Very unhappy with the lack of ethics and quality of grooming from this salon. The owner is rude, abrasive and lacks the business understanding of the customer interaction. A fee is charged if you are late (which I never am), a fee is charged if you do not groom the dog before bringing it to be groomed by her shop, a fee is charged when you are in the hospital if you missed an appointment, and the pet is groomed to her liking to make her job easier even though she over charges you for inadequate work. I have groomed my dogs weekly for years and the most I have been charged for both dogs is $80. My dogs look the worse they have ever looked and I have been charged almost $300 to groom 2 small dogs. Rip off salon, poor customer care and terrible grooming. read more

I have always been perfectly happy with Elite, Candice has been doing my Diego since he was young and he is now a 15 year old, sometimes grumpy with his face, but Candice does a great job. I am frankly surprised by a few bad reviews, (everyone has their own experience) but in my book she is great. When she owned the business on the street, of course she would have to start charging for no shows, late arrivals and pick up. I found if I called ahead and let her know something happened, then she was most understanding, But I never abused that. It is a business, and she was usually booked solid, so that is lost revenue for lost time. I usually got charged for some matting, even if I thought it wasn't bad, it still is time. My Diego always came out looking smart and handsome. read more

We regularly have our 90 lb golden retreiver groomed, and thought to try them again, as they had done a great job with our other dog. They were overbooked, and kept him almost 6 hours. When we picked him up, to cover for their tardy grooming, they chastised us that our dog's undercoat was matted. It had only been a month since his last groom and he was brushed regularly. Then when we got him in the car, we found his nails hadn't been trimmed and the cotton balls not removed from his ears. As you will see from other reviews, if you have a dog that is under 20 pounds, you may have more luck. Also, as a general rule never take your dog there on a Saturday. read more

It's been far too long and I feel guilty for not updating this review a long time ago. Upon contacting the groomer and notifying her that our dog's paw had been clipped, she did say that she remembered it happening and was very sorry that she failed to tell us. She was apologetic and DID OFFER to pay the vet bill. While my wife and I do appreciate the bill being covered, we have not been back since (so no change in my star rating). First impressions are big, and I would be more likely to go back to a restaurant that gave me food poisoning before I would take a risk with my dog. read more

I have taken my pup here a couple times before with a result of a decent cut (and typically friendly staff), however, yesterday afternoon I brought her in and today I noticed many marks on her underbelly (bruises from maybe holding her down and what looks like could a burn from a hot/overheated trimmer). I would have appreciated honesty when I picked her up and to hear about how her grooming appointment went (if there were difficulties or mistakes, etc.). I am disappointed because above of all, I want to make sure that my pup is treated well by groomers. read more

I highly recommend Candice and her team at Elite! I have a retired CH. Bedlington Terrier which is one of the most difficult breeds to groom. I normally take him to one of two Salons in Seattle to be groomed. Living in Tacoma when grooming day rolls around I kill an entire day getting him to the groomer and back again. During the holidays I was unable to get him groomed due to my schedule. So with a little trepidation I tried out the services at Elite. (The last time I tried someone inexperienced in grooming a Bedlington he was given a Dandie Dinmont Pompadour!) Candice patently listened to and followed my specific instructions and used my preferred grooming products (which I supplied). She was up to the challenge and did a very good job the first time. Needless to say we will be back again! read more

I absolutely adore this place. They genuinely love my pet and every other pet too. My dog is so excited to see them and to be there every time. They have great pricing, wonderful people and a clean facility! You will be so happy you came here! read more

Elite Pet Salon - Bruce loves Elite Pet Salon. He knows they are family and he knows he is loved. He comes home so soft & smelling so fresh! - Pet Groomers Near Me - Gig Harbor, Washington

Candice the owner of Elite Mobile Pet Salon came to our house to groom two dogs my moms and mine. I was looking for an alternative because my dog had had problems with groomers since he had a bad experience at a groomer. She has lots of paperwork to fill out before the appointment. I did not see her prices until after she left Then she emailed me the bill. I nearly fell off my chair $650.00 for two dogs. I would have expected my dog would cost more and he did he was $50.00 more than my moms dog who cost $300.00. She was charged extra because her dog was over the weight limit. She is a senior Coton de Tulear and according to her last vet visit she was not over her weight limit. I was also flabbergasted when I read the $100.00 consultation fee? I have NEVER seen a consultation fee for a dog groomer in my life. I have never paid this much money for a groomer ever. Like I said I knew I would be paying more for my dog as it would take longer to groom him. I told her my mom did not want her to trim her dogs ears as the last groomer shaved them off and they were already short. She did it anyway and her bill was $300.00. She neglected to tell me that she had a monthly rate for members and a regular price and if I became a member the next groom would be $225.00 for my dog and $175.00 for my moms. I looked for her rates in her website early on and could not find any. She informed me her rates are on her website. She was right they were! Under frequently asked questions? She has changed this since I complained to her and told her I was leaving a bad review. I will NEVER use her again. read more

Clifton, our Cavalier King Charles, loves going to Elite Pet Salon. When I first started looking for a reputable groomer in Gig Harbor, I am so thankful I landed on Elite Pet Salon. Naturally, leaving your loved one with others can always be somewhat scary, but I learned quick that they love and care just as much as I do. Clifton always comes out looking great and full of smiles. When I was there for an appointment, I noticed a note on Clifton's appointment that read something like "take good care of my baby." The note wasn't intended for me to see, but I'm glad I did. I think it's sweet they care that much about Clifton and the pets they take care of. I never, ever write reviews, but I felt it necessary to give praise to Elite Pet Salon and all of their staff for taking such great care of my baby boy. read more

Elite Pet Salon Gig Harbor, Washington I'm brand new to having to go to a dog groomer with my new fur baby Winston. I'm a very protective owner, and I asked a lot of questions and make sure that I feel ok before I leave my baby there. First time I came I felt very comfortable. I sat down with the owner and she answered questions she didn't have to because I was jabbering out of being nervous. They've always been kind and friendly and have always been accommodating to Winston's needs. I appreciate all staff being able to love on my sweet/crazy baby boy. Won't go anywhere else. Plus Winston comes back looking like a stuffed animal and smelling good! read more

Elite Pet Salon - Getting Venus's nails clipped with Candice at Elite Pet Salon. Candice does a GREAT job with Venus and takes good care of her! - Pet Groomers Near Me - Gig Harbor, Washington

I took my two huskies to Elite Pet Salon for the first time today. Not only is the owner, Candace, welcoming and confident in their services, she has a total right to be! I am highly impressed by the quality of their work at the salon.. here is my experience: after recently dealing with other salons trying to rid my pups of fleas, the fleas continued and there was no noticable difference to their coats or appearance after getting bathed and combed.. However, at Elite Pet Salon I made them aware of my pups personality sensitivities and they were both handled with the upmost care. Both my pups got the full treatment, with nail cut and file, teethbrush, medicated bath, and LOTS of brushing and fine tooth combing of their whole bodies.. my pups came back to me feeling so soft and smooth, no matts in their fur, the undercoat completely brushed out and all the flea dander gone, smelling wonderful, and with big smiles on their faces.. this was the best salon experiences I have had with any of my animals and I definatley plan to return in the future. The higher prices are definatley worth the hard work and patience these bathers and groomers put into taking the highest care and providing the best service! Highly recommended. read more

don't waste your time. Candice and Elite seem to be struggling with their business model. We started with their mobile offering in Sept (when we moved here), when we called for next appointment they were no longer doing mobile. Candice convinced us to bring them to the salon (our guys have always used mobile), we asked about their recent email about no longer doing larger dogs. She told us our 43 lb poo was fine, this was meant for larger dogs that were hard for them to lift and manage. She said she would work with our dogs so they would become comfortable being in their salon so we took our dogs to the salon. It took two visits to get our poo comfortable. Today we took her for another groom and when we picked her up we were asked if we "get their emails" and "did we see their policy on large dogs". Yes and yes. Michael then told us she now does not fit their big dog policy so referred us to another groomer for her future grooming. We said we had this conversation with Candice before we brought her the first time, and she confirmed our dog was not considered large and the policy was not intended for dogs her size. He then said "Our salon tubs are small". All of the sudden your tubs are too small we asked to which he replied "well Candice is now fully focused on the mobile business". Find another groomer, one that has some idea on what type of business they are running. read more

I brought my Persian kitty here and he was traumatized by the experience! I have had my cat groomed his entire life at Masers on the Eastside, but I had recently moved to the area and decided to try a closer groomer. The owner and groomer called to tell me my cat of 16 years had bitten and defacted on her table and they would not be bathing him & to come pick him up. I had never had any circumstance like this in my kitty's life! He is the most friendly laid back Persian I have ever come across &I have groomed him every 3 months his entire life. I have NEVER have I been called by a groomer for this type of reaction. I was devastated to learn that through a simple de-matting of his undercoat and comb through that he had been caused such distress he reacted this way. Furthermore she charge me by the minute for the service! I picked up my cat immediately! I would not recommend this Pet Salon for senior pets! read more

Went to Candice at Elite pet Salon for grooming with our pets. She and some of her help were, more often than not, rude and very disrespectful. Especially if we ever were to question the extra charges that were CONSTANTLY put on our bill. The grooming was satisfactory sometimes, however, when they did screw up and burn or shave the pups in error....which was becoming more and more often, they acted like it wasn't their fault! When I questioned the owner, Candice...she told me to "shove it" at the top of her voice, and was SO rude and unprofessional....well, I could hardly believe it! If they had taken responsibility for their mistakes, we would probably still be a client, but she was constantly very much in denial.....everything at Elite that goes wrong is the "customer's" fault. Again, TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL!! Don't take your dogs to Elite....you will be so sorry! read more

Very unhappy will not go back, worst haircut I have ever received (uneven) and paid $20 more and got nothing close to what I asked for. Was over charged for dog brush. Heard desk girl say they had a new groomer while I waited to pay. We should not have to pay for a groomer in training. I was looking for new groomer this is not the place. read more

They did such a good job grooming my pomeranian, Lily. Candice is super nice and I trust her with my fur baby. I highly recommend them!! :-)

Fantastic service and they do a beautiful job grooming! Owner, Candice, is so sweet and all the groomers and staff are amazing! I take my mini Labradoodle and Catahoula to Elite Pet Salon and they are so good with them. Very clean, professional, and friendly. I have tried other groomers in the Harbor and Elite is by far the best!! I would recommend to anyone! :-) read more

We took our well mannered Shih Tzu to Elite last month based upon a review and requested that Candice do the grroming. Didn't happen (Tara?), I cautioned the groomer about an arthritic hip. Sam was a bit gimpy post-grooming This month I again cautioned the same groomer about the hip. Upon picking her up she was in obvious distress and it was 5 days before she could walk without sitting down in pain and asking to be carried. Never again with Elite. Candice may be fine but she is clearly not supervising the staff. Additionally, I requested the first appointment of the day but did not get the call for 4 1/2 hours instead of a normal 2 hour grooming. Why should the dog need to sit in the corner waiting? Finally, it's probably the worst haircut she's ever had Don't use Elite read more

These folks are absolutely great! Loving and efficient with my beloved Persian cats.

My Persian cat got the best haircut of his life here. He has never looked or felt better. They also said he was very sweet and well behaved which was not the case at another local groomer who gave him the worst haircut of his life. Strongly recommend this hidden gem, will never go elsewhere again. read more

Do NOT bring your pet here. You will regret it. If I could give zero stars, I would. They charge far too much for their services. They only want to groom small dogs because they are easy and can do many in a day, making as much money as possible. The owner is rude and unfriendly. The staff seems like they don't want to be working there. The price they quote you may not be the price out the door. You will probably be up charged for things you didn't ask for. Please, bring your pet elsewhere. read more

Tried for the first time and the ladies there were very kind and sweet to my dog. However, my dog has multiple bald spots shaved into his fur and one of his toe nails has bleed profusely for the last few hours. Poor guy is in pain and my carpets need to be cleaned. :( read more

The groomer (NOT THE OWNER) was in a bad mood when I brought in my two dogs and impatiently shoved them in the back - I was not amused. Altho I asked for a full groom on one and just a bath & brush on the other, I was hit with all sorts of extra charges. Altho the full groom had been full-groomed less than six weeks earlier, I was charged a lot of a "de-matting" - other groomers never charged extra for what was an only-little bit matted - this one added on $20. Plus they said the dog had fleas (altho they admitted my other two didn't) and the dog had never before had fleas--and has had none since,,but extra charge for flea bath. Plus, plus. The other, getting just a bath and brush was added extras for face, feet, etc. (my old groomer never charged extra), so, again, plus, plus, plus - and I specified "only what comes with just a" bath & brush." The cost came to $175 when I had been quoted $125. I ran into a lady at Target who, as it turned out, had also previously gone to Eilte - and was really incensed by all the extra costs - above and beyond what she had been quoted and ordered. As she put it, EVERYTHING was an EXTRA. She, too, never went back. The dog that got the full groom was trimmed unevenly, very notable now since several weeks have passed. They had, earlier, also groomed my little dog, really messing up her tail groom - which was not hard to comb out - by doing it in layers instead of one long one-length cut. Months later it still looks terrible. This dog WAS matted, and, boy, did they tack on the extra charges for the 15-lb. dog. I complained and the owner tried to justify the extra charges and seeing that I refused to come back, did try and "make things right" by offering a free bath. She finally offered two free grooms, but, heck, I am not a glutton for punishment - I will not go back. read more

I've worked in the pet industry 5+ years and I've never seen an employee act so unprofessionally. Although their website says they specialize in geriatric pets, they DO NOT show any care or sympathy for older pets with any health issues. Instead, be prepared for a lecture about euthanasia and "knowing when we're being selfish," "hanging on too long," and taking into consideration "quality of life." Our dog is older and has an ear infection that we've been battling for years and has arthritic hips. He's been to the vet several times for the ear infection but it keeps coming back. His arthritis is being treated as well. ANY health concerns we've had about him have been addressed by a veterinarian and he's in good health aside from those few issues. Due to the arthritis, he is sometimes incontinent and we have him wear a wrap in case of accidents. The minute we walked in with his wrap on, the groomer immediately commented condescendingly about his incontinence. "Oh, incontinence too?" She had us sign a medical release form, which is totally understandable, but then the owner came out and proceeded to lecture me about euthanizing my dog. Regardless of her opinion, it is not her job to give unsolicited health advice to customers and to make us feel like we're being selfish and negligent by not putting him to sleep. She then commented on our other dog, who's 2 years younger and has zero health issues, and told us we probably shouldn't bring him in anymore either because of his age. Then they told us they're raising their rates again. Needless to say, we will NOT be coming back. read more
