Rob & Linda Hart, who run the Inn & Coventry Gardens, are amazing! They were so sweet & welcoming & they made us feel right at home! The Old Town Mercantile that's inside the Inn offers a wide variety of neat gifts including some really cool vintage items. As gorgeous as the grounds are during the day you have to see them at night when their decorative lights are on. We stayed in The Blue Room & it was spacious & beautiful. Everything was clean & well stocked. With a view of the grounds & Coventry Gardens from several of the many windows & the large private bathroom with a tub & handheld shower, staying here was a real pleasure! But, the REAL treat was Linda's cooking! Oh my goodness! Her food was so amazing! We had dinner & breakfast there & both meals we beyond delicious! We will definitely be going back! We had no complaints about the room. The breakfast setup was a pleasant surprise. Instead of the usual hotel breakfast, we received a voucher for a restaurant in essentially the same parking lot. We ordered the breakfast we'd normally get at a restaurant, added a few extras, and paid only about $5 after using the voucher. We could have had breakfast at no additional cost if we'd kept it simpler. There are gas stations and other restaurants nearby, too. It was a comfortable, convenient stop, and we'd happily stay again.

The park was why we were there. We stayed for 5 nights. They don't even begin serving breakfast until 8:30 am. You won't get out of there until an hour later. It puts a serious dent in plans to get out and hike in the park. The first morning of our stay, breakfast was one piece of rye bread, spead with hummus and two over-easy eggs on top. Nothing else. What other surprises awaited? For the rest of our stay, we did not hang around in the morning to find out. Paid for breakfast at Lola's down the road instead. That was really good. Also - the place is lacking some motel room type amenities that you would otherwise expect to find, especially when your guests are National Park hikers. No in-room fridge or coffee maker. Housekeeping visited once during our stay. Not a bad alternative for park visitors, but little understanding and attention is being paid to the needs of their clientele.

Little kitchen, small dining area and back door with a patio table surrounded by beautiful redwoods! The pictures online do this cute little place no favors!!!! Would definitely stay here again (all while I haven't actually slept here yet ) we also walked down to Martha's Kitchen and not only was the food DELICIOUS the waitress was also so sweet and attentive! We might have just found the sweetest little place to land while we're here for a wedding. ****edit to add after sleeping there 2 nights, the main road is semi close so obviously you'll hear some car sounds. Mostly in the early morning. They do provide ear plugs I didn't use them and after the first night it didn't really bother me much. As do be expected with that main road there. As a Type A over-planner, I was determined not to let that happen. But the moment we arrived at Twenty Mile House, I realized I didn't have to be the control freak I usually am. The TMH team handled every detail with such calm professionalism that I was able to relax and truly enjoy the experience. From the very beginning, we were impressed. Our virtual tour with Rachel made us fall in love with the venue; Kevin and Karen worked with us to make our budget work, Joe gave us a wonderful tour when we returned after booking; and Ashleigh patiently answered all of my questions--no matter how late I sent them. The venue itself feels like something out of a storybook. Every one of our guests raved about the beautiful setting, the accommodations, the incredible staff, the ceremony site, and even the fact that there wasn't a restrictive noise ordinance. Everything exceeded our expectations. Not a day has gone by since our wedding that I haven't said, "I wish I could do it all over again." I have waited 16 years to finally get married and was given the green light from my fiance to have the wedding of my dreams. I searched forest wedding and Twenty Mile House was the very first one that came up. I loved that it wasn't too far of a drive away, the all inclusive packages and the accomodation option to stay on site for me and 53 of our guests. We had compared prices to similar venues but found it ridiculous that for the same price, we would only have the venue, tables and chairs at the other places. So with that, Twenty Mile House became the winner. We absolutely loved the vintage cozy look of the homes, the miles and miles of forestation leading up to and within the venue, and the most amazing staff i have ever experienced with. Both Rachel and Ashliegh were absolutely amazing! They both listened and made all of my requests come true. Some had to be compromised, but it didn't change much of my vision. Our bartender Jasper was absolutely amazing and so kind. The lights, the vibe, the music, all of the vendors... they all worked together like a well oiled machine and made every wedding planning moment up to the wedding day absolutely perfect. I'm a chill bride and solely trusted the vendors and Ashliegh on their skills and talent. I'd be lying if I wasn't nervous at times, but said yes when they said "trust us". They absolutely delivered! The cake was exactly how I'd envisioned it and was so delicious, the food was a huge hit for my husband and I and our guests (I wanted to takr home the meatballs and freeze them), the DJ was perfection, the florals were immaculate (more than what i had expected), and the photographer Rachelle was sooo kind and made our little awkward selves so comfortable. We had hired a non preferred videographer for our day but both Rachelle and Ashliegh worked well with them. Thank you Twenty Mile House for making our dream wedding a reality! Breakfast was a nice surprise, not the bagels and muffin type but real food breakfast. Overall, an amazing stay as we explored Lake Almanor and hiked Lassen peak.
