Yes you are not seeing things. This establishment has merited 5 stars relating to a personal best witnessed by this reporter on her visit there last week. I'd like to say "Well Done" to that days personal ad visor, who Didn't feel the need to frown on my serious efforts to find work. She also didn't feel the need to slate my efforts as "Obviously" not enough as I didn't get a job, or grill me as to why my several different ways of going about finding work were so limited. As she called my name the moment I stepped into the office i didn't even have the chance to pray at the mighty "Job Point" who's inability to work out what "Local Area" means, and it's ecologically criminal use of paper is never questioned. I'm 17 autistic and fled domestic abuse, which my dad was arrested for, im in temporary accomodation, I explained that, and I explained thats why I have no ID apart from what i have on my phone, I've got online banking, nope they wouldnt accept it, the person i was speaking to went to speak to the manager, I tried to go over to mention about other ID i have on my phone, but i didnt get the chance, I didnt get all the way over, they told me to go and sit back over there, when the appointment person came back, they told me I need to leave, I said ok and went to sit down to book a taxi they came over and said I'm not gonna get universal credit cos I dont have ID and I said ok and they said I need to leave now so I said im booking a taxi and they said Ok no problem. Ive spoken to my homeless worker who has explained to me that the people at this job center shouldnt have treated me like this in these circumstances and there should have been something they could do because not everyone has ID read more

I recently gave up my job and started college, so have had quite a few dealings with the job centre recently. It's all been renovated since i was last there years ago, and looks quite modern and welcoming. The staff are all actually very nice, especially the security staff. Easily accesible by most buses that go through clydebank including the 66 and 62. Also is less than 2 mins walk from Singer train station. read more

In general most staff here are pleasent and helpful to deal with, its a shame that a few bad eggs let the place down. Twice during my time using this job centre there has been a problem with my claim, once they lost my file and I was sat waiting for a hour but they delt with the problem in a good manner and kept me informed of what was happening. the second time however I felt that the person dealing with the problem didnt really care, she had an air of arrogance and I got the impression that she felt better than me because she was in a job and I wasn't (even though I was unemployed due to redudancy, not my unwillingness to work and had been in employment for 10 years previously). After the issue was "sorted" to the best that she could do with me, I was still unsatisfied with the outcome so decided to visit the citezans advice. It turned out that she had in fact given me all the wrong information. (some of which would have had serious affects on my ability to support my self and keep my house) She also never informed me of various other things I could be recieving which had a serious impact on my quality of life. I had asked her a direct question about a service I may have been able to get and she answer no without even checking my information and said Id just have to cope. Where as Citizeans advice said I was able to get this service and had it sorted in a hour. I feel that the Job centre would be a better place to visit if the staff were more consistant, one person will move mountains to get things sorted and another will give you a phone number and scoot you out the door. read more
