Texted my plumber, and he doesn't unclog drains, so he gave me the number for Daniel at All Purpose. 12/8 Called Daniel, who came out that day. He was friendly and polite, spent around 40 minutes in my basement, and I paid $138.00 for the service of unclogging the drain. Seemed reasonable to me. 12/10 Did a small load of laundry and the same thing happened. Texted Daniel. No response. He'd mentioned how swamped he was, so I figured he was simply busy and would get back to me when he could. 12/14 Having waited through the weekend plus a couple of grace days, I called Daniel and left a message. No response. 12/17 Called again. Daniel answered, said he was swamped and couldn't get to me until the following Monday or Tuesday, but he was on the highway and said he'd let me know when he could look at his schedule. He didn't call back. 12/21 The holidays are fast approaching, and I'm now hand-washing my clothes. Called Daniel again and left yet another message. No response. 12/22 It's now been two weeks of waiting, so I gave up and called another company. They came out that day and fixed my problem--a pipe that was almost completely blocked by tree roots (there are photos and video of this). They said it was fortunate that I didn't end up with a flooded basement, and they couldn't understand why All Purpose wouldn't have come at the problem from outside. 12/22 Called Daniel yet again and told him I wanted a refund. He seemed exasperated and told me I was calling his private cell number. (How would I have known that? It's the number my plumber gave me. Why not say something before? And seriously? *He's* annoyed with *me*?! Sheesh...) I got annoyed right back. Then he told me he'll refund my money and to never call him again. 1/5 As of today, I still haven't gotten my money back. Needless to say, I strongly advise against using this company. I think they're probably okay as long as nothing goes wrong ... or they're not too busy or whatever. But in my case, they didn't stand behind their work, didn't call me back after they took my money, and now won't give me the refund I was promised.

He was very polite and respectful while in my home, even wearing protective shoe covers. He arrived at 8:00am as scheduled and spent 2 hours completing a "Home Diagnostic Inspection" which included examining all my hot water heaters and ALL plumbing fixtures throughout my home which I was not expecting. He then presented me with a service plan at $60 per month for a maintenance plan which gave me a discount on future services (10%) and a 50% discount on the service call fee of $119.00. He also gave me a bid on replacement cost for several faucets which I felt was a little bit higher than I was willing to pay. He said I could buy my own parts but the installation charge would be higher. I told him "Thank you but no thank you". He gave me a bid for the removal and installation of the 'Insinkerator' instant hot water dispenser that I had already purchased. The bid was extremely higher than I ever expected! But, the technician was here and I wanted it done, however I only elected to have ONE faucet replaced which made the price go up! Long story short, I was charged $815.36 for the installation which took One Hour and Fifteen minutes (I provided the part). In addition to this, I was charged $119.00 for the service call fee! I paid a total of $934.36 and 2/3 of the time he was here was spent on trying to sell me a service plan for my plumbing, H-Vac system as well as my electrical needs for $60 A MONTH! Then, you get a whopping 10% discount on the service call fee! I calculated that this service call was $12.47 per minute! I contacted the company customer service representative to talk about what I thought was an extremely high charge and all she could offer was that they have to pay for gas, tools and expenses! She also reminded me that I signed and agreed to the bid (she told me this 5 times). I told her I DID agree that that was their bid and I paid it! I did not agree that it was a fair price but I did not want to confront the young technician. I called HER to discuss the issue, to see if she thought that $934.36 for 1 hour and 15 minutes labor was fair. She did! Call this company if you have money to burn but you will get your work done politely.

I hired Tope Plumbing, and within about 15 minutes they located an outdoor cleanout roughly 5 feet from where Gateway had been working. Almost $800 with no resolution vs. $305 to Tope to actually find the access point and fix the problem. Stay away from Gateway. Hire them if you want to blow your money on labor and inspection charges for nothing to get done. Keep in mind these guys tried convincing me I needed to excavate 9 feet of dirt to find the outdoor access line, Tope found it in 15 min. Can you imagine if I didn't get a second opinion and spent thousands excavating for nothing? The picture attached shows their "findings." Jim was the one who told me the excavation needed to happen. The first time out they were phenomenal. They checked ALL my drains and cleared the issue for us so quick. Their prices are fair for the area. We had a cap stuck in the drain, but we hadn't had issues with it draining yet, so we left it at the time. We asked him to do a rough estimate for pricing to get it out just in case, and on his way he went. Turns out, when he was snaking the drains, he had actually wedged the cap further down to which it blocked the sewer line from the toilet and shower, and created a seal. This was our fault since we didn't mention it to him though. We tried a few times to get it out with an electric snake, but couldn't, so called these guys to come formally quote and cut the pipe for us. Then, ghosted. Called, emailed. Never heard back.
