We had just bought a house less than two months prior and had plumbing back into our house three weeks in. We called Roto-Rooter who "fixed" the issue temporarily. They sent a less experienced plumber out first who could not pinpoint the issue and the "experienced" one the next day was unable to find the sewer cleanout and had to run a smaller blade through the pipe to create a quick fix. When it backed up into our house again three weeks later, we called Bies and Joe came the next day. He found TWO cleanouts in our yard, broke up all of the debris at our connection to the city main, and showed us live footage of said debris getting pushed through. He did everything Roto-Rooter couldn't do in half the trips and half the time of one Roto-Rooter trip. Joe was fantastic to work with, fixing our problem with expertise while offering several helpful tips for the future. I called Beis about a hot water leak from a tank they installed a few years ago. It was a worthless $165 visit that ended with a dismissive call from their service manager. Vance, who I am told is a service manger with Beis, was immediately defensive and dismissive when 1) Learning his technician said the hot water expansion tank was out of code before learning Beis themselves installed it and me providing him this feedback and 2) Getting feedback that a $165 service charge is a lot for a technician to spend 25 minutes at my home to tell me my T&P valve was set off (which I informed them was the reason I called to begin with). I would not at all recommend using Beis for any service issues whatsoever as you're going to be met with a dismissal of any concerns or feedback immediately. read more

Had Beis out to snake my floor drain and clear the clogs that were causing a backup every time I ran the washing machine. I was charged $339 which was far more expensive than competitors and told it was totally clear with absolutely no chance of an issue. A few days later when I ran the laundry for the first time post cleanout, the exact same issue happened. If anything the backup was worse. I immediately called Beis, only to be told after the fact, that my floor drain wasn't snaked at all, only the laundry standpipe and that they don't guarantee work on drain cleanouts anyway. I spoke to the service manager Joe to understand if they really didn't care that their service did zero to help with the problem after paying such a high cost. They explained, in no uncertain terms, I would have to pay the same price or potentially more to have them come out and actually fix the problem since they do not guarantee any of their work. They pointed out their lack of guarantee in the fine print in their estimate agreement, which I have attached in the photos for other customers to be more aware of in the future. There are plenty of other companies in St. Louis that guarantee their work fully, so I called another one of them and will be paying over $100 less to get it fixed correctly this time with a full guarantee. We had a running toilet in a condo we own. Beis came out, after we had to take pictures of the toilet, and said we should replace toilet. I said it's only running, can't you just replace the valve or flapper? They said toilet should be replaced, so we agreed to it. Then, less than a year later it leaks around the base. They came out and re-set the toilet at a cost to us. Then, 7 months later, it's leaking again and the ceiling in the room below has water damage. Called Beis and they said Vince, the Svc Mgr would call me regarding this. Never called. Called back a couple more times. It's been two weeks and no call. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK!!! I asked if they would fix their work if they realized it was the same issue and not fixed correctly the first time and the service manager Vance hung up on me. Their work does not last for long and they obviously do not care about their quality of work and their customers. If Beis causes damage to your home and admits it was their fault, they will NOT fix it. I would not recommend Beis to anyone. While replacing my water heater, Kyle ran a wrong water line which caused water damage to my ceiling. It took weeks of chasing them down to have a call back from manager Vance and often was told Vance would call back when he ended up not calling back. In the end they refused to repair or fix the damaged ceiling, which they admitted multiple times that they caused the damage and phone operators told me 'if we caused the damage, we will fix it.' They had every opportunity to make things right and failed every single time. This was an easy fix and a chance to win back a customer. I would recommend not working with them. Completely unprofessional. The precedent Beis set is that they can cause damage to your home, admit it's their fault, and still NOT fix it. DO NOT USE THIS PLUMBER! We called for an estimate to tighten a loose faucet on our bathroom sink, Gabe came out to the house to evaluate. The faucet was minimally loose, NOT LEAKING AT ALL, STILL IN PERFECTLY USABLE CONDITION BEFORE GABE ARRIVED. GABE BROKE THE FAUCET AND LEFT IT COMPLETELY USELESS, with water running down the sink, pipes, and walls!!! His solution was for us to put a bucket under the pipes, which HE PLACES HIMSELF! Under a pipe with NO LEAK PRIOR TO HIS ARRIVAL!!! He denied any previous water damage done to the floors or walls and said it was NOT leaking before he tried to tighten it. Now my hardwood floors are ruined, my walls are ruined, and I'm left with a bucket under my sink. And a USELESS SINK!!! The company denies any responsibility and to top it off, added $400 to the quote to come back to fix what they broke after already paying Gabe $100.00 to BREAK IT! When a plumber's solution is to put a bucket under what they BROKE... charge you... then up the quote to fix what they damaged it's absurd!! Definitely reporting to BBB and my attorney! We came home last night from a trip and realized that our hot water heater was dead. It was originally installed in 2005. We called Beis first thing this AM and they were out to replace it not too long afterwards. Sarah at Beis was very responsive, professional, and displayed excellent customer service. Eric K. did the work. He replaced the old water heater and brought our system up to current code. He was also very professional and courteous, and did not appear to be rushing through the install of the new water heater. We greatly appreciated him explaining the issues he found with our system. When he was done, he explained everything to us, cleaned up the area and then talked to us about yearly maintenance and warranty information. Absolutely outstanding service. called beis to report a hot water flow problem with my kitchen sink. I stated that I thought the problem was with the turn off valve. The man came out and stated that the problem was a defunct faucet and I needed a new faucet. I ordered a new faucet and installed it. This did not correct the problem. I called beis and told them that the problem was misdiagnosed and probably I was correct in my judgement of a problem with the turn off valve. They stated that they could make another call and the expense of another visit. My theory was that they should have not charged another visit but to check out the valve. I then called another technician, paid a service charge and he fixed it in less than five minutes. The problem was the shut off valve. He turned the shut off valve full and then back it off and guess what viola I had full hot water flowing from the faucet. So for a few hundred dollars I paid two service visits, bought a new faucet, which was not the problem as diagnosed by beis, I did not get satisfaction for calling beis several times to rectify their misdiagnosis. STAY AWAY!!! I hired Beis Plumbing to fix a stopped drain somewhere between our kitchen sink and the main sewer. They sent Lequan out to run a camera from the clean out in the main stack. He ran it down to the main sewer and found nothing. They charged us $329.00 and accomplished nothing. I then realized that Lequan should have run the camera from a different clean out - the one where the kitchen drains. I sent photos, messages, etc. to Beis. I got nothing back. I was finally referred to someone whose name I forget who was no help. Then to someone named "Vance" and I got another estimate to actually do the job! I didn't care to speak to Vance, at this point I wanted to speak to the owner, "Charlie" about some consideration for the earlier charge. This is the EXACT message I got back from Beis: "Charlie does not take calls from customers. This is why he has managers in place to help him run our company. He is aware of this job and has spoken with Vance and myself about this. They will have the same responses. " Can you imagine? An owner who won't talk to a customer. Hmmm. What's he afraid of? Then, they had the big brass ones to send me an estimate for $398.00 to actually do the drain cleaning, again with no consideration for the earlier charge. TLDR: 30 minute repair that required no parts and was charged $265. When asked for itemized bill with any service fees/hourly rates, they said they do "task-based pricing" so there's nothing to itemize. Got a call from a tenant that the shower wasn't getting very hot. The plumber I had used for years had recently retired, and I have used Hoffman Brothers in the past (and they do great work), but I wanted to find a smaller business to support. I had actually used Beis at my mom's house several years ago, so I figured I'd try them. They were able to send someone right over to take a look which was great! Employee was excellent and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem which was that the valve was set such that not much hot water could get through (probably to prevent scalding). One little turn and problem solved: No parts were needed (the valve/cartridge was less than 6 months old) and it all took less than 30 minutes to diagnose and fix. All in all I was extremely happy with the service I received and given that I own several multi-family buildings, I figured I had found a great new plumber. That is, until I got a bill for $265. I asked them for an itemized bill because surely it was a misunderstanding since it hadn't taken long and no parts were used. (Let me be clear: I have hired MANY trades to do repairs in my buildings and have a good understanding of what things cost. I very rarely am shocked by invoices. I expected this one to be under $200.). They informed me that they don't have service charges or hourly prices; It's "task based pricing" which means basically whatever they make up I guess? On top of this, I was not even told how much this repair would be prior to the work being done. If I had known they were going to gouge me, I would have politely declined. Anyway, it sounds like other folks have great experiences with them, but sadly I can't say the same. This is a very poor company with incompetent plumbers and supervisors and management. We performed a full home renovation and they made errors on almost everything they touched and made nothing but excuses and refused to correct or couldn't. Their own plumbers critiqued each other's workmanship. It became comical. They installed 2 toilets incorrectly, wouldn't connect appliance waterlines, caulked a tub very poorly and an inch out of square, installed a toilet in wrong bathroom, instructed us to order wrong fixtures, plumber sinks for wrong fixturing and made us order new ones, installed a shower fixture upside down. They would show up unannounced and blame their office scheduler. Just a nightmare supplier that we paid in full to rid of and hired a local company to finish their errors. They just shook their heads at the craftsmanship. Nobody we dealt with at any level appeared to care and have a very internal focus where the customer is the inconvenience. read more

I called for service for my senior mother house. They scheduled the service for the next day. A nice young gentleman came inspected the problem which was a leaking shut off valve. He diagnose the problem and gave us a solution. We went ahead with the work. Cost was $264 and the leak was all fixed. Later in the day I got a follow up call to make sure our problem was solved and service was satisfactory. I appreciate the follow up call. Many companies don't do that these days. read more

I had an exterior faucet that had frozen over the winter resulting in a hole in the pipe. Unfortunately, the previous owners drywalled over the shut off valve for that faucet so we could not turn it off. When we went to turn it on, it resulted in water in our basement. Beis Plumbing was able to get us on the schedule quickly. Every person I interacted with was friendly and professional. The plumber who did the work was efficient and so patient with my million questions. He found the shut off valve in the ceiling and gave advise on how to repair the drywall to still allow access to it. I paid nearly $1300 for the "plumber" to solder in an elbow and put a ball valve in. I was fine paying a premium price but got amateur service. The "plumber" left my house without completing the service, he didn't connect the grounding wire that was previously there because he was "running behind". I contacted the company the next day to let them know about the issue and the leak that was present and they were unable to come by "after hours" which was 4pm for them to complete the job. They wanted me to take time off work so they could finish the job, oh and by the way they left my house in an unsafe condition, I'm assuming the electrical grounding wire is a safety issue,right? read more

These people are rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. My Parent's neighbor was needing a new water line installed, and they had an easement for our property. No problem, we were very nice, provided them with refreshments, and ice cold water. However, this company completely DESTROYED my parents property, and refuses to clean up their mess. The entire gravel road my parents put in is now completely impassable and a huge mud pit thanks to Beis Plumbing. While contacting them, asking them what they can do to repair the driveway we were met with much hostility, and disrespect. Called again and sent him out to my rental property. 2.5 hr job included drive time to Home Depot. It was a small job in kitchen. Charged over a $1000. Charged me for 2 men for 2.5 hours each when job was so small only one man could work in confided area. The topper was even though he was charging me for two men, they did not have proper stuff and had to go to Home Depot and get $10 worth of product and charged me for 2 men for the half an hour. Was really disappointed in Beis Plumbing, I called and made an appointment for a Friday service call. I explained to the receptionist that I needed my faucets in my master bathroom vanity replaced and that I was replacing them with the exact same type and brand of faucets. She said know problem we would get someone out to do the work and it shouldn't take them long to do the job. My wife stayed home all day and at 1 pm my wife called to see if she could get a time of when the Plummer May show up and was told he was finishing up a job and would be out in a little while to do the job. He showed up at 2:20 pm. He walked in and looked at the vanity and my wife went over what work we needed done. The Plummer said he had another job after us and that this would take too long so he had to go call his boss. He said that the receptionist told him it was a simple job and the receptionist told him he only had to replace a spout on the tub. (Which is NOT what was said to her). He said I have to leave but I can come back Monday even though my wife stayed home all day waiting for him. I can't say anything about their workmanship because they did none!!!
