Talk about bait and switch! Also, the unit is barely climate controlled with huge roaches are everywhere, and there is no lighting inside the unit. At the rate I'm supposed to pay now, I would have been better off at Public Storage because they have REAL climate control, NO roaches and plenty of lighting, and it was closer to my house.

Well I went online to make a payment and I was only given option for full amount or full amount and next payment I asked if I could pay the fees next month and was told no my payments are now up to 217.00 from that initial 50.00 all my things are affected by insects. I'm at a loss for all the increases and lack of compassion for long time senior renters. I'm disabled and can not move these things on my own or I would have go to a newer nicer facility if you want a clean bug free unit. To store your items. Well late fee paid , total 245.00 now I can not adjust or remove auto pay. Online the I bot says you can but there is no online access to do this . I give up I guess I have to call office tomorrow. I then asked what the chances are of this building getting flooded, and if they have any precautionary measures to prevent flooding. And he literally started laughing in my face and said I'm not gonna give you an answer. Literally laughing... As if this is funny that all my stuff is at risk in their facility. Joe's family has owned this property for 22 years. Family owned storage facilities are the VERY best especially if professionally impeccably run like Sawyer. I rented from Public storage until this year in Minnesota - - they raised my rent 50 % in May to $1500 a month for 2 thirty foot deep temp controlled units after being a loyal customer for 18 years!!! 4 years ago the top middle and local management throughout Public Storage that had worked for years, suddenly ALL quit in 2-3 months, and then rental rates sky rocketed each year. This is happening nationally with all giant corporate storage companies! I now will ONLY use top quality local regional family owned storage companies. This facility originally was an ice skating rink then a post office. They retrofitted it into a spotless, perfectly lit, very very well air conditioned/ fully temperature controlled medium sized facility. The front door slim door mounted security key pad is very easy to use. We have been coming to Sarasota visiting in-laws for 35 years and never knew this building and street existed. It is very nicely tucked away hidden off two quiet small roads. Security outside and inside are excellent and someone is in the office/ facility daily 9-5, saturdays 9-12. I feel 100 % secure here coming solo ( over age 70). Location is excellent if you live in Osprey, Sarasota, Siesta Key, Downtown Sarasota and worth the drive if you live in Longboat Key. Enjoy!

He helped me the night I moved my stuff in and when I was at the wrong storage facility next door, he guided me, and we laughed about it later! I had a problem with my door code and he fixed it quickly. He is a phone call away! Never had any issues there in the 2 years I used them! I would refer anyone to them. I went there all hours and always felt safe. Great value compared to some other places I called around town too!!

I talked to Laura Georgia on the phone and in person. She was the best ever! Laura set me up with a unit and made the move in date flexible to give the shady moving company time to deliver to my unit. She said she didn't want me to spend more money than necessary -especially considering what we had been through with the moving company. She was so nice and friendly. Like dealing with your favorite aunt who you love see during the holidays especially if your holidays includes a Joe Pesci clone attempting to steal you stuff and money!
