We had a terrible experience. The two guys were short handed, argued and wanted to leave early. Did not get everything in the truck and we had to make a second trip and it cost way more than quoted. Also my husband and I had to help load other truck or we would never have been out before midnight. Called the manager twice and he couldn't care less, no help. Very disappointed! read more

It is not too much to ask of a business owner to care about what his employee did to a client. My goal with this review has always been to warn all women to RECORD EVERYTHING and do not be alone if you can help it anytime you have strange men in your home. Bison was hired by DVIS (Domestic Violence Intervention Services) to get me safely out of my home last August 2025 and Bison failed to provide this. I did everything I was supposed to do and reported what happened to DVIS. That former case mgr told me to call Bison. This in the middle of an out-of-town relocation for my own safety and during recovery from two illnesses while experiencing DV. The owner has the audacity to suggest on Yelp 2 things: That I was reaching out to him (reframing) and that I was somehow responsible for what took place, which is a very interesting way to look at things. In truth, I reached out to the business the week before moving day because I knew I wasn't going to be ready for them to move everything by that Friday. The DVIS case manager, who is a good friend of the business owner (her words) told me to call them and asked for extra help. I have chronic Lyme disease and was recovering from mononucleosis (reactivated Epstein Barr virus due to extreme stress). I'm also a senior. Bison Moving said they had no availability. I was left with no one to turn to for help. The business owner has recently stated on here that he fired his employee, J, over the incident. Good to know -- when I called to speak to the owner in Sept 2025, I was met with hostility and no update. But this predator is still out there somewhere, stated to me that he'd worked there for 5 years, and was 27 at the time. He still felt comfortable enough to text me a week after the move "to check on me and see if I needed any more help". It was scary. He showed no anxiety while in my home on that Friday and Saturday, was very superficially charming and arrogant. He had likely done this before and will likely do it again, only next time it may be worse. Women -- take precautions with all strange men coming into your home. You must protect yourselves from these types because they're everywhere right now. Bison Moving's crew walked into my home knowing why they were there -- J expressed his sympathy and asked for a hug first thing, and it felt icky. He knew I was vulnerable, exhausted, and desperate because he knew DVIS had contracted the move. They all knew. He later asked if he could take his shirt off. I fed two of the crew members because one of them told me he had not even eaten before showing up to work and responded that he was hungry when I asked. And I worked right alongside them, even though I was very ill. At the end of that day when we were all on the elevator, J asked me if I was going to give them a big tip. It was a horrible experience all around. And then J showed up the next day since he just happened to be free on Saturday -- to use more coercive control and assault me, and make some good cash. He told me it was fine with Bison and he did it all the time. He was the team leader and the other two guys said nothing. Fortunately, another company was hired to finish the job at a later date by moving me to my actual new city, and they were fantastic. Zero issues, I felt safe and they exhibited total professionalism, so it is possible. read more

The movers themselves were hard working, patient, polite and cordial. My belongings were packed and unpacked very well. The reason for the 3 star instead of 5 star: a man who came to my door quoted me a 4-6 hour moving time after looking at my home; he also gave me a price estimate. They sent out 3 men and a truck, starting at 9:30am. They were unable to pack all my things in one truck, and had to go back (an hour +delay), finishing the job at 8pm. The cost was shockingly higher than I originally expected. The movers themselves told me they should have arranged 5 men and two trucks to complete the job in a much shorter timeframe. This is a management issue that should be addressed. read more

I received an estimate the week before my move for 4-6 hours. It took over 8 hours. The crew arrived and before they entered the house they complained of being tired. Four hours in while they were still loading, I offered to buy lunch. The driver quickly said that they would rather have a big tip. The driver told me during this time that he didn't think the truck was big enough for everything and it would require two trips. They gouged a couple of walls being careless. The driver assured me that he would take pictures and it would be fixed. He never did. Upon arrival at my new home, they again gouged walls with the furniture and were in such a hurry to leave that they left most of the furniture wrapped in plastic and blankets. I still tipped the crew but also emailed the company. They did offer to fix the damaged walls and unwrap furniture. At that point I had already taken care of everything myself. read more

An absolute nightmare of an experience! First of all, they couldn't get their scheduling right. I called the week prior and they were about to schedule me for Wednesday, but apparently didn't have till Thursday, which was the last day I had to get out of my 2 bedroom duplex. I was downsizing so I was moving into a two bedroom apartment which was a lot smaller. I sold a ton of furniture and got rid of a lot of stuff. They initially quoted me $300-$600 I thought even on the high end that would be OK. I even spent a week breaking my back, trying to move. Stuff ahead of time (for example I sold my bed, they didn't even have to move a couch, no appliances...) They took two extra hours, I was honestly wondering what was taking to long because after moving a bunch of stuff in to my apartment all week, I know that it doesn't take that long to get from the ground floor to my apartment. No one can use stairs as an excuse either because there is a ramp and an elevator !!! They had me the door at $900+ dollars, the real kicker is I have to go make multiple trips to my OLD place because they had reasons and excuses as to why they cannot move certain things. "Can't move lamps because we break so many of them." Or "Can't move planters and patio furniture because they have dirt and it would get the truck dirty." So now on top of the $900 I spent to NOT get all of my stuff because "they had reasons" for not wanting to move some of it... now I have to figure out another way to get all of my stuff out before the end of today, COMPLETE SCAM. The reason I paid for movers is because I have had two back surgeries in the last few years This time. I also had to move in an emergency because there was a fire on the other side of my duplex, I feel terribly taken advantage of. I've had people move me before, and it was less than half the a cost for way better service. That's the other thing is there was no personability, every time they called they hung up without saying goodbye. I tried to be very sweet and gracious to them and they were just so indifferent . Then without providing above and beyond service, they had the audacity to say they accept tips at the end whenever they didn't even ask me where most of my things where I wanted should go (so now I got to do the literal back breaking work I was trying to avoid. They just put my stuff anywhere. There was damage on furniture that have never moved until today, so I know it was them. I seen feet off of furniture laying around and there's just such disregard and lack of care for people's treasured objects. It's heartbreaking. read more

Rate upon arrival was different because of Saturday--they scheduled the move date not me. Could not carry all the items to new location. They offered to move them to the garage and come back next week to actually move them to my new house. I'm sure I would have been charged for the extra trips. Surcharges for wrapping and 3% credit card fee--paying by check not an option. Eventually told them to leave and now I will have to find someone else and block out another day. I wish I could have gotten a firm to do what they said they would do. Recommend renting a U-Haul truck and two handy men--can't do any worse. read more

My daughter had used them for her move which was two weeks before my move. They left a lot of things at her house and said they "could not get everything". Which left her making 4-5 trips back to finish her moving. Even with that, I used them, thinking it was a fluke thing. They were late getting there, charged me way more considering my daughter had more stuff than I did. Then I was told they "Couldn't get everything." When I called to complain, I was told they would send a van out to get it and deliver to my new house. When I text them about doing that, they advised there would be an additional charge of $400.00. (The moving cost per hour went UP by $15.00 an hour on this quote.) I 100% would NOT RECOMMEND this company. I watched them drop my things and handle very roughly and never said a word. They will not do what they say. read more

Movers arrived 2 hours late and did not call until after the original window had begun leaving us waiting. They were very efficient boxing up. They then piled all our personal items in the center of the street and told me it would be an additional two thousand dollars. My father has terminal cancer and we were moving him back to my state for end of life care so I could not back out as we flew out the next day and we had a hotel for a single night for him. They took my items on the 21st of June with delivery as soon as the first of July. They said 8-21 days. They apparently took my items to California. I started asking for a delivery estimate on Tuesday the 2nd. They did not respond to emails or phone messages left. I finally was able to reach someone today, July 8th. They told me they had zero plans for shipping my items to my state in the Midwest and when I asked why the $2000 extortion since I was shipping fewer items and had an email chain showing the estimate was for more items than I shipped and I have the exact dimensions of the shipping boxes and sizes of the furniture, I was yelled at, called a liar, told I could have just refused, and hung up on. I now am stuck in limbo. My elderly veteran father has terminal cancer and I can't even get him his proper bed. Do not use this company if you value your money, your items, or your sanity.
