Long island glass is so invested in doing weekly events, that they have the worst customer service I think I've honestly ever seen & rarely ever update the glass showroom with new stuff. When you go to the shop to look at the showroom to buy something, nobody is ever there to even greet you or help you... everyone is in the back in the studio smoking & blowing glass. You have to ring a doorbell just so someone will come out into the actual shop to help you... I've sat in the store for a good 15 minutes before someone even recognized I was there. Trying to get something repaired is a joke and your better off not even bothering. Ive been waiting 2 years at this point just to get a rig repaired & it still isn't done... I've seen car restorations that are faster how? I've even spoke to joe.p numerous times in person to be told it would be fixed by a certain date, just to be continuously lied too directly to my face. I've contacted them on Instagram to have my messages left on read. I've even called their business number on google & the woman who answers isn't helpful at all cause I'm almost positive she doesn't actively work at the studio or has any clue what's going on. It got to the point where she had to literally contact joe just to respond to my messages on Instagram. I will 100% never be doing business with this place ever again & will make sure to tell everyone I know to never deal with this place. He said the more we come, the better we'll get and I'm excited for it. It's an amazing craft. We felt the price was competitive but reasonable. They were so kind and patient with us. We felt like bulls in a china shop. But he talked with us all the way through it all. If you have the time, it's worth a try.

The event consisted of a tour of the facility and an explanation of the glass working process, followed by a meal with wine and beer provided by neighboring restaurant 3 Thirty Three. After the refreshments the group of about 30 participants was encouraged to select a glass object in on display and then create their own version of the object with the expert help of the Kinship Glassworkers. The glass objects were various styles of drinking glasses, paper weights, and even a glass flower. You choose the colors and then help the artisans to execute the design. The even takes about 3-4 hours depending on the number of participants. $130 covers the cost of the food, drinks, and the glass object.

Hudson Beach Glass was one of the shops open and I found GREAT gifts for family and friends back home (Hawaii). I love glass art and the objets d' art I found there were truly beautiful, delicate and one of a kind! Can't beat that! We were here in December for a team building event, and we just picked up our glass creations last…read moreweek. We had a great time. There were 6 of us and two instructors, so we got to watch two people at a time making their creations. Most people made a bud vase, but two made flowers, and I made a bowl. A great time was had by all! I'll definitely come back again - perhaps on my own - to make a flower.

Earth n' Vessel is a wonderful pottery studio located in downtown Bay Shore. If you can't park on…read morethe street, there is a huge parking lot in the back. They have a nice little gallery/shop in the front of the business where you can purchase hand made pottery crafted by the members. Earth n' Vessel also offers classes. They have 14 (I think 14) wheels: one teacher and 13 students. The two and a half hour classes teach clay preparation/wedging, wheel throwing, slabbing, finishing and glazing. In addition, there is open studio time, allowing students more time to work in the studio. You pay for the classes (open studio time is included) and your clay (you pay by the pound and the cost includes glazing and firing). I spent the better part of eight years as a student there, and loved every minute of it (I am taking some time off to raise our son). Many of my closest friends, I met here. At the end of the session (summer, fall, spring and winter) they have a Pots and Pickins party in the studio. You bring your favorite piece from the session (the pot) and a food dish to share (the pickins). A wonderful place... and I can't wait to get back!
