This review marks my 2300th. It is fitting that it's about preparing to travel to the States, which…read moreI haven't done since early March 2020. I originally booked an appointment through Specialty Rx Pharmacy for a COVID-19 antigen test. When I arrived at the pharmacy, I was directed over to Ellesmere Healthcare Centre to check in. I got Joan at reception, who was the sweetest woman. I indicated that I had an appointment at 10:45 am. She found me and asked that I fill out a short form. The last question in a series of five was a trick. Most of the questions had me answer no. The last one asked, "Are you fully vaccinated?" I checked no accidentally. Oops! We got that straightened out. You do need to provide proof that you are you. A passport or driver's licence work. I provided the latter. Done! I had already provided my health card details online, so I didn't need to flash that. It was strange, but I'm guessing that my driver's licence proof reinforced my health card information. She confirmed that I was travelling to the States. You do need to have this antigen test within 72 hours before your departure. She had to think about my situation. I said that it was more like 52 hours. We both chuckled, as she implied that math was not her strong suit. She entered my information into the system. I had added my credit card information online, but her payment system was down. We settled payment at the pharmacy, which was smooth and seamless. When she was ready, we headed over to a medical room. She let me know that I could keep my mask on, but to lower it enough for her to swab both nostrils. She used a swab with a brush tip. She swabbed and it felt like a tickle, but without my bursting out in laughter. It was oddly enjoyable. Who knew?! She let me know that it would take ten minutes for my test result. She said that I could come back in ten minutes. I indicated that I'd wait in the waiting area, which was cool with her. Sure enough, ten minutes later, she had my printed report ready. She had also sent me a digital version of it. She asked that I look over all details to make sure that everything was good. It was. I wished her a great day. She wished me a safe trip. It was such a great experience. This clinic does take patients. It doesn't take walk-in patients, but you can book an appointment to see a doctor. The clinic is clean. The pharmacy and clinic are under one roof without any walls when you are inside. Both businesses have separate entrances. I'm guessing that it's a design trend these days. There is plenty of parking at this plaza. I wish that Chatime were open when I was there. I'll need to come back and check it out, along with the other stores. I'd return here for future antigen tests for travel. The report quality is perfect and it was $39. (429)

I've been patient here for a long while, around 13 years now. When I first started coming here,…read morethings were great. The doctor I had was caring, personable and very understanding. He left. Now, I have a doctor that laughs at me, doesn't seem to care what so ever and I can never get in to see! The office staff never answer the phone, you ALWAYS have to leave a message. They SAY they'll call you back within 24 hours but I've sometimes waited 3 days and they get angry if you go to a walk-in. I don't feel like the type of care is lacking too much but I don't feel listened to either.

The only issue I ever have, is that no matter how hard I try, the front desk people refuse to give me an appointment that isn't 3 months away. They always say to come register at 10am for an appointment as a walk in, then wait until either the doctor notices me there (he ALWAYS pulls me in immediately, if he sees me) or they make me wait until the end of the day. God forbid you give me a time and I can go to work for a few hours. Don't trust the front desk staff for anything that doesn't involve signing in. No matter how many times he tells them to make sure his patients can get appointments, they always go back to the same issue. How the hell do I know if I need to see the doctor 3 months from now? What if I'm sick next week or tomorrow? A month ago I spent 2 hours in the hospital to resolve something that should be a family doctor issue, but I can't get in, unfortunately. Overall the clinic has relationships with the physiotherapy place, cardio doctors and x-ray clinic all in the same plaza. One stop shopping!

There's a pharmacy attached and it leads right to a very new and shiny waiting room! When I came in there was no wait at all! I'm talking like 5 minutes tops! Doesn't get any quicker then that! Dr. Leung was very informative, friendly and professional! He even helped me get the best option and was honest on how ridiculous pricing is for meds. He seemed like he really knew his stuff. The pharmacist, Brent was super friendly as well! Making conversation and all that good stuff. Five stars for sure for this place! They are even having a female physician come on board in March so keep that in mind as well! Definitely recommend this place!

Then one of the receptionists asked us if we were using our phones and we both answered no. We had our phones out but not in use - we were not even looking at our phones at all. He's abrupt and has the worst bedside manner that I've ever encountered in a doctor. I come from a family of medical practitioners who are specialists in the practice of oncology and Pediatric pulmonology plus a slew of nurses and I know how stressful their job is but this dude is so unprofessional and dismissive. My family doctor just retired and we are just waiting for the patient file transfer to another doctor. I'm thinking it may just be better to go into the emergency room at any hospital compared to this doctor and clinic. I will give 0 star, unfortunately it doesn't have that option. The staff more than makes up for this doctor's bad manners though I don't think OHIP should be charged anything for this dreadful consultation - if you could even call it that.

We arrived at 8:15am and was told the complete procedure will take 2 hours, and we'll be out by 10:15am. The nurses were very accommodating of the fact my grandma does not speak English, and talked to me instead of everything my grandma had to do to prepare for her CT Scan. They even offered to modify the CT Scan machine so it gives instructions in Cantonese instead of English, which was certainly welcoming for my grandma as I wasn't allowed into the room during the operation. At the end, the procedure was completed at exactly 10:15am. Bonus points for perfect timing, and at the end it actually didn't seem that long of a wait. My only complaint was that the heat was on way too high for me when I was waiting, and I didn't want to take my jacket off as I didn't want to take a chair (it was a full lobby of patients waiting at that time).

I'm leaving this review because after submitting a formal complaint to the ER department, **no one…read moreever contacted me or addressed the issue**, which is unacceptable. I visited the ER on Oct 29 and 30, 2025, following a dog bite. During my first visit, a male triage staff member made an inappropriate comment after I briefly forgot to hand over my health card. Instead of simply asking for it, he said, "Aren't you forgetting something? Do you want me to call you Donald Trump?" Completely unprofessional and unnecessary. When I returned the next day as instructed by the ER doctor, my number was shown on the screen and then skipped without explanation. When I asked, the triage staff dismissed it and said maybe someone else called me--which did not happen. She eventually called me back and proceeded with triage, then told me I "could have gone to [my] family doctor," despite the fact that I was following the ER doctor's instructions to return for a tetanus shot. The same male triage staff member from the previous day again made inappropriate remarks. After taking my blood pressure, he questioned me for removing the pulse sensor and then told me, "Do you have your phone? You should call 911." It came across as sarcastic and mocking toward a patient already in distress. These repeated comments and the dismissive attitude reflect a serious lack of professionalism and empathy. And the fact that **no one from the ER responded to my original complaint** tells me this behavior might be ignored or normalized. I hope others take this into account when deciding where to seek emergency care.
