First off let me start by saying that I had to really think about whether I was going to review my…read moretherapist. Who really wants to admit that they need someone to talk to about some issue or concern; or for my situation a lot of issues and a lot of concerns. Everyone is a little broken...it's how you glue everything back together that makes you who you are today. Sometimes you need to fix the fix to really heal or cope. Dr. Ryan came recommended to by another therapist of a close friend of mine. I called and made an appointment and have been seeing Dr. Ryan off and on for almost 3 years. Never having been to a therapist I didn't know what to expect. I mean I watched the Sopranos, and every other stereotypical show about "shrinks" so I already had some preconceived notions about therapy. All were shattered by Dr. Ryan. He's a very calm, soft spoken personable individual. He doesn't push you to come out of your shell, but at the same time he holds you accountable for what you are there for. He's easy to talk to and very insightful. I even had homework which aided me in developing certain skills. I can honestly say that the relationship I have with Brit (some of you have met my ever present +1) is stronger and more fulfilling because of the sessions I've had with Doc. He's helped me become a better communicator and has aided me in understanding what are rational and irrational feelings and more so how to convey that to someone when I didn't start out with the appropriate vocabulary to express my feelings or thoughts.

I looked for about half of my life to find a psychiatrist with the knowledge, intellectual and…read moreemotional capacity that Dr. Vas possesses. He listens to me and sees me as a person instead of just a list of symptoms to be medicated away. Amy Kline provides an outstanding compliment to Dr. Vas. If you could describe someone as loving and professional, that would be Amy Kline. I've been going to this practice for about three years now, and I feel lucky to have found it. Also, the administration/office issues have been resolved for a long time.

My concerns are with the administrative and billing side of the practice. When I initially became a client of WCP, I initially received needed testing. Later, I needed documentation completed and was informed that I would need to schedule a meeting with my provider to complete the required form. Upon entering that appointment, I was informed about a newer, more updated assessment that the office now uses. I was highly encouraged and offered the option to take that additional test at a discounted rate, since I had already completed the prior version. I agreed and completed the assessment that day and paid the amount, which meant the original purpose of the appointment (completing the form) was not addressed. The following day, I had a second appointment to complete the form via telehealth, during which we went through it together and I answered the necessary questions. After the form was ready for pickup, I was informed of additional charges for both visits, each, that had not been communicated beforehand. While I understand the charge for the appointment where the form was completed, I was surprised by the additional charge for the first visit, where the only activity was being offered and completing another assessment. When I sought clarification, the interaction became unprofessional and dismissive, which was disappointing. Julie then got extremely unprofessional with me in a heated back and forth discussion and asked me "Aren't you about to become an attorney?" Very Unprofessional. Since I am CURRENTLY a lawyer, I will be fighting against this charge. Julie, you need to do better as a professional and as a person. Overall, my concern is with the lack of transparency around billing and the professionalism in handling the discussion around it. I hope the office can improve clarity and communication going forward.
