I order a chicken and cheese quesadillas two of them tell me why when I get home there is no chicken on them but instead black beans why would I spend $50 to not even have my food right! And when I call to order the employee taking my order was so slow and uneducated it wasn't even funny.

We are Mexican and Tex Mex junkies. We came upon this place with a gps search and we're glad we did. Actually it didn't come up on the search, maybe to new, gps hasn't been updated in a while. Two other restaurants came up but both were closed. Lucky for us. Plenty of parking, the decor is fantastic, and the food is creative, fresh , and very good. If you are looking for standard fare Mexican food, large portions, heavy on the cheese this may not be your place. But I would encourage you to try it anyway. Our server was Christina, upbeat, helpful, attentive and not hoovering. Ann had a burrito that was delicious I had tacos very good. The sides put this place over the top to a 5 star review. I could make a meal of the Mexican rice and the refried beans. Not sure how they built such flavour into the refried beans but they were the best I have ever had and I have had many. Ann said the Margaritas were great. We sat in the booths that were built in and very comfortable we were eyeing the patio seating and will try that next visit, oh yes we will be back. Heads up if you want to have Christina to serve you make your stop evenings or weekends. We might see you there.

First of all I apologize for waiting so long to complete this review sometimes life gets in the way of life! My wife took me here on the evening of March 15th we did come a little late but were seated and attended to quickly. Upon arrival we found ample parking both in the lot and street side along NW 1st Ave. approaching from the corner in through the lot I noticed a two post stand with a menu and speaker on it, however I forgot to ask if they had a drive through of sorts although I did not see anything that would be such. The restaurant is situated in a former home that has been redone and transformed into a really nice and functional venue. Our drink chips and house salsa was brought out quickly and I requested a sample of their house salsa verde I was pleasingly impressed with it great flavor and ample heat with great body I could have drank a quart of it! The staff appeared quite knowledgeable of the menu as well as the cooking style of the chef of the kitchen. My Wife ordered the Brisket dinner special with the street corn and the Spanish rice she was very satisfied with her meal. Me on the other hand I ordered the Baja Shrimp Tacos with street corn and black beans. I felt that the tacos were great although I would like to have had a little cilantro in them the portion size was more than adequate though. The street corn is definitely the star of the show for me and the beans, the beans were basically beans dumped from a can with no soul and completely devoid of any passion for the greatness of what this simple staple of Tex-Mex cuisine is and can be. I talked with my server about the beans and she sent the owner herself to the table I was very impressed that she, Ellen, took the time to discuss my meal with me and offered to comp the entire bill I declined her offered I really enjoyed talking with her and I will return when it's not just before closing and the kitchen isn't in the wind down mode. Before leaving Ellen brought a complimentary dish to me to have at home Chicken Enchilada Suizas all I can say is OMG what a pleasant surprise absolutely amazing so full of flavor and happiness this will definitely be a target in my next visit. I gave them five stars, yes I was disappointed with my black beans however with the direct customer support from the not only the wait staff but the owner herself and especially the gift of the Chicken Enchilada Suizas showed me that this place has so much more to offer than what one would gather from a simple visit for a late meal. I will certainly return and I hope that y'all will give them a try as well. Be sure and try the salsa verde and take a moment to speak with Ellen if she is available she's a great owner and very involved.

Rice is dry taco is laughable for the price.

The tacos are pretty good. The rice is a little bit dry. Other than that it was good food.

Keep Austin weird!…read more Oh wait, we're in Gainesville. Been years and years since I've been in the south. I loved going to Austin Chuys for the food, drinks, and chips on Friday nights. What great energy! When we happened by this Gainesville location I knew we had to stop in. It still has a great vibe, now with T-shirts of fajita raccoons for sale up front. There was definitely a family vibe here. It was better lit and all types of folks enjoying. I ordered the steak and chicken combo fajitas. I remembered it was the cheapest way to get the most meat. That hasn't changed. Two portions of meat came out on the sizzling platter, with another for cheese, guacamole, and sour cream. Another plate for rice and beans. And t Yet another for the hot tortillas made fresh in the machine. We also got the chicken tacos, which came on an attractive plate. The chicken tortilla soup was well received too. But the best thing was unlimited fresh chips. They brought it out before even saying hi and taking drink orders, to maximize our grazing time. As we comped away dipping in the fresh house made salsa, they kept bringing out more. My jaws are sore from so much chewing!

The correct address from Google Maps is the same street number, 15070 US-301, but in Starke, which is 11 miles north of the Waldo address. We arrived around 3:30 on a Saturday, aware that their listed closing time is 5:30, but willing to give it a try. There were quite a few meats and sides scratched off the board - it's necessary to plan a day's cook conservatively so there is less waste at the end of each day. It can't be easy to put so many choices on the board with the tight margins restaurants work with. But there were still several things I wanted to try. I got a 2 meat platter with lamb chops and sliced pork with green beans and brussel sprouts for sides. The wife got a pulled pork sandwich and waffle fries. The soda machines were all out, but the teas and lemonades were just fine for us. The portions were really generous. And the meats were all really good. Lamb chops (3) were fork tender. Pork slices (4) needed a knife, but I was expecting that. Her sandwich was easily 1/3 to 1/2 lb of meat. Really tasty. And the sides - green beans were well done and flavorful - southern style obviously. The brussel sprouts were very nicely crisped with a sweet dressing on them. Really good. And the fries were properly GBD. Two sauces - a pretty sweet mustard sauce and a tangy red - maybe half way between Kansas sweet and Carolina vinegar. Both really good, but none of the meats really required sauce. Looking at other reviews it seems they change up the menu pretty often. But I'd definitely stop back in, maybe earlier in the day, to see how the brisket tastes. Or just to see what the choices are for that day. Everything we tried was great, so I'd be willing to try whatever else they offer.

The staff behind the counter kept things moving and still took time to answer questions about the different meats. The brisket was tender with a good smoky flavor that didn't need much sauce. The meat plate came with generous portions, and everything tasted freshly made instead of sitting around too long. Food came out faster than expected considering how many people were there around lunch. The whole place had a laid back small town feel where everyone seemed comfortable hanging around for a while after eating.
