100% criminal Changed my health records. Altered them. 431 criminal code of canada . You cant alter records. To make it seem the patient is on the wrong medication to have a fall back when something goes wrong . If my script say 72mg dont put 18mg. Which would mean i have the wrong dose. This hospital did that on every medication. Then a internal medicine doctor told me i need antidepressants. So doctors can jump to psychologist just like that. Though that was illegal. Got no treatment. Tests for nothing then was released with Low and High markers on ny blood test without notification Cant imagine how anyone gets any treatment. Cant do anything right Broke 216 of the criminal code of canada also. Everyone has to start laying charges bc our healthcare is criminal . Its killing ppl not helping them. When your sick you cant help yourself and hospital take advantage of that. Ringing up tests to no end with no treatment or diagnosis. Just tests for profit.

The longest wait time is literally while you're on hold! So do call ahead to get COVID-19 tested!

This review is about the COVID-19 testing experience. I brought a family member to get tested because of a sore throat and the doctor recommended doing it just to be safe. From the whole experience, the longest wait time was when I called to make the appointment. Because of the rise of COVID-19 cases in Ontario lately (October 2020), you cannot get tested at a hospital unless you exhibit symptoms of COVID-19. So please, if you want to get tested, DO NOT walk-in, because you will be turned down. I was on hold for about 1.25 hours before I finally got through to the reception. They took down the patient's information and then you're off. There is no set scheduled time go, just anytime after you have made the appointment for the day and before the close for the day. I would encourage making the appointment early in the day so it gives you time to head to the hospital. When you arrive at the hospital, you could choose to pay for parking; or if you are dropping someone off, just loop around the hospital and come back to pick up the person. You can save a couple dollars by doing... so probably go to the nearest Timmy's or SBUX and get a coffee as you wait. We arrived just before 3pm, which was good, because the wait for check-in was not long... maybe max 15 minutes? But after 3pm, with children out of school, the line got looooonnnnngg, and I'm assuming the wait is probably looking at 30 minutes or so. The check-in location is outside, so if it rains, bring an umbrella! Once you have checked-in, you just have to wait to be called and they will swab you. I went to wait in the car after helping my family member check-in and within 5 minutes, my family member was walking to the car. That was quicker than expected! So yes, I understand trying to get tested is stressful. I would just say take the time while you are placed on hold during the phone or while you are standing in line waiting to check-in to practice breathing and meditation. Everything is going to be fine. :) Lastly, if you got tested, please quarantine yourself until you get your results!! Netflix is great for binging! ;) Haha!

I been to ER departments at a few hospitals in the GTA.(1) Markham Stouffville Hospital's ER is one of the best one I had been to. The staffs: doctors, nurses and the administrators are all really polite and courteous. The wait was never too long... and the waiting area is quite spacious and bright. Parking can be pricey, but the parking fees they collects are used as funding for the operations of the hospital. This location is really convenient too because it is the final stop of VIVA Hwy 7 and Rutherford Routes. That make it accessible even for people that relies on public transportions. (1) I was not at ER because I ate too much... I went with some family members

Sleep Clinic
Miss Lady ..

I used their Sleep Clinic at 377 Church Street. I went in at 8:30pm. They take you to your own individual room. There is no common room to maybe watch TV or have some tea before you're ready to sleep, and there's no TV in your room. You just stay in your room basically from the time you arrive until the time you leave unless you have to use the washroom or you are being hooked up to the wires or disconnected. I was hooked up to the wires around 9:30 p.m. The wires were not a lot. It felt like less than a heart Holter monitor. To my surprise the bed was more like a regular bed and less like a hospital bed. The Double bed was a cross between firm-soft-dense... not like a regular bed, and the blanket was very warm. The staff was okay and answered all my questions about sleep and snoring. The actual sleep was not 100% comfortable because you had to ensure you were close enough to the wires and machines not to get disconnected. It seemed kind of sensitive. She had to come in and press the wires a few times. Having to be aware of the wires and getting mixed up in all of them was a bit uncomfortable and made it harder to sleep. I brought my own pillow and even a teddy to make me feel like I was home. A few times in the night when I woke up, she asked me to change my sleep position, so that she could track how my breathing is - in different positions.... P.s. there is a camera in the room to keep an eye on you and to note your sleeping positions It's a good facility. I recommend it.

I love this hospital because the wait is not as long as other ones. They're usually pretty nice. Will be giving birth here next month.

Less nurses and less doctors, a lot more people visiting the hospital for a cold/flu than before there was Covid.

I have two experiences to share visiting this hospital. The first was going to emergency with my…read moredad. The second was more recent getting my mom here for an endoscopy appointment. This hospital used to be called Scarborough Grace. If I'm not mistaken, Scarborough Grace Hospital used to be owned by the Salvation Army. I'm guessing that Salvation Army relinquished whatever ownership agreement that it had. Its formal name is The Scarborough Hospital - Birchmount Campus. It's a part of the Scarborough Health Network, which comprises this hospital, Centenary on Ellesmere at Neilson, and General on Lawrence Avenue East at McCowan. My first visit was during Easter Sunday several years ago. I was roasting a turkey. My dad got a nose bleed. It didn't stop after twenty minutes. We were concerned. My car was fairly new. I drove him over to this hospital that was called Grace back then. My dad was extremely careful to not get blood in my new car. It didn't matter to me. That car had upholstery protection. We never got to fully check it out. We checked in to emergency triage. It helped that my dad had a nosebleed that didn't seem to stop. We got him in to a room fast. A doctor saw him. He had his nose packed with a long ribbon that looked painful. It did stop my dad's nosebleed. My dad and I are similar with nosebleeds. We need a humidifier to keep nosebleeds away. We learned a lot that day. We both haven't had a nosebleed event in years. Last Wednesday, we made it a family affair to get my mom to this hospital for her endoscopy appointment. I offered to drive my dad's car to get us all there. When you enter the parking lot, short-term parking is on the left. It's pricy. Long-term parking is more reasonable. The maximum rate is $20, which isn't horrible. I took a ticket from the machine. The gate arm came up. I backed into a spot. We all got out of the vehicle and headed over to the admitting side for outpatients. It felt less stressful. My dad felt at east having me, so he could focus on making sure my mom was okay. I found patient registration. We are all happy waiting there for a human until a female woman whisked us over to the patient check-in kiosks. I have a love-hate relationship with said kiosks. They work well if you fit the typical use case with no exceptions. I liked that I could scan my mom's health card. When I got to the end of this check-in process, I got an error that it couldn't check my mom in. That's the hate part. The same woman came over to try and whisk us back to the kiosks. I said that I did the check-in process and it didn't work. It said that I needed a human. She helped us. It turns out that my mom got a new health card with a different two-letter set at the end of her card number. This woman corrected it. She also put me down as an emergency contact. She was great helping us get to where we needed to be. When you walk into this hospital, you are automatically on the second floor. We needed to walk down the hallway, turn right, see the Outpatient sign, and turn right. The instructions were accurate. We got her to the endoscopy clinic. The woman there was extremely nice. I had to fill out a questionnaire on behalf of my mom. My dad was relieved that he didn't have to do it. It was a two-sider. My dad had brought a printout of my mom's medication, so that saved me some writing. The woman entered all information that we gave her. She then led us over to the endoscopy unit where we waited outside. It didn't take long for my mom to get called in. The unit was small. We got her changed into a gown and onto the bed. We put a blanket over her because gowns are thin and my mom gets cold easily. My dad stayed with her in the unit. I waited outside. They put her to sleep. Both my dad and I watched her get moved into a different room for the endoscopy. We both waited outside. We got there at noon. Her appointment was for 1:30 pm. She went in for her appointment at 1:40 pm. The time estimates were on track. We saw the nurses roll my mom back to the unit. She was hooked up to a vitals monitor. She was doing great. It took her a bit of time to wake up. She was in good spirits. Endoscopy results were immediate. Everything checked out fine. We were all pleased. My mom changed out of the gown and into her regular clothes. The nurses were great giving us a bag to store her clothing. The nurses were friendly and made our experience less stressful that it could have been. My dad didn't know how to get out from this ward. Thankfully, I am better with directions. Two lefts and we were headed out the door. I paid for parking in the lobby. My dad was fascinated by this payment kiosk. I paid with a credit card before he had a chance to pay. He asked how he could pay with cash. I showed him. By the time he had his answer, there were four people behind us. Oops! We walked to the car. I inserted my paid ticket to leave the lot. My mom got the best care here. (88)

My grandma had to come in here for a CT Scan today, and we exited this place with nothing but…read moresmiles. We arrived at 8:15am and was told the complete procedure will take 2 hours, and we'll be out by 10:15am. The nurses were very accommodating of the fact my grandma does not speak English, and talked to me instead of everything my grandma had to do to prepare for her CT Scan. They even offered to modify the CT Scan machine so it gives instructions in Cantonese instead of English, which was certainly welcoming for my grandma as I wasn't allowed into the room during the operation. At the end, the procedure was completed at exactly 10:15am. Bonus points for perfect timing, and at the end it actually didn't seem that long of a wait. My only complaint was that the heat was on way too high for me when I was waiting, and I didn't want to take my jacket off as I didn't want to take a chair (it was a full lobby of patients waiting at that time).

I'm leaving this review because after submitting a formal complaint to the ER department, **no one…read moreever contacted me or addressed the issue**, which is unacceptable. I visited the ER on Oct 29 and 30, 2025, following a dog bite. During my first visit, a male triage staff member made an inappropriate comment after I briefly forgot to hand over my health card. Instead of simply asking for it, he said, "Aren't you forgetting something? Do you want me to call you Donald Trump?" Completely unprofessional and unnecessary. When I returned the next day as instructed by the ER doctor, my number was shown on the screen and then skipped without explanation. When I asked, the triage staff dismissed it and said maybe someone else called me--which did not happen. She eventually called me back and proceeded with triage, then told me I "could have gone to [my] family doctor," despite the fact that I was following the ER doctor's instructions to return for a tetanus shot. The same male triage staff member from the previous day again made inappropriate remarks. After taking my blood pressure, he questioned me for removing the pulse sensor and then told me, "Do you have your phone? You should call 911." It came across as sarcastic and mocking toward a patient already in distress. These repeated comments and the dismissive attitude reflect a serious lack of professionalism and empathy. And the fact that **no one from the ER responded to my original complaint** tells me this behavior might be ignored or normalized. I hope others take this into account when deciding where to seek emergency care.
