They also were by far, out of the minimum of ten moves we made, both local and long distance, the MOST communicative and transparent. The value was amazing. Prices were slightly lower than others we were quoted but I'm certain the service was far better. His crew works hard and fast, AND, were trustworthy and friendly. In all the moves we've done, things were always damaged. NOT THIS TIME! I HIGHLY recommend them and would give them 10 stars if Yelp would let me!

Based on the many positive reviews, I expected great results when I hired Big Guy Moving to pack…read moreour entire household into a full U-Pack container for a cross-country move. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the biggest moving mistakes I've ever made. Troy and his helper seemed to know what they were doing, or at least Troy did. They were polite and spent about eight hours loading the container. From the very beginning, they saw that we had large furniture, appliances, oversized boxes, and many fragile belongings. We even provided moving blankets and specifically told them to use as many as they needed, assuring them we would gladly pay for any additional blankets. At first, they wrapped about half of the furniture that needed protection. Then they seemed to stop caring and loaded the rest without any padding. The results were devastating. Our expensive leather sofa, worth thousands of dollars, now has deep scratches. They cracked the digital touch controls, bent and badly scratched the top of our large dryer which cost over $1,200. Nearly every unprotected wooden piece of furniture has significant scratches. Almost every plastic storage tote was crushed, along with many cardboard boxes. They stacked heavy items on top of lighter boxes, including boxes clearly marked as fragile. They also broke four of our favorite floor and desk lamps. The damage is so extensive that I can't even list everything here. We took numerous photos of the damage. The professional movers who unloaded the container were shocked by how poorly everything had been packed. They told us they couldn't believe how unprofessionally the container had been loaded and how many of our belongings had been damaged. This is probably the most negative review I've ever written, but I feel obligated to warn anyone considering hiring this company for a long-distance move. Based on our experience, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. I am now forced to try and file an insurance claim and hope to recover at least part of our losses. I'm honestly afraid to open many of the boxes marked "fragile" because nothing inside was properly secured, allowing the contents to shift and tumble throughout the trip. Terrible packing job, terrible results, and a very expensive lesson.

It is not too much to ask of a business owner to care about what his employee did to a client. My…read moregoal with this review has always been to warn all women to RECORD EVERYTHING and do not be alone if you can help it anytime you have strange men in your home. Bison was hired by DVIS (Domestic Violence Intervention Services) to get me safely out of my home last August 2025 and Bison failed to provide this. I did everything I was supposed to do and reported what happened to DVIS. That former case mgr told me to call Bison. This in the middle of an out-of-town relocation for my own safety and during recovery from two illnesses while experiencing DV. The owner has the audacity to suggest on Yelp 2 things: That I was reaching out to him (reframing) and that I was somehow responsible for what took place, which is a very interesting way to look at things. In truth, I reached out to the business the week before moving day because I knew I wasn't going to be ready for them to move everything by that Friday. The DVIS case manager, who is a good friend of the business owner (her words) told me to call them and asked for extra help. I have chronic Lyme disease and was recovering from mononucleosis (reactivated Epstein Barr virus due to extreme stress). I'm also a senior. Bison Moving said they had no availability. I was left with no one to turn to for help. The business owner has recently stated on here that he fired his employee, J, over the incident. Good to know -- when I called to speak to the owner in Sept 2025, I was met with hostility and no update. But this predator is still out there somewhere, stated to me that he'd worked there for 5 years, and was 27 at the time. He still felt comfortable enough to text me a week after the move "to check on me and see if I needed any more help". It was scary. He showed no anxiety while in my home on that Friday and Saturday, was very superficially charming and arrogant. He had likely done this before and will likely do it again, only next time it may be worse. Women -- take precautions with all strange men coming into your home. You must protect yourselves from these types because they're everywhere right now. Bison Moving's crew walked into my home knowing why they were there -- J expressed his sympathy and asked for a hug first thing, and it felt icky. He knew I was vulnerable, exhausted, and desperate because he knew DVIS had contracted the move. They all knew. He later asked if he could take his shirt off. I fed two of the crew members because one of them told me he had not even eaten before showing up to work and responded that he was hungry when I asked. And I worked right alongside them, even though I was very ill. At the end of that day when we were all on the elevator, J asked me if I was going to give them a big tip. It was a horrible experience all around. And then J showed up the next day since he just happened to be free on Saturday -- to use more coercive control and assault me, and make some good cash. He told me it was fine with Bison and he did it all the time. He was the team leader and the other two guys said nothing. Fortunately, another company was hired to finish the job at a later date by moving me to my actual new city, and they were fantastic. Zero issues, I felt safe and they exhibited total professionalism, so it is possible.

I received an estimate the week before my move for 4-6 hours. It took over 8 hours. The crew…read morearrived and before they entered the house they complained of being tired. Four hours in while they were still loading, I offered to buy lunch. The driver quickly said that they would rather have a big tip. The driver told me during this time that he didn't think the truck was big enough for everything and it would require two trips. They gouged a couple of walls being careless. The driver assured me that he would take pictures and it would be fixed. He never did. Upon arrival at my new home, they again gouged walls with the furniture and were in such a hurry to leave that they left most of the furniture wrapped in plastic and blankets. I still tipped the crew but also emailed the company. They did offer to fix the damaged walls and unwrap furniture. At that point I had already taken care of everything myself.
