I'm soo happy I finally got to experience Tiny's Cantina over the weekend for brunch. The weather might have been brisk outside but the staff brought the warm and coziness to the restaurant vibe inside. I came here around noon and the place haven't been filled up yet but that was truly toward my benefit as my waiter, Jeff was extra attentive (yay me!). He offered me both brunch and regular menu and was very friendly and eager to assist me if I needed it. After making all my choices, he complimented and said I made good choices and whether if that was true or not, it made me felt happy. Lol. All of the food portion were huge. I ordered their wings as my appetizer, shrimp/bacon taco for entrée and tres leche for dessert. With that they also offered me some fresh fried taco with homemade salsa that was really delicious and made me wanting more even though I had to pace myself. Presentation wise, it was all instagramable. They restaurant is very conscious about presentation so that was a huge plus. As for taste, it was all good. I especially enjoy my shrimp/bacon taco as it was huge and those trio-side sauce (hot sauce, green sauce and pumpkin sauce) was just outright slamming. As for portion it was larger then life, especially for one person. Honestly I think it could feed two people as I ended up taking half of it home. Overall, I enjoyed myself, felt really relaxed, enjoyed their playlist and especially my waiter, Jeff that help tied my experience with Tiny Cantina in nicely. This place was super cute. I had the burrito bowl. It was good. Probably something on the healthier side considering the grilled chicken and fresh ingredients. The only gripe I had was seasoning. It lacked flavor which is huge in Latin food. Mexican food is probably one of my favorite types of cuisines because of the fresh ingredients, because of all the time, energy and culture attached to the food so it was slightly underwhelming. A bit bland. But the service was great. Our server was so nice. We got the highly instagramable pizza. It was lovely and very filling but couldn't done with a feels radishes. If you love radishes, get the pizza. The drinks were refreshing and tasty. Definitely recommend checking it out. My Yelp fren had the diablo shrimp which was spicy. I call this New Mexican cuisine. For starters we had the Mexican pizza which was made with black bean puree, chorizo, pickled onions, crema topped with radishes and pickled onions. This was huge I'm mad I left my leftovers at the restaurant . It was a healthier alternative to pizza. I would have rather less radishes because I felt it overpowered the flavors of the other food items. The pizza looked pretty though. My friend ordered the nachos and they were kind enough to substitute the pulled pork for shrimp. The nachos were really good and very filling. Entrees: Shrimp Diablo this entree may be spicy to some, but I like spicy. These were jumbo shrimp and was served with white rice and veggies. I don't think string beans and snap peas are considered Mexican veggies, oh well. This was also a hefty meal and I definitely had leftovers My Yelp friend had the Burrito Bowl. I didn't get to taste but she said it wasn't bad. The chicken could've had a bit more flavor it was missing something. The bowl with all the works instead of lettuce it was baby arugula though. Cocktails: were really good I had the Oaxacan Old fashion made with mezcal and tequila. It definitely packed a punch. My friend had the Santa Sangre which I was told was good. Dessert: We both had the tres leches. It was a bit too wet for me. However I've been here once before I highly recommend their tacos they make some good tacos here.. Never in my life have I passed up free dessert until now. My plus one and I started with guacamole but the real star of the show was the free pick given out. It was so flavorful, crisp, and delicious. I got so full almost had to stop but thankfully, I barreled through the tacos. As always, Yelp Elite members never steer me wrong. The shrimp BLT tacos were phenomenal. I was a little apprehensive about bacon on tacos, but thankfully I wasn't apprehensive enough. They were the best tacos I've had in a very long while. Everything was so delicious I had to pass on dessert (sad). As always, thank you to Morlene and Tiny's Cantina for this exceptional opportunity. Great ambiance and food! I invited a group of four others to join me in my dining experience and we all agreed that the food was fantastic. Thank you to Jono for coordinating my reservations. I had to change the date and #of ppl and he was very accommodating. For food, we started out with the Alas Al Pastor: chicken wings marinated adobo with pineapple salsa, which comes in 8. Sweet and very tasty, cooked just right. Next we had the corn bread and it's one of the fluffiest cornbread I've ever had. It's like a souffle cornbread, a must try. Everyone had their own main dish. Since I didn't try everyone's, I'll describe only mine. I went for a classic burrito bowl, which was plated very nicely. The ingredients were fresh. I wasn't too hungry that evening so I took half to go and the next day, it was just as tasty. (Tip: shake it up in your takeout box before eating!) Friends ordered the cemita, mushroom quesadilla, tacos, and the burger. They all said good things!! Lastly we ended the night with some churros dipped in chocolate sauce. Yummy in my tummy! This was my first true elite experience in 4 years and I loved it! It was a nice day and we had the option to sit outside but chose to sit inside because of the typical, loud NYC traffic. Jeff, our waiter, was awesome! I wish I could receive this service at every restaurant I go to! Our waters were constantly refilled and he checked on us a few times. I'm a huge water drinker so not having to ask for water at all was delightful. We ordered the tlayuda as an appetizer. I wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. I appreciate a creative dish that you can't really find anywhere else. I like pickled anything so the pickled onions and radishes were right up my ally! I like that the crust was a thin tortilla and not so carby like pizza dough. For my entree I ordered the shrimp diablo and my husband ordered the camaron BLT so we got to try each other's meals. My shrimp diablo had a kick to it and was super filling. The camaron BLT tacos were also an innovative dish and tasty. The shrimp were pretty big! I really wanted the churros so I took the rest of my shrimp diablo to go so I could have dessert (I have a sweet tooth)! The churros with the chocolate did not disappoint and we finished them all! Great experience at Tiny's Cantina for the Yelp elite event! I ended up stopping by on a Friday night after getting my booster shot and realizing that I had the event. Even though I didn't have a reservation, I was there early enough in the night that they had space for a table for one. Given it was just me, the portions were large enough that I actually now have leftovers for a second meal which is great. However, to anyone coming in the future, I would recommend bringing a second person so you can split the appetizer and dessert and then that person can just get their own entrée. For the appetizer, I got the cornbread, which seems like it would be the smallest of the appetizers since it was the lowest price. However, it was still huge and absolutely delicious. I am glad I have leftovers to eat this weekend. It's mildly spicy with a flavorful butter on top. For the entrée, I ordered the Birria tacos and they were delicious. I like that they lightly fry the taco shell so it was crispy and overall the flavors were excellent. It comes with a side of consomé as well. Finally, and maybe my favorite part of the meal, was the Tres leches cake. It was delicious and served at the perfect temperature with fresh fruit on top. I really liked it. The service was also excellent, friendly, and attentive. My friend called me while I was eating on FaceTime and I showed her my meal and as such we are already planning a return. My meal was very delicious. I enjoyed everything from Apps to dessert. I would recommend coming with a friend. Initially I meant to dine alone and I was struggling with ALL the food I had to eat by myself. Last minute a friend decided that he can join me (of course I told him he had to order something). With my friend there to share, I was able to get Tiny's Nachos- Omg. This was really good. The guac, Jalapeños annnddd mango pieces all melded together well. The chips underneath were really crispy. I have actually been craving nachos for about 2months and this really hit the spot. I was very surprised at the chips though. So crisp. Prior to that they also served the same chips with salsa. Also good. My entree was the Shrimp Diablo. I devoured it all. Giant shrimp in spicy chipotle sauce. The side veggies were crisp and fresh. Loved the snap peas. My friend ordered the Pescado Al Pastor which he loved. Overall the dishes are tasty without being overly spicy. I particularly like heat, so I ended up using the condiments they brought out. Dessert..I was torn between the Sorbet and the Tres Leche. Now on their main Yelp page I could not find a photo of the Sorbet so i wasn't sure what was in store. My waitress did recommend it however so that's what I ordered. Dessert was large and in charge, definitely a sharing size. Thank you so much for a wonderful outdoor dining experience where we could bring our pup! Tiny's Cantina was very accommodating when I emailed to ask if we could reserve their outdoor seating because we wanted to bring our pup to dinner with us. We were seated at one of their two large picnic tables at the front of the restaurant, though the inside had awesome vibes including a lovely mural (see pic). Our server was attentive and accommodating and even brought out water for our pup. The food overall was very good, though there were definitely some stars. To start, we got the Totopos Y Salsas, a trio of salsas with homemade tortilla chips. I love tortilla chips, full stop. However, it's always such a treat when they're the freshly made ones that are on the greasy side (like a tortilla pita chip, almost!) These were nice and warm and had such structural integrity that it was very easy to scoop up the salsa. The roasted tomato salsa was a standout and had such a nice rich flavor. The pico de gallo had a classic and fresh taste. Definitely worth getting again. Didn't love that extra tortilla chips ran us $3 and that they didn't tell us we had to pay for additional chips when we were offered a chip refill. The friend we went with is a big molle fan, and she was very pleased with the enchiladas de queso. The birria de res, which is a popular menu item, was SO GOOD and so rich without feeling heavy. There is a very generous portion of beef in these tacos. The bone marrow was a very nice touch, though I didn't have it with the taco. The pescado al pastor was great, but I was a bit underwhelmed. I'm a big fish taco fan and I'm a big al pastor fan. I can't say that combining fish and pineapple was as epic as I was hoping it to be, but it was delicious nonetheless. The most disappointing dish was the shrimp diablo because I thought that it lacked cohesiveness/vision. It was literally shrimp covered in a diablo sauce (very good but indeed spicy), surrounding a mound of rice, and some veggies. Exactly how the menu described it, without any creative features to it. My favorite part of the dish was actually the sugar snap peas, which were a nice surprise. But this dish could be skipped and I think I would've rather tried the Tlayuda or Camarón "BLT" tacos instead. We finished off with mangonada sorbet, which I highly recommend if you like mangos and tajin. It's basically that tajin covered mango snack but in sorbet form. So so good, but we weren't able to finish it because it was a generous serving and it was a chilly night. Thank you Tiny's Cantina and Yelp for such a fantastic experience, especially when getting to go with fellow Yelp Elite friends. We were greeted immediately with a friendly server, who tended to us throughout our brunch and made sure any questions and needs were fulfilled. With 3 appetizers, entrees, and drinks each on the table, we definitely could have used more table real estate alright! For appetizers, I got the Guacamole Classico as an app, Camaron BLT for my entree, and Churros for my dessert. I also tried the Cactus Pear Margarita. The Cactus Pear Margarita ($15) was recommended by the server as the most sweet. While it may be the sweetest, I would also like to add: the most sour. First sip was like taking a sip of sour medicine, but the lime soon grows onto you and overtakes the strong alcohol. My Guacamole Classico ($15) was a normal size compared to the other huge portion appetizers. They gave us Chips & Salsa on the house, but that doesn't mean this is not worth a try! Chips were oily and huge, but delicious on its own and extra bomb with the fresh guac. After seeing reviews relish the Camaron BLT ($15), I decided to give it a go as well. Yelp reviewers, ya'll are on point with this one! I usually go with meat for toppings, but Tiny's Cantina does shrimp tacos right! You have to taste how juicy this shrimp is for yourself! I barely noticed the bacon bits in it because of how amazingly flavorful that large shrimp was. I'm not too big of a fan of the soft yet tough to chew taco shells though. Lastly, the Churros ($6) were the perfect sweet treat to end off the great meal. Warm, comforting, and chocolatey, I think I just got an early sneak peak of Christmas. This has to be a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. What a feeeeast!!! Thank you so much Tiny's and Morlene for putting on this event. It was especially sweet because I got to meet two other Elites and share this amazing meal with them. To start off, we got the cactus pear margarita, grapefruit and cilantro margarita, and grapefruit mimosa. Both grapefruit drinks were super refreshing and well-balanced, but the cactus pear one really tasted like tequila. So if you like strong drinks, that one's for you! We got the Tlayuda, Tiny's nachos, and guac as our round of appetizers. The appetizers were so large, they could've been an entire meal. We thought the Tlayuda was a little bland, but after drizzling it with some of Tiny's house-made sauces (hot, pumpkin seed, avocado) it gave the snack a boost of flavor. The nachos and guac were amazing--the nachos were loaded with crema, meat, cheese, guac, and more. The three of us got three different types of tacos so we could sample all of them! We got the birria, BLT (shrimp), and suadero tacos. The birria didn't advertise it, but it came with queso! My favorite was the birria and shrimp. The meat from the suadero tacos was so tender and good, but it was a bit dry. I ended up dipping it in my birria soup, and after that, it was a lot better. Finally, dessert! We got churros and tres leche, and both were amazing. The chocolate dip was a bit too sweet for my liking, but I really enjoyed dipping my churros in the tres leche milk. I decided to order Guac and chips as my appetizer, shrimp Diablo as my entree and tres leches as my dessert. My boyfriend tried the esquites and birria tacos. We also had lime jarritos. The food came out promptly and everything was delicious. They had 3 sauces, seasonal pumpkin, green and red. My favorite was the pumpkin sauce. I also highly recommend the guac, I wanted a second serving! What an immaculate experience ! Thank you Yelp Elite team and Tiny's Cantinas for hosting. We were able to choose 1 appetizer, 1 entree, and 1 dessert. Our whole table was filled with food and everyone was staring at us. Like these three girls can eat Jeff, our server, was such a joy to have around. He constantly checked up on us and made sure we had everything we needed. Damn Jeff is so good at his job ! Although the space may be small, the employees surely filled the restaurant with energy. I had the Cilantro and Grapefruit Margarita, which I may say is one of the best drinks I've had. It's pretty sweet but you can still taste the tequila at the end of each sip. Definitely recommend this if you enjoy sweeter drinks. I almost felt like I needed to reach this drink to cleanse my palate in between bites. The Tlayuda, a Mexican pizza, is a dish that is not for everyone. I didn't like the pickled radish on top and I think this pizza lacked flavor. However, the sauces from the nachos here really helped elevate the pizza though. Ask for the sauces next time! The Tiny's Suadero tacos was a bit dry for my liking. It was packed with huge chunks of brisket, which is unheard of in any taco place I've eaten at. The tortilla was so good. I don't know what's so different about it but it feels so fresh and crispy ! Lastly, the tres leche cake was the lightest cake I've tried. I loved that it the cake was so soft and fluffy. Would definitely order this and pack it to go next time! I've passed Tiny's Cantina so many times on my way to the Barclays Center. I remember even seeing it being built. I never tried Morgan Barbecue, it's sister restaurant, being vegan and all, but it always looked packed with people so I figured it must be good. If it is anything like my experience at TC then I know it is. I don't even know where to begin. Everything was exceptional from the service to the food quality and ambiance. For starters, I ordered the guacamole clasico which was fresh and flavorful, I then ordered the cactus pear margarita, if you don't have a drink in mind, I definitely suggest getting it; it was amazing! For entrees, I had the Barbacoa de Hongos tacos without cheese. It was so delicious and the sauces really enhanced the flavor. If I wasn't trying them out for the first time, I recommend mixing the sauces. Lastly, I had the mangonada sorbet which was also equally delicious. It was sweet and savory like the mangos you get with chamoy from the street vendors. My only gripe with TC (if I could find one) is that they're not many vegan options on the menu. There could easily be modifications to the existing menu, i.e a burrito bowl with mushrooms instead of just one with chicken or getting vegan cheese for the quesadillas. This was such an amazing opportunity and made even more special, for me since this is the last dining experience in my old neighborhood, because I'm moving at the end of the week. I came here for brunch last Sunday and I was the first customer in, but the space was warm and inviting. I had my choice of seating and I sat at a table facing the street so that I could people watch. My server was great and very attentive. I started off the jalapeño skillet cornbread which was delicious and very filling. I then got the enchiladas de queso which were also great and very filling. Got lucky enough to be invited to share this elite perk by my friend & fellow yelper.. we came in on a Tuesday, fitting as for Taco Tuesday we were greeted nicely & once seated we started with some drinks. We both had the Cactus pear cocktail, great tasting drink we really enjoyed it decent amount of alcohol. Appetizers we had the Alas al pastor , very good wings good sauce & great dipping pineapple salsa sauce. Taco's we had Suadero & Camaron BLT , the suadero tacos is smoke brisket very good , winner here were the Camaron tacos beer battered shrimp with a chipotle bacon so tasty these tacos. For dessert the Mangonada sorbet , yummm this was delicious the mango sorbet was soooo good !! First of all, I came on a day that was pouring but I would like to say that when it's taco tuesday, its TACO TUESDAY. Immediately greeted with great energy when I walked in. It was one of those immediately jumped into conversation and forgot to even exchange names with the bartender. He was great though. Of course I had to start with a dwinkkkkk. I got the Cactus Pear without the agave because I wanted it more on the neutral side rather than sweet, and it was delicious. The pear puree definitely muted the tequila taste for me and made it dangerously tolerable for more than one. For the appetizer, I got the Tlayuda, which is basically a "mexican pizza" and the chorizo on this was everything. I normally don't even prefer eating chorizo, but i honestly like anything that has pickled onions on it. This portion was huge by the way. Definitely could have not finished this alone. The radishes was the wild card for me because again, not something I would normally choose to eat. I'm trying to think outside the box when I got out to eat these days. NO REGRETS HERE. The perfect fresh vegetable to go with the chorizo. They knew the vibes here. For the entree, I got the camarón "BLT" taco as recommended by our server and bartender whose names I cannot believe we did not exchange because we have an amazing time. These tacos... Listen, I love a shrimp taco. It's honestly my go to. But this taco? Nah. First bite was an experience, and I WILL BE RETURNING for this again. Also got the churros for dessert because of course. Ok, let me tell you, this is one of the best Mexican places I have ever been to in NYC. And thank you, Yelp, for introducing me to my new go-to tequila-guacamole hang-out spot. The place has a great vibe. I took my husband with me as he is my best drinking body. We ordered guacamole ( of course ), super fresh, and the chips were incredible. We also got some off the menu chicharron, which is not a regular dish in the area! My husband is a big fan of it! Then we got tacos with brisket; the brisket was moist and with great Texas flavor profile, and another we tried with pulled beef and bone marrow; OMG, the perfect flavor combination, dip some of this taco in the broth or use a spoon for it. We should have to right there, but we also ordered shrimps, which were excellent. I want to point out an exceptional tequila selection; it is just incredible! We git so many shots; I stopped to count. I also got two drinks, one better than the other! For the dessert, I got a mango sorbet; I think I know where they bought it, but you can buy it in any supermarket; I regularly purchase it for myself. I've been a fan of Morgan's since they opened. I went to the Yelp event there a few years back. And I was devastated to learn there was a fire in their space, causing them to shut down. But thankfully, they have Tiny's, where they can continue filling BBQ orders, and offer new Mexican fare! Stopped in on a Saturday. Just beat the brunch/lunch rush and sat at the bar. The space is beautiful and very bright. Jeff was manning the bar, and a super nice dude. Via the Yelp Elite perk, we got the guac as our app, a fried chicken cemita as our entree, and churros for dessert. Oh man, that was enough food for two people, but we're fat asses, so we also got an order of al pastor fish tacos on top of that, and the esquites (corn, cheese, and bone marrow). I definitely felt that meal for a good while. Everything was delicious, but I will say that the cemita was the standout. It was an oversized piece of fried chicken breaded with a ton of black pepper. Perfect in every way! We also got some Mexican beers, though I was definitely eying some cocktails. Their liquor selection is pretty damn good too! Thoroughly enjoyed my meal and appreciated all the great service. As a frequent guest of Morgan's BBQ I was intrigued by the news the same team was opening a cantina. I was not let down! We started with a tray of al pastor nachos and a bowl of guacamole with chips. The nachos were cloaked in all the usual toppings -- cheese, beans, pico, etc. -- and then if that wasn't enough, a decent addition of al pastor pork, seasoned well and a welcome bite with each chip. The guacamole was flavorful and rich. Never a bad choice to go with chips and guac to kick off a Tex-Mex dinner. Next, I had the brisket tacos and my friend ordered the carnitas. The brisket tacos were overstuffed with delicious cubes of the same brisket served at Morgan's. I can't say my tacos were a disappointment, BUT, they needed just a bit of moisture or liquid to give it a boost. Maybe some of that BBQ sauce found on the Morgan tables would've helped. I doused my tacos in the provided sauces (more on those in a bit), but it just wasn't enough. My friend's carnitas tacos were tender and comforting, and bonus points for the accompanying pork rind, which I crumbled a bit into my taco for texture. And finally, for dessert, the churros. Completely hit the spot! Warm, crisp, not too drenched in crystallized sugar, and the perfect vehicle for the side of Mexican chocolate to dip. One extra note on the taco suaces: There are 3 total and you really can't go wrong with any of them. An avocado variety that has a bit of a bite, a pumpkin seed sauce that is cooling and creamy and went well with the carnitas, and then the red, spicy sauce, which wasn't five-alarm, but just fiery enough to boost the brisket tacos. read more

I wish the wings were tossed in the sauce but they gave more than enough to dip yourself. The camaron BLT is a must try. The shrimps were huge, had a wonderful flavor and the tortilla was homemade. This was a great entree to make this cool fusion spot. The grilled corn was average, but a big size and I also got the tres leches which was so rich and tasty. The main con for me was how long the food took to be made. I came at around 5:45/6PM on Sunday and they were not overly busy, yet food took 45 mins to an hour after ordering to get to arrive. I truly enjoyed Tony's Cantina Elite Experience. The food and service were excellent. We ordered the Alas al pastor which was a tasty, and sweet Adobe chicken wing with pineapple salsa. The unique and visually appealing (did it for the 'Gram) Tlayuda, a Mexican pizza topped with black beans, radish, picked onions, cream and salsa. It was crispy crispy with soft and delicate toppings. For the main course I had the shrimp Diablo, a nice size portion of shrimp in a "spicy" chipotle sauce. My roommate ordered the Barbacoa De Hongos tacos, she said they tasted meaty, it a good way! The brisket in Tiny's Suadero Tacos melts in your mouth. Definitely worth the trek to get here as the food and service were extraordinary. Also, what a great way to kick off my very first Yelp Elite event! I started off with the corn bread for an appetizer which was quite tasty. It was sweet and cake like with some spices added which gave it an unexpected but welcome slight kick. For my main I ordered the camaron blt, which was beer battered shrimp with bits of chipotle bacon and habanero aioli and lettuce. Wow, this was super flavorful and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Definitely the best shrimp tacos I've ever had in my life. My mom ordered her go to, chicken quesadillas and she very much enjoyed her meal. We ended with the tres leches, which was absolutely heavenly and definitely tasted homemade. Super enjoyable meals here and would love to return to try more of the menu. Had a wonderful experience visiting Tiny's Cantina with a Yelp Elite discount. With fun drinks and good food, it is definitely a spot worth checking out. Quality: Thanks to Yelp and the owners of Tiny's Cantina got a chance to try out a good portion of the relatively new restaurant's menu. We started with cocktails, which included Tiny's Margarita, an excellent take on standard margarita, the Hibiscus Margarita, a refreshing twist that was very good, and the Santa Sangre Margarita, which had too much going on for my taste with chili, blood orange, and campari. For appetizers we had the Guacamole Clasico, which was excellent. We also ordered the Queso Fundido, which was okay, but I felt used too much white cheese impacting the texture. We then moved into Tacos, which were the highlights of the meal. My favorite were the Camaron BLT Tacos, with delicious beer battered shrimp and a wonderful combination of bacon, pico, lettuce, and aioli. My girlfriend leaned more towards the also excellent Birria De Res Tacos, filled with pulled beef shank, onions, and cheese, as well as broth with bone marrow. The Pollo Quesadilla was okay, but it ended up soggy. It is an item you should eat as soon as it comes out. Our meal ended with Churros, which were sweet and solid. Quantity: All the food items came with very large portions, the Tacos were especially big, Value: $14-$15 for the Cocktails. $15 for the Guacamole Clasico. $12 for the Queso Fundido. $15 for the Camaron BLT Tacos. $16 for the Birria De Res Tacos. $15 for the Pollo Quesadilla. $6 for the Churros. Ambiance: Tiny's Cantina is located in the Prospect Heights area of Brooklyn, a few steps from Barclays. They had a few tables set up outside, but most of the seating was indoors. A large bar is at the center of the space showing off the tequila and mezcal collection. There were also a few televisions overhead showing college football. Tables surrounded the bar, both along the front window and right wall. The decor was relatively simple, but they had some memorable artwork on the wall. Crowd: I was shocked at how quickly they filled up for weekend lunch. We were the first to arrive, but by the time we left there were only a few bar seats left. Service: The two guys working in the front of the shop were excellent and doing it all. Food came out very fast, so consider asking them to pace it a bit. Upon walking in I realized something. And it wasn't the great decor. This was a Shorty's! I recognized that bar. While Shorty's is gone, the good vibes remain. Delicious drinks, great service, and awesome food. Good to see Tiny Cantina's keeps up the great work. For the Yelp experience we got a free appetizer, one of our entrees, and a dessert on the house. Don't worry though we got plenty more and made sure to tip on what the entire bill would have been. First the drinks. Tiny's has a solid Mexican beer selection to go along with some strong cocktails. While on more of the expensive side for a Mexican restaurant the $15 cocktails aren't bad. I found the margarita served in a tall ball glass was unique, it still his the spot. I also loved my mezcal drink. For the appetizer we got the Guac and chips, which may have been some of the freshest guac I ever tried. It was no joke. And I love their baked chips. The Cemita I got was top of the line. Our tacos were scrumptious. I'm not a big dessert guy, I enjoyed the one churro I ate. It was a great evening. Once I entered I was greeted and told to sit anywhere I'd like. The food and service was top notch. There are free refills on the chips and I loved their giant size, perfect for any dip. Everything we ordered tasted delicious and came quickly. Although we came on a Wednesday night, it filled up quickly as the space is not too large. Tiny's Catina is at a great location, right by Barclays and 5th avenue Park slope. The restaurant is a super cute restaurant with a full bar and amazing staff. Ordered the al pastor wings, the wings were moist, juicy and full of meat. For entree we tried the Birria tacos which came with bone marrow and 3 housemate sauce, pumpkin, green and red. Green was my favorite, but the red had the best spice. I haven't found much taco places that serve Birria tacos in Brooklyn. The portions were great, full of meat with every bite. Also ordered the Tiny's Suadero taco made with Morgan brisket. Was Very intrigue since it's something I've never tried, chunks of brisket wrapped in tortilla. As for dessert, churros! The churros were made fresh, hot and crunchy. Comes with a dark chocolate dip, great for people who does not like desserts that are too sweet. The entire experience was smooth and lovely from beginning to end. They had my reservation and I didn't have to show anything except my vax card and ID. I dined with a friend who had already ordered some guac and chips. I noticed they had given her salsa and chips for the table, which is a rarity these days and always appreciated. I liked that the chips were extra large-about the size of 2 standard tortilla chips together :) I love my gin cocktail with apricot! It was refreshing and light. Small but I wasn't looking to get tipsy. Service was friendly and we had two different people helping us. We ordered the Mexican pizza and cornbread ($5) for apps. The cornbread was delicious and definitely heavy so good for sharing. The Mexican pizza was interesting. It was good and had cheese, black beans, radishes and cilantro but I felt avocado crema or guac was missing. So, I added my guac and enjoyed it, but it was very large and too big for the 2 of us so I took the other half home. They were flexible and let me order any entree, even if it wasn't specifically called that. They clearly wanted me to be able to try what I wanted and didn't mind accommodating. The mushroom quesadillas were also quite large so we took some of it home and it was even delicious reheated. The cheese they use (Same as on the pizza) is very interesting. I forget what it is called, but its stringy and stretchy like mozzarella. Staff was ready to clear the table and packed up my leftovers. The best part was the dessert. I really enjoyed the tres leches. It was really fresh with bluebettries and raspberries. I might some back next time just for this! It is an unassuming spot and pretty casual decor. read more
