I really appreciated her knack for using simple language and examples to help me understand everything. This put me at ease immediately and was very helpful. Additionally, Katrina was very prompt and personable. Even though I contacted her during the holidays, she got back to me right away and kept me updated on her progress the whole time. She has a warm, professional manner and is incredibly hardworking. I heartily recommend Katrina and look forward to working with her again.

So the EFF has a list of attorneys, and I kid you not I wrote an email to every single one of them. Katrina (P.O.V legal services) was one of the first to actually reply back to my email. After receiving replies back from most of the attorneys I decided it would be best if Katrina represented me. Once we met she informed me exactly what was going on and the different options I could take, which gave me a sense of relief. From there on she was extremely helpful, if I ever had a question I would shoot her an email and she would reply and answer back pretty fast. She worked with me around my busy work schedule as well. To summarize I can say that I am very pleased with my experience with POV(Katrina). So if you were like me a few months ago frantically looking for an attorney for matters like this, go with POV!

When I went in for my interview, at the USCIS offices in Tukwilla, Dan was there before I even showed up and walked me through the process as we waited. I, frankly, could not recommend The Law Office of Daniel J. Smith anymore, and anyone looking for some help to navigate the complex waters of a naturalization should take some time and talk to Dan. This was an unprofessional backwards experience. I started my claim with this company thinking I…read morewould be in good hands from a serious auto accident, but I was wrong. It took the lawyers forever to follow up, and I would get excuses every time we would speak. They initiated a plan for me to get the best care and the best insurance claim possible but that was not the case. I ended up paying the majority of my settlement in bills, from being instructed by the lawyers at this firm to attend several health professional classes which racked up thousands of dollars in medical bills, without any consideration of what I would have to endure in the long run. The bills was negotiated with my settlement at a low amount and in the end after the bills was payed from the settlement I was left with nothing, still needing future medical care and having nothing to help myself financially for having future and current problems . The secretaries were very rude and did not follow up on time, and would get attitudes when you would mention there unprofessionalism. This office even took 30% of my settlement for doing nothing. It took my claim 2.5 years for nothing, and with all the misinformation, bad litigation, and unprofessionalism, you would have thought they would have been courteous and not take so much due to bad planning and litigation having there client liable for so much in the end. I will never recommend this law firm. My advice find an office that actually care, and has a legit plan so you can come out in the end to help you and your family. I will never be the same after that accident and coming here made it worst financially. I will not recommend this office at all and I pray they don't ruin you as they did me! Ps. This law firm also received more money out of my settlement then I received after the medical bills was payed, which makes no sense. That should explain it all right there

TLDR: overly high hourly rate, did not get enough attention to our case to justify price…read more After we bought our house, we hired a foundation consultant to come evaluate a sunken corner of the dining room. He found evidence of rot and evidence of the previous owner covering it up with new wood. He recommended us to hire a real estate attorney and sue the seller since they should have disclosed the history of rot. We got a quote from a contractor for $50k for the repairs. Dave was very responsive by e-mail. He did not offer a free consultation and charges $575/h which is very high, but we thought the price might reflect the quality of work. However, his counsel was subpar. He reviewed our documents and pointed items noted by the inspector that were found in other areas of the house, unrelated to the area in question. When we were evidently very confused, he never offered a call to discuss the details. He kept insisting that we didn't really have a case, so we also didn't want to consume more of his time and burn our money. The demand letter that was drafted was not convincing at all, since Dave never took the time to understand the details. The seller was not convinced and hired their own attorney, at which point Dave advised us not to pursue them in court. That was the only time we talked on the phone. The subpar letter costed us $1,970. I feel like any attorney could have drafted a letter of this quality, even those who charge $300/h. Do not make the same mistake as me in assuming that higher rates equal higher quality of work.

Very disappointing experience and poor communication…read more We scheduled an appointment with the firm, but when the appointment time arrived, nobody called us. We contacted the office to check, only to learn that the appointment was expected to be in-person. This was never communicated to us when the appointment was scheduled. After more than 15 years of working with attorneys, including immigration lawyers for H-1B, green card, and citizenship matters, we have never had an in-person consultation assumed without being clearly informed beforehand. What was most disappointing was how the situation was handled. When the receptionist transferred us to the lawyer, the following was the exact conversation: Lawyer: Who gave you this appointment? My husband: Someone from your office had scheduled it. I don't recall the name. Lawyer: Schedule another appointment. We don't do appointments on call. Such a waste of my time. She then abruptly hung up. Speaking to a prospective client in this manner was not only rude but also demonstrated a lack of professionalism and communication skills. This could have been resolved professionally and respectfully. An expected professional response would have been something along the lines of: "It looks like there was a misunderstanding when the appointment was scheduled. Our consultations are only in person. Please reschedule, and our staff will be happy to assist you. That would have resolved the issue respectfully. I strongly recommend that the firm train its scheduling staff to clearly communicate appointment details. Lawyers to emphasize professional and respectful communication with prospective clients.
