for two to share as the curry itself is quite filling. But it was a lovely accompaniment. Not too overpowering with the spiced meat and not too overloaded with onion they got the balance just right. The rogan josh was delightful. It's the first time I've had it and I was impressed. Delicately flavoured and packed with tomato and onion. The sauce was really tasty there just wasn't enough of it to dip the bread in. The meat itself was nice a little tough for my liking but still very nice. The chapattis where beautifully cooked, fresh and hot strait out of the tandoor they where perfect. Not too small you think what's the point. And not too bit you think what am I going to do with this? The meal was finished off nicely with complimentary liquors. We decided not to go for dessert because we'd had such a good meal there was no more room. The service in this restaurant is very good. The staff are friendly, polite and helpful. They are only to happy to recommend a dish to you especially if you a first time curry eater. The restaurant itself is very contemporary, spacious and inviting. I'd highly recommend this place to any curry lover or someone who wants to go to a curry house for the first time. I shall definitely be going back in the not to distant future.

We ordered a selection of starters, mains, rice and naan to share and I enjoyed all of it. There are no pakoras on the menu which I did find a bit disappointing, but it did make us try something else for a change. We ordered a few different dishes (can't remember them all!) but we definitely had both the Butter Chicken and the Garlic Chicken and a Dahl, all were full of flavour and got demolished! The restaurant was clearly very busy, both with sit in diners and take away orders, yet our order was ready about half an hour after we phoned it through. Would highly recommend giving this place a try.

The waiter forgot several elements of our order (drinks, poppadums, which set menu we asked for) and it was s.l.o.w. We sat down and ordered about 730 on a Saturday - it wasn't busy, but nor was it empty. We had to re-order the poppadums, the starters on the set menu came after about 45 minutes, and at 1.5 hours, we had to ask after our mains as I was now in danger of missing my train. The mains were 'just ready', but were in fact the wrong menu. Interestingly, it only took 5 minutes to get us the correct mains after the mistake was highlighted. General panic seemed to ensue when we needed the bill and asked to take most of our uneaten food away with us. that said, I did catch my train... While not unpleasant, the slowness of service did make us wonder if it was a ploy to encourage drinking (though my companion and I were not drinking, if that was the plan, it was working on the table next to us). Everyone's meals appeared to be equally slow, so I guess if you expect that, it wouldn't be terrible. Despite most of the food being decent (bar the included desert of fruit, which was canned pineapple chunks which appeared to have fermented), it wouldn't be worth the general incompetence to tempt me back again. There are tons of other options just on this street, much less in the whole city.

It was bland and tough. I'm really disappointed but for me though the biggest let down is the service, I live nearby and I live in a block of flats with a lot of elderly residents who used to love popping in midweek for a meal and a chat, one such resident recently told me she was in there and was charged £28 for fried rice, a sweet & sour chicken and a Chinese tea. Stumbled here on a Sunday afternoon after finding Tang's (to be reviewed soon) was closed until dinner hours. Quick summary: Food: Thai - 4 out of 5 for authenticity and flavor. English breakfasts and chippy meet the standard and is offered to cater to the less adventurous. Of the 4 dishes we tried, the Pad Thai stood out as the dish of the day, made with the right balance of tamarind and garlic; we ordered two portions to start and an additional third after my family devoured the first two. Springs rolls were crunchy, even with the chili sauce it was served with. Ambiance: Simple diner style. Ask to prop the door open for ventilation. Although I don't mind, coriander, garlic and curry can be sometimes overwhelming. This place does not have a liquor license, but it is BYOB so hop on two doors down and pick up a Hoegarden Heff to tame the spice. Customer Service: A bit of a language barrier, so keep your special orders to yourself. I requested to add beef to a particular menu choice and ended up with a completely separate beef dish. Price is fair - for a family of six we all left very satisfied for a mere 40 quid.
