The cafe itself is really relaxing with a great view. Its cozy in the winter, with a large outside area when the sun comes out. Staff are great and the place feels like a focal point in the town. Reviews always seem unbalanced/questionable without some form of criticism, but I can't be arsed trying to think of some small thing that wasn't a problem in the first place. Food is really good as it's freshly prepared, but be warned as you ay have to wait a little while for service as they are so busy. They serve breakfast until late morning and a huge selection of delicious homemade cakes pastries and scones which are impossible to resist, not to mention a whole range of sandwiches, wraps and panini - served with a light salad. We are traveling as a group of four, and my friend that made most of our plans had found this gem…read moreonline. Location is prime from the train station, which is 90% of our travel during our two week stay... The station is literally 2-5 minutes from the B&B by foot WITH luggage. Upon arrival, we were kindly greeted and assisted with our bags up to our rooms(we had two). Linens were of nice quality, and the room, bathroom and common areas were very clean and well kept. The view from our rooms is breathtaking... Ours were two rooms that are facing the harbor, so waterfront for such a reasonable price! There are plenty of electrical outlets, all functioning well(this should not be of such a great surprise, but we're learning that some hotels, even of high price range do not have fully functioning outlets... Either not fitting a US converter, or not physically getting juice to all the outlets). They even provided a nice full size hair dryer for us. Breakfast was delightful as well.. My friends all raved about the blood pudding, saying that after being in Ireland for a week, it's the best Irish Breakfast they have had yet. Iikr to take longer showers, and there was ALWAYS ampul hot water/great plumbing as well. We stayed over a Friday and Saturday, during the World Cup... Which is apparently VERY big. There is a small bar/pub about half a kilometer down the road from the B&B, and they were a little more loud than desired, but I really feel that it's due to the big World Cup games, and did not discount my rating of the B&B because of it.. The neighbors that were here and talked at breakfast said they didn't hear anything, nor did our friends that stayed immediately above us.. So again... I think this might be an isolated item to mention. The gentleman that does the serving and checks the common areas was just the sweetest, so kind and very excited to be of any assistance to help us during our stay. *Side note: we dropped off out laundry for washing in the morning, jumped on a train and realized that on a Saturday, we were not going to get back in time for the laundry cleaner to close, so we called the B&B and they were kind enough to walked the kilometer+ and picked up our clean laundry. Again, very sweet... And they communicated by email, which my friend also found most helpful. Can't beat the price or the view. We would stay here again, no doubt.
