Open communication, regular updates, an understanding of what's required are all delivered as standard - where they go beyond is by anticipating challenges and identifying solutions before you've realised you needed them!

Not only did Office Angels get back to me, they also managed to secure me work for several months. Not bad, bang in the middle of the recession. I would advise anyone looking for employment to hand their cv in to the office in person rather than just e mailing it as the agents receive loads of e mails every day.

Change Recruitment
I would say that the problem with Change is that they are so enormous that any interaction with…read morethem is ultimately rushed and perfunctory. They cover a wide swath of the UK with many, many employment opportunities in several fields. This is a definite plus. But presumably because they are so big and seeing so many resumes, they tend to dismiss and/or pigeonhole jobseekers rather quickly. I applied for several jobs with them, but could never get the time of day unless it was specifically travel related, even though I met all the criteria for whatever job I was applying for. I also never received any feedback about why my CV wasn't considered, even after I explicitly outlined how I was a good candidate for that particular role. No matter what, I would get shunted over to the travel recruiters, who weren't offering anything I couldn't find myself. So, meh. They do have a myriad of employment options across the country, but they are very rigid and impersonal, and often do not get back to you.
Manpower UK
Manpower was a pretty good recruitment company. My recruiter seriously hustled for me on this one…read moreparticular job and I sincerely believe it was his enthusiastic endorsement of me that got me the interview, because while it was a job I could do, it wasn't something I had direct experience in. He had me come in for a pre-interview where he critiqued my answers, which has been helpful in every interview I've had since. The only thing is, when I didn't get that job, my recruiter fell off the face of the earth. He never came back to me with other opportunities, and the jobs they have tend to either be very highly skilled or grimly entry-level, with not much in between. However...when they do have a job that they think you'll be right for, they will bust their butts to get you the interview, big you up and make sure you are well prepared and confident. It can't hurt to throw your hat in their ring if you're looking for a job.

She asked if l had a particular qualification l had to say no as they abolished that qualification in 1992 on the pad she wrote that l had no qualifications. There was no word of checking a c.v to match skills to a particular job or a reference.

After being told they'd have something for me "within the week", I left happy and confident that I'd soon be on the way to a high flying career. Several months later, I got a call asking me to apply for a job as one of Santa's helpers in the St Enoch Centre. I kid you not. As much as i relished the prospect of spending a few weeks in elf costume, stood next to a boozy old chancer with a cotton wool beard, I politely declined. The second star is solely for the comedy value of it all.
