Run by the Scottish Government careers help and advice to every…read morelost soul like myself who needs the occasional point in the right direction in terms of info and guidance when looking for employment or even a route to further education, or hell, why not both, lets go wild. Now before you explode with excitement and make a mess of your computer just remember that these guys can only work with what you give them so if your a denser or a lazy ass they ain't going to be able to do much...i jest. With a number of of guidance counsellors in house who are available on a drop in basis, free Internet and phone access (if work related of course), access to employment and advice journals and magazines this really is a good place to pop into if you find yourself at the old employment crossroads. Located on the corner of Byres Road and Dumbarton Road, this is the local office for the west end of Glasgow and a place i have found myself on a couple of occasions for a bit of advice or even just to bounce a few ideas of someone. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the facilities are pretty good as well, even if the Internet is a bit on the slow side. So, if you find your in need of a bit of help why not pop in here for a quick chat, you might not get all the answers but a point in right direction is sometimes just as good.

Hmmm... not sure what to say about this agency. I give credit, the do pay... but takes about 3 to 4…read moremonths to recieve payment. I literally worked a contact 3 months before seeing a penny. Turns out, which is not told to you when coming on board and taking a contract, that you don't get paid till they get paid. And if they don't get paid... nor do you and you worked months for nothing. So it's not a normal recruitment agency. The whole point of a recruitment agency is security of payment. You get paid weather they do or not. That's why they get such a big cut off all your hard work. So basically, they're taking a chunk of money from your head... and don't even have to risk anything. And the massing headaches having to chase money! I've got through bottles of aspirin! And the retort of being a pain in the bum just for asking for payment! I finally got my last payment months after I finished the contract. FINALLY! I had to beg, annoy, and moan! But I got it! Is this agency legit? I guess, I did get my money in the end, but took months! And if the client doesn't pay them.... your up shit creek! And they loose nothing!

Yes you are not seeing things. This establishment has merited 5 stars relating to a personal best…read morewitnessed by this reporter on her visit there last week. I'd like to say "Well Done" to that days personal ad visor, who Didn't feel the need to frown on my serious efforts to find work. She also didn't feel the need to slate my efforts as "Obviously" not enough as I didn't get a job, or grill me as to why my several different ways of going about finding work were so limited. As she called my name the moment I stepped into the office i didn't even have the chance to pray at the mighty "Job Point" who's inability to work out what "Local Area" means, and it's ecologically criminal use of paper is never questioned. To put it in a nutshell. I was in and out of the establishment in about 1 minute flat. I felt lighter and i actually had a smile on my little losers face. Well Done JCP Clydebank

I'm 17 autistic and fled domestic abuse, which my dad was arrested for, im in temporary…read moreaccomodation, I explained that, and I explained thats why I have no ID apart from what i have on my phone, I've got online banking, nope they wouldnt accept it, the person i was speaking to went to speak to the manager, I tried to go over to mention about other ID i have on my phone, but i didnt get the chance, I didnt get all the way over, they told me to go and sit back over there, when the appointment person came back, they told me I need to leave, I said ok and went to sit down to book a taxi they came over and said I'm not gonna get universal credit cos I dont have ID and I said ok and they said I need to leave now so I said im booking a taxi and they said Ok no problem. Ive spoken to my homeless worker who has explained to me that the people at this job center shouldnt have treated me like this in these circumstances and there should have been something they could do because not everyone has ID
