Got to try Elli Mochi for the first time and was SO IMPRESSED! Donut was very chewy, exactly how I like it and they did not skimp out on the flavors either. My favorite flavors were the strawberry and ube (fruity ones). I'm glad there's a good mochi donut place in Howard county that can satiate my cravings. I'll definitely be visiting again!

I LOVE Elli Mochi donuts! The flavor selection is amazing and the staff is welcome and kind. The ube one is my absolute fav! The spot is cute, quaint and they also sell corn dogs too!

I love this place. Really unique flavors. Staff is super friendly and the donuts are my fave in the area. Great to bring to a party as a fun alternative to cake or cookies and share with friends.

I wanted to try something different for a birthday "cake" and came upon this spot. It's located at the corner of a small business center. They had a plethora of flavor options for their mochi. I ended up getting a half dozen and each one was delicious. I gifted them to my husband for his birthday and it was hard for him not to eat the whole box lol The mochi donuts were very soft and the perfect sweet treat.

summary: cute little corner bakery spot offering desserts and mochi-style donuts. They offer sweet drinks, ice cream, and rotating pastries. The staff was kind as well. details: I tried 3 different types of mochi donuts and they were all delicious. (They were all sweet and rich, so I'd probably say pace yourself if you haven't had mochi donuts before. Mochi is a type of rice flour that is richer than the typical donut dough.) The flavors seem to rotate and they also offer different batch sizes depending on what you're looking for. It's a very cute spot located in the corner of a strip mall. There's not much seating inside if you're trying to dine there.

Popped into the shop couple of hours before they close to grab some after dinner sweets and we were not disappointed. Our favorites were the honey butter and maple drizzle, not a big fan of the blueberry or other fruity flavors, just a personal preference, doesn't mean they are not good. Since all of their mochi donuts are delicious and tasted very buttery. $3.5 for a single donut is not cheap, it gets cheaper the more you buy. The young adults working in the shop were efficient, did not see any smiles on their faces but figured it is towards the end of the day already, that tiredness probably caught up to them. The shop looks fairly clean, with casual atmosphere and it is located in one of the small strip malls near old town Ellicott City, parking can get crowded but still have availability. Definitely recommend by @WindDinenVacay

Delicious! Loved trying these for a little something fancy and more unique. Every flavor was delicious but all very very sweet. Lemon was by far the best. The shop itself is bright and clean and staff very friendly and helpful.

    Ube and Oreo (9.30.22)

9.30.22 You know it has to be fantastic when my picky husband says it's now one of his favorite desserts and is among the top contenders along with Nothing Bundt Cakes and his general favorite cake, tres leches. I purchased an Original Half Mozzarella, Half Beef and two donuts, Ube for myself and Oreo for my hubby. They offer different coating for the corndog including: Potato, Cheetos, or Ramen. I will definitely try the Potato or Ramen next time. For the donuts I was narrowing it down to Ube, Oreo, Tiramisu, or Pinkholic. Jae said the Ube is like Taro so I went with that since I like Taro. The donuts were light and chewy on the inside and wonderfully flavorful. The corndog was crunchy on the outside and the cheese was nice and gooey. Delicious all around! Jae took my order and was super friendly and helpful. I asked Jae for a knife and fork to cut the corndog and he kindly asked if I wanted him to cut it into slices, which I said yes to. Shortly thereafter, he asked if I wanted to try the honey garlic sauce, which I vaguely recall him saying they just made. It was a thicker consistency and more sweet compared to a honey garlic sauce typically available at standard Korean BBQ restaurants. I am definitely a huge fan and look forward to trying the other flavored donuts.

First time trying Mochi Donuts and I love how they're a gluten free, rice flour option that isn't greasy and feels lighter (and hopefully healthier). The shop itself is very cute and aesthetically pleasing. I love how they incorporate yellow into their exterior design. Personally, I enjoyed the chewy, mochi texture compared to normal donuts. I also enjoyed the variety of unique flavor options. Honestly, I'm not a donut person, but it was nice trying unique flavors and seeing the hype of mochi donuts. Considering I'm not a donut fanatic, I could see myself coming here once in a blue moon for a donut fix. The flavors can be a hit or miss depending on what you're expecting, but still worth the try nonetheless! Flavors Ordered: -Pandan Coconut (not pictured- sugary no pandan taste to me) -Thai Tea (didn't taste Thai tea- tasted chocolate) -Raspberry Cheesecake (liked the cheese element- solid choice) -Strawberry Lemon (alright, not my favorite- wouldn't get again) -Tiramisu -Oreo Cookies and Cream -Birthday Cake -Toasted Coconut (tasty, but could have more coconut flavor) -Peach (best one out of the list- artificial peach taste but good)

So the flight was for different ice lattes paired with a pastry, which was a croissant a Blondie brownie, a macaroon and lastly.strawberry cake for $25. It took a while for the flight to be prepared because I think they're a little bit shortstaffed on a Monday morning, but they had a lot of comfortable places to sit and wait. The corn beef sandwich came out good and I mentioned it was simple because it's literally just corn beef with some white bread and some cheese, but it was actually pretty tasty for breakfast. The coffee flight came out and it's on a large paddle and it looked really delicious. I have to say the regular flavored lattes and the croissant weren't my favorite choices, but as I started moving down the paddleboard towards flavored lattes and the Blondi bar, it was pretty good. My favorite latte was the butter beer and my favorite pastry actually turned out to be the Blondie brownie bar. The inside has enough seating for about 50 people and it's really cutely decorated. I highly recommend stopping in if you're in the mood for a coffee after a day of shopping in Ellicott city.

There were 6 of us, and they were able to put two tables together to accommodate us. I was overall disappointed with the food. The waffle which I paid $5 for was super small and there were just chunks of sugar in it. I also ordered scrambled eggs with spinach and cheese. The spinach came out on the side of the eggs and was uncooked. The cheese was not melted, and the eggs were burnt (dark brown and dry). The waitress was kind enough to take the eggs back for the cheese and spinach to be mixed/melted. They were still burnt and flavorless. I picked around and ate what I could. I also ordered some kind of spinach and feta pastry from the front case, which was good. We also all enjoyed the homefries which were crispy with a unique seasoning. We ordered the stuffed french toast which had a great flavor, but it wasn't really stuffed, there were just toppings on it. My nephew ordered the chicken and waffles. He's 15. I'm guessing that waitress assumed he was a kid and gave him the kids portion. Either way, the fried chicken looked like two pieces of frozen chicken schnitzel. My mother ordered the Reuben and did not like it at all because it lacked flavor.

Introduction to history & deciding to go there:…read more Just read an article yesterday that Crazy Mason will be closing at the end of August. I was in old town Ellicott City on Saturday, April 18 for their Springfest. The only times I end up venturing to downtown is when there's some event going on. We were meeting up with my friend & his family. My friend's brother mentioned Crazy Mason was excellent and that they were very close to the concert stage area we were. I said to my girlfriend I'd be game to try them out to split a shake. Having one by myself is a lot of sugar, so splitting is a more sensible option, not to mention less total cost. This was originally the Ellicott Theater in the 1940's & 50's. Various performing artists, discotheque, etc. had its spot. It's cool this Crazy Mason milkshake place took over this space. Unusual for anything in the ice cream category to have such a large space. I also learned that they started in Myrtle Beach. I could see why as it's a touristy beach area, which various ice cream shops and some more unique options are more common than say in Howard County, MD. Although old town Ellicott City doesn't have the level of tourism that Myrtle Beach would, they have some and of course many locals who go here. In 2024, I had a friend in town, and we drove him up to old town Ellicott City to look around. I just read they started in June 2020 during Covid. The Ellicott City location opened in 2022. It's unfortunate they only lasted 4 years as they were outstanding. My experience: The staff was friendly. We asked for recommendations. The younger guy who was taking orders & making shakes, enthusiastically made a couple of suggestions to us. We settled on the Cookie Mashup, which was a shake with chocolate chip cookie, chocolate syrup, cookie dough bites, cookies n' cream, crushed chips ahoy, crushed Oreo, vanilla buttercream, whipped icing, and [deep breath] a whole Oreo on top. We opted to get it in their souvenir Crazy Mason jar, which is in a mason jar. We sat in the many seats on a lower level with a stage in the background. We waited maybe 10 minutes as they were pretty busy on that Saturday of Springfest. Wow, this shake was outstanding! One of the best shakes I've ever had. It was some flavorful with a lot of great ingredients. We both loved it. I will say it was quite messy, but it was worth it! The price was pretty expensive, but it was an experience. And I would get again, but it's quite unlikely I'll be in old town Ellicott City between today 8/11 & the end of August when they close. We asked the older gentleman who was the cashier & giving the finished shakes if we could wrap the mess we left behind on the mason jar. He said let me give you a new clean jar, which I thought was very nice, and let us keep the used jar too wrapping both of them carefully. In summary, I wish they were staying open for much longer than the next 3 weeks as they really were great and very nice staff/owner too!

The serving was large, and our order was ready quickly. Can't go wrong with dole whip, although the non-dairy ice cream was kind of flavorless. Still delicious though. The place is huge (it used to be an old theater) with plenty of tables. There is also a small game room up front with arcade games. Lots of cute murals on the wall to help capture the moment. There were also annoying gnats flying around, so I think next time I'll eat outside, but I will definitely be back.
