As well as providing copies of industry magazines, some business reference books and directories - it also has it's own computer section. These computers are not for general use, however, they are to be used to browse the amazing online resources hosted by Business @ The Mitchell. Some of the services are available remotely - which means you can access them from the comfort of your own home - but others can be reached only from the Business Library itself. Plus, you need to register to use these services - so you need to make a trip down to the library the first time you want to use them. Once you're on the system, though, you will have access to demographic reports of all wards in Glasgow, business directories, business start-up advice, industry fact sheets and reports on industry trends - among many others. If you're in business already, or if you're in the process of starting up, then you'll find Business @ The Mitchell a really useful resource.

However, when I returned she said she had opened the windows and since it was a yellow wind warning in Glasgow, one of the internal doors slammed hard and got stuck! She couldn't open it again and neither could I. Eventually I got a locksmith to come out for a charge of £147. I contacted the company to let them know and ask if they had insurance for this type of event and Adele sent a very rude email accusing me of making it up! The standard of cleaning was very good so I would have booked them again for another job but clearly their website rhetoric about satisfaction is completely fabricated. I would steer clear of this company. Updated to add that Adele continued to send me aggressive emails attacking my character and I had to request that she no longer contact me! Worrying behaviour.

I don't know…read moreif it will pass the letting agents inspection, but I can tell you it's the most clean I've seen any flat in Edinburgh...and that's after having a dog in the flat. I'm really impressed with their work. The guy who came was professional, polite, and to himself. He was also helpful, giving advice about cleaning the external side of the windows and knowing what agents are looking for; so that he does it correct. He cleaned and polished the hardwood floors and just did a great job at detailing the place.

Found out I was being charged for a service I wasn't receiving. Received rude and aggressive emails when I queried this. Suddenly was forced to pay up front because I was "receiving a service throughout the year". Requested advice on several occasions. No reply. No acknowledgement. No advice. Big phone bill due to repeated calls to HMRC to get advice I was paying Callan to give. Sent info for company return 2015-16 in May 2016. Had discussions with Callan in June to refine detail. Contacted Callan many times throughout December expressing concern about not having received accounts for filing. Finally received a holding response on January 9th. One day before the deadline, Stephen provides the information and tells me it was done in September. The take away message is: STEER CLEAR or risk your sanity. Business Gateway have taught me so much! This is a free service run by the council offering free…read morecourses for people wanting to learn about business. I have signed up to 8 courses and have already completed 4 of them, they have fantastic presenters and manage to pack in loads of information on the day. The council fund them to run these classes. Most classes run from 9.30-12.30 which is a shame as I would prefer it if they were run as an evening class because I have to keep taking time off work to attend them but other than that I have no complaints.

It has a meeting room / exhibition space at the back and a wee shop that sells a mix of art and arts magazines. Sit by the window and watch the world get on and off the buses across the road. Often frequented by arty looking types & there's a reason for this. It's because its in the middle of an artist hub. Upstairs are studio for artists and forms part of WASPs Studios - http://www.waspsstudios.org.uk - along with The Briggait nearby. The studios are normally closed to the public however they do open up at least once a year and are worth visiting as you'll find a world inhabited by fine artists, illustrators, sculptors and might even pick up a bargain if they're selling their work.
