If my window was open to make it slightly more bearable, it was SO LOUD i couldn't remotely sleep. People would sit outside and literally scream, talk, and play music until about 3am, and the bus stop right outside my window meant I could hear it stopping and moving again all night long if my window was open (so my options were sweat to death or be kept awake with noise) -Laundry machines are so expensive and do a horrendous job at washing clothes. It requires a laundry card which they were out of for 3 days when I wanted to do my laundry (and the front desk clarified that yes, that meant it was impossible for me to do laundry) -Brochure on the desk says that towels will be changed every other day, and I'm lucky if I get a new towel once a week. -Bathrooms smell horrendous to the point that walking past it makes me sick. Water pressure in the showers were sometimes so bad that it would take 30 minutes to get washed -No sheets provided on the bed- only one GIANT comforter so it was basically nothing or a blanket for the Arctic which was just strange -The elevator walls were covered in these weird, creepy paper strips that started falling off at one point- was a little bit worrisome!!! -At the break between session 1 and 2, the maids came and threw away everyone's food in the kitchen with NO WARNING as if nobody was staying more than one session. I lost brand new packages of rice and pasta, seasoning, etc. (about 15 pounds of stuff) At least staying here was relatively cheap, but if I ever came back to LSE, I would definitely pay more to stay somewhere else and be able get a little sleep.

I would have given this hostel 3 stars, but the breakfast is worth an additional star. I was really surprised they offered such a complete breakfast, and they will even give you a paper bag to take items to go =D.

Bike storage is located next to the trash area behind the building (you walk in the front lobby, go straight back to the door on the right.) Don't forget your keycard, or you could be locked out! There is usually 1-2 people sitting at the front desk. Woburn Place is located close to 3 tube stations: about 4 minutes from the Russell Square Station, 10 minutes from the Euston Station, and 10 minutes from the Goodge Street Station. Woburn Place is a 6-minute walk to SOAS and the University of London. It's also a 5 minute walk from the Brunswick Centre.

A great deal of emphasis is placed on building a strong community within the college, and there are numerous events which showcase the various home territories of the residents, as well as sports and social clubs where you can meet other members. The admission process is continuous, so it is possible to apply at any point during the year, but the majority of changeover occurs in September and October, at the beginning of the academic year. Admission is decided using strict academic and social criteria, with the emphasis being on admitting the most community spirited individuals, who will hold up the traditions of the college. There are a limited number of places available to couples and families, who live in apartments, whereas the majority of students are allocated single rooms. Both apartments and rooms are usually spacious and comfortable with good study facilities easily available. I would recommend Goodenough College to anyone who is very social and studying for a postgraduate qualification, it is fantastic.

If you're looking for a quiet, calm place to live whilst you do your postgraduate studies in London, I would strongly urge you to think twice before committing to Goodenough College. Before arrival: Goodenough College administration lost/was unable to locate important forms I submitted (per their instructions). This resulted in lots of wasted, chaotic time once I arrived. After arrival: Noise noise noise. The noise in William Goodenough House was, for me, completely oppressive. To elaborate - 1) The insulation is extremely poor in the building so you CONSTANTLY hear the plumbing (taps running, etc) and/or your upstairs neighbours plodding about. 2) Members with small children were mind bogglingly disrespectful, letting their kids run up and down the corridors like it's recess outside or letting them ride Razor scooters inside at 7.30AM en route to school. 3) Adults regularly have loud, drunken conversations in corridors at all hours of the night (weeknights and weekends). 4) False fire alarms go off allllll the time, from 2 in the afternoon to 3 in the morning. Also, the WiFi is so, so, so slow. This dial-up level of internet speed was in 2016 after Goodenough's hugely-touted 'system upgrades'. To be clear, after their 'upgrades' I could not carry on a Skype call or download papers from JSTOR due to the slow internet. Cosmetically the building is okay (but there are cracked mirrors in the lifts, quite a bit of damp in the basements, etc). The location is fine (central enough, but numerous muggings near Coram's Fields so be aware). The rooms, and their mattresses, are a bit tired (old beds, scuffs and nicks galore all over your flat). Take caution unless you're ready for a dorm-like experience 24/7.

The location is perfectly situated because it's close to the tube stops and you can take the Uber Boat anywhere in minutes. My flat came with a washer/dryer combo (which took some getting used to) and the full kitchen setup was nice. There was plenty of closet space, storage space, and the beautiful balcony views were my fav. Housekeeping came by once a week and they were just okay. I still felt the need to have my own cleaning supplies for when things were missed but they were always friendly and respectful. I felt very safe living here, walking around the area and the one time I noticed a domestic disturbance in front of the hotel, the staff checked it out immediately. I'd highly recommend staying here whether on the hotel side or corporate housing side.
